it seems basically canon that jayce spends a decent amount of time on self-care (nose hair trimmer in his s1 workshop, nails and hands are always impeccably clean and neat for someone who works in a forge half the time, has pre-made sandwiches sitting around ready to consume during long hours)

and viktor very much presents as the kind of single-minded entity who forgets to eat, sleeps in the lab, wears yesterday's clothes if it means more time to work - with the added bonus of chronic pain sapping most of the energy he might have to clean his home, wash his hair, or keep his back and leg braces in prime condition

but now they're partners

and jayce simply won't stand for viktor's personal living conditions and comfort being anything less than supremely optimal

so he sits viktor down in front of a good book, or the latest equation to solve, and goes to town. he trims viktor's nails, cleans out under them, cuts the split ends off of his unruly head of hair. feeds him a sandwich and cup of tea. gently removes viktor's braces, moisturizes and massages the skin underneath back to life. runs viktor a warm soothing medicated bath while he tightens and polishes the braces themselves, lays them ready and pristine on viktor's bed along with a fresh and pressed change of clothes.

jayce tidies up viktor's sitting room and kitchen while he finishes up in the bathroom, stocks the ice box with a week's worth of homemade meals that ximena sent along, and when viktor's out of the bath all calm and relaxed jayce sits him down again to shine his nails with a protective polish to withstand a bit more damage in the lab and gives his bad leg a careful massage that leaves viktor falling asleep right on the couch with his feet in jayce's lap.

(viktor tried to protest all this at first but jayce brought out the puppy dog eyes, plus viktor's never slept so good in his life as he does after this new experience of being so spoiled and taken care of)

this quickly becomes a biweekly tradition

Unrelated to usual posting but I was editing and right before Vander's memories in S2EP5 at 17:03, we, for not even half a second, see Singed with his daughter Orianna! I think I've missed it in the first (2nd, 3rd?,...) watch but it's so heart-wrenching to see how caring this absolute monster is. He destroyed pretty much everyone's lives and threw a curveball at every turn, but here he is, holding his world in his hands. And little Orianna, her father's joy, limp in his arms. Which reminds me of this quote I saw once: For a man so adept at killing, his eyes were remarkably soft. Singed, a man who ruined it for everyone in the worst possible ways, staring and holding his daughter so softly.

Right before this we see him holding the green liquid, which I assume is the thing on Vander/Warwick's back that helps his regeneration. So he is essentially holding his daughter's life in his hands, he is holding her lifeline.

And also, look at how he is holding that thing, not with one hand, carelessly or at his side, no, full on clutching it, cradling it completely to his chest.

He is such an annoyingly interesting character, I hate him with my full chest. Became a monster for all the right reasons.

Every time I see more info about him I want to shake and scream at him and at the same time, gobble it all up. This man that in the original lore was from Piltover and later moved to Zaun to conduct illegal research but in Arcane was directly placed in Zaun for some reason. His and Orianna's lores are super interesing!
