I Took It As A Taunt Series

Anyways, idk how much fics are going to be created for this series, but we’ll see. Updates are slow because of school. I’ve got three (I Took It as a Taunt, Remember Way Back in School? and Isn’t Life so Fucking Inconsistent?) planned rn. Titles are inspired by Lovejoy’s songs.

It’s plain old Dadstantine content with Billy Batson. 

So I've been reading a lot of shazam fanfiction lately, you know. As you do. And I noticed something.

Every time I read a "billy is batman's son" fic billy always goes along willingly. And it strikes me as off. Like this is a kid who has lived on the streets since he was like 6. He also has magic and in some iterations his civilian identity is friends with people like john constantine. He is also a superhero working with the justice league and he takes his responsibilities to his city very seriously.

What I'm saying is that the second billy realized that bruce planned to make him leave fawcett city billy would run like a Batman out of hell. The kid would just nope on out of there first chance he got.

I wanna see a fic where billy has some agency! Where billy says no! I don't care who you are or how much money you have, I'm not leaving my city! And then sticking too that. Batman would be on a wild chase around fawcett city looking for his son. Billy would be outsmarting batman via magic and street smarts. All the while neither knows the others identity. Can you tell me how GOOD a fic like that would be?

My favorite running joke (so far) in yj98 is that Tim has taken Bruce’s old chair from when it was the JL base and just taped a robin symbol over the bat.

For Character Bingo how about Drift

My opinions are not popular because I still like my Drift seasoned with a soupcon of kook. He plays up his spirituality to achieve an effect (mostly provoking Ratchet), but he actually does believe in that shit. It's just funnier if the contradiction is real. He's manipulative. He's cynical. He's a stone cold killer. But he was also physically rebuilt and socially deprogrammed by a crunchy granola back-to-the-land utopian cult during an extremely impressionable period in his life, so yeah, he really is into herbal healing and will gamely read your star chart. What's delicious is you can never really tell if he's shitting you or not. Dream diary? Sure. You nod and agree, because you're kind of terrified of him.

Every member of the Justice League has the shared instinct to parent Billy Batson, except Billy Batson does not want to be parented which has resulted in multiple fights between almost the entire League vs. one ten year old who refuses to take a nap and eat a sandwich

hal jordan partaking in underground boxing is a farfetched idea with many possible outcomes

like this green lantern fellow boxes without the use of his ring and beats some people up (and [maybe] apologizes for beating the people up). 

maybe hal got into underground boxing after he saw his family starting to hate him. maybe he wants to take his frustration, pain and sorrow onto a punching bag (or worse, a person). maybe he just wanted to get away from his family or life, get the adrenaline rush or something. 

eventually, batman does some research, finds out and confronts hal because of the implications (underground boxing is illegal in most countries if there isn’t certified staff). obviously, hal gets pissed. then he asks him how he knows because its something thats been with him in his entire life, it didn’t leave him like his family. hal doesn’t want it to leave like they did.
