Fandom: Trials of Apollo Rating: Teen Genre: Tragedy, Romance, Friendship Characters: Venus, Apollo, Commodus, Reyna, Frank Venus watched her plan come to fruition, and then enjoyed the bonus content that followed. @toapril-official TOApril day 8 - Echoes of Battle Cries. This was supposed to be Aphrodite. Venus wanted in instead.
Venus loved people-watching. Mortals, immortals, gods… it was all the same to her, wrapped up in the glorious bundle that was entertainment, some dancing to her whims and some dancing all of their own accord, falling in love, falling out of love, breaking hearts…
No-one could ever accuse love of being boring.
It wasn’t just romantic love she presided over, of course. Love was nothing so narrow-minded, and the making and breaking of friendships, familial and platonic bonds was no less entertaining and fun to play with.
Right then, Apollo was giving her bountiful entertainment on all fronts. His uncertainty with Reyna – a particularly clever set-up of hers, Venus thought with no small amount of smugness – had reached its conclusion, resulting in an embarrassed Apollo and a Reyna who had finally recognised who she was and what she did and didn’t need to exist as herself. Venus hadn’t been the only observing god to delight in Apollo’s predicament, there, although she had been rightfully the most delighted, seeing as it was her own handiwork coming to fruition.
Now, she was watching something she had had no hand in, but was enjoying the results regardless. The emotional torment of the loss of a loved one – platonic perhaps, but Apollo had almost viewed Frank as a son for all that he belonged to her beloved – was delicious. Venus hadn’t involved herself in Juno’s lifewood scheme, wasn’t particularly interested in what the other goddess got up to most of the time, given her prudish and limiting attitude towards things like monogamy, but that certainly didn’t stop her appreciating the way it had ended in such a blaze of glory.
Apollo’s anguish and pain, his heartbreak at Frank’s sacrifice, came very close to toppling her own Reyna scheme for the most entertaining moment since Apollo and Margaret had arrived at Camp Jupiter, and Venus was also eager to see young Hazel’s reaction to the news. She was a strong young woman, and that only meant her reaction would be all the more exquisite.
Despite that, Apollo wasn’t done providing her with entertainment she would remember and cherish for centuries, because to finish it off, the third emotional torment of the trio he was experiencing, was a mess of his own making, and that…
Well, Venus loved orchestrating her romances and love-based relationships, loved interfering to gain the maximum entertainment, but she also loved it when people were messy enough that she didn’t even need to give them a nudge to bring out the best and worst in them.
Apollo and Commodus were one such pair. They had been a disaster from the start, hurtling together like two out of control chariots and crashing together in a tangle of reins that couldn’t be separated and instead drew them even closer together, despite how terribly suited they were for each other – or how perfectly suited they were, depending on the perspective.
Venus had watched them the first time, the power imbalance between them and the way Apollo tried to ignore it and Commodus clawed his way up to try and even it out but always falling short because he wasn’t a god back then, and barely counted now, and thrived on it. It was always messy, always take and take and take, no side ever giving to the other no matter what pretty words they dressed it up in, and was always destined to end in the most beautifully ugly fashion.
There was something darkly romantic about lovers killing lovers, the possessiveness of it all when they loved and hated themselves and each other, but despite it all, claimed each other’s life and death. No-one else could have them, not a single aspect of them. Not their love, not their life, not their death.
Venus had watched Apollo straddle the young emperor in his bathtub, outwardly so calm despite his essence being a wreck, and pin him down in a way that was sensual and brutal all at once. Ending the life of the mortal he had fallen in love with, a stark parallel to the number of times he had desperately tried to save doomed mortals.
There was nothing healthy about the relationship Apollo and Commodus shared. Not back then, and not now, either. Commodus had died, but Commodus had survived, and the hate-love-hate between them had only tangled further, both of them still in love with the other while they hated them with every fibre of their being.
It was poetic that it ended like this.
Apollo’s hands were around Commodus’ throat again, straddling him in the same sensual manner he had millennia before, except they were accompanied by fire instead of water. Perhaps Apollo himself, one day, would be able to craft something out of the parallels there, if he would bring himself to sing of this. Venus hoped he would; his songs crafted of heartbreak always excited her essence the way nothing else he wrote quite managed. A broken god beneath a mortal god, the end of the tale of two doomed lovers, doomed from the start and both always aware of it, but too obsessed to let go regardless.
It didn’t matter that Commodus had lost his beauty in the fire, that he was hardly a husk of the beautiful man he had once been. Apollo’s anguish was still the same, bolstered even further by Frank’s sacrifice mere seconds before. It was a tangible thing, the grief.
And then Apollo screamed.
Mortal he might have been, but it was not a mortal cry. It was the cry of a god, a cry that reached deep inside the fabric of the world and tore at it, shaking the essence of watching gods.
It was thrilling, a song of heartbreak and rage and complicated emotions that all stemmed back to his love for his friends, for those he would see as his children if only he could, for the doomed love story he’d reprised against his will.
Apollo was aghast at what he’d just done, what he’d been able to do, and Venus suspected there were other gods watching and drawing their own opinions, but none of that mattered to her. Let them think what they want, let Apollo struggle with his emotions and what love could do when he unleashed the darker side of it.
Venus had found her new favourite song of Apollo.

HeadCannon of Peter being a sick child
Not in the sense of "Peter is sick and Tony has to take care of him", NO!
It's the kind of "I've had migraines for so long I don't even care about the pain anymore" or "I get colds so many times in the week that I don't know how is the feeling of DON'T HAVE a runny nose"
So Tony go ask him one day like
Tony: Pete, your nose is bleeding!? ARE YOU OKAY!?
And Peter takes a set of wet wipes from his bag calmly wiping his nose saying
Peter: Oh yeah, it happens sometimes, so about the design of the new Falcon wings...
AND HE DON'T SAY ANYTHING ELSE AFTER!?
Tony is already pulling his hair out wondering why Peter suddenly passes out sometimes and Peter goes like
Peter: Oh yeah, about that, I have anemia and low blood pressure, sometimes my blood sugar drops and my blood pressure drops and then I passes out, nothing to worry about 😊
Tony's heart almost stops and he's already like "god I need to put this kid in a bubble to protect him..."
One day Tony turns to Peter and asks if he wants something to eat or drink and Peter says
Peter: Ohhhhh, THAT'S why my vision is blurry the whole afternoon, hahaha
Tony:... uh?
Peter: I forgot to eat
Tony: WHAT!? IT'S 12:45 PM!? YOU HAVEN'T EATEN ANYTHING ALL DAY!?
Peter: Yep, ops haha, I'm gonna drink a glass of water
Tony: THIS IS NOT EVEN NEARLY ENOUGH!?!?!? I'M ORDERING 3 PIZZAS AND YOU'RE EATING THEM!!!!
Peter: But I'm not hungry...
Tony: !?!?!?!? HOW!?
Since then, Tony forces Peter to eat something every time they meet, Peter thinks this is excessive, Tony thinks that if he doesn't do this Peter will die-

Day 14 - Pact From our Youth

Day 8 - Echoes of Battle Cries
This has probably been done, but oh well!
Role swap au between Nene and Kou, let's go!
The reason behind Kou wanting to get help from "Hanako-San" is because he wants his brother to be proud of him. So Hanako suggests that he exorcise one of the stronger supernaturals plaguing the school. He lists a bunch of supernaturals, ending with the mermaid because of how strong she is and because of her curse, since the only way to "summon" her, would be to ingest her scale. Kou however, hears "strong" and "dangerous", and decides to exercise her. Of course, this goes tits up and Hanako has to save the day. He eats the matching scale, just like canon, and suddenly we start down the HanaKou route of this venture.
Then we have Nene. She's only just joined the world of the supernaturals and exorcists, as not too long ago, she was saved by Teru. See where I'm going with this? Having been saved by he budding crush, her infatuation blossoms, leading her to ask him to teach her how to be an exorcist. Uncertain on what his brother is up to (he's Hanako's janitor now Teru, lol), Teru decides to let this girl try exorcism out. Turns out, she's not half bad! So Teru continues teaching her (he's sort of tough on her and sort of the prince of the school still?? Like, the way she sees it is that he's only tough on her so she won't die) and eventually he asks her to exorcise Hanako. Her love drunk self accepts, thinking that she can confess to Teru after and they can be happy exorcist husband and wife (I noticed early on that her idea of romance is so fantastical that I'm kind of worried she's not living in the real world for some reason.. mentally, I mean). Of course, this leads to the trio being together again, and despite Nene thinking that Teru's love is endgame, she can't bring herself to kill this wonder.
Not only that, but Kou is obviously an exorcist too, and he hasn't killed Hanako yet, so she's trying to figure out why. (It takes a while for it to click in her mind, since she seems the type to only link f/m romantically)
I'm thinking, at some point, Nene slips up and tells Teru that Kou is hanging out with Hanako, and that it looks kind of fun, which is how he finds out. Of course, then he's pissed, so he heads straight for Hanako to kill him, but Kou protects his "friend" (they're not quite in love yet) and Hanako is astonished. Then Kou mentions the mermaid scales (which Teru is suddenly pondering why he never got around to mentioning them before now) and Teru blanches. Then he gets even angrier. He tells Hanako that, once he figures out how to break the curse, he's going to kill him. Hanako essentially says "Good luck" and off Teru stomps.
...
Eh, while we're here...
Let's role swap Aoi and Mitsuba too!
Of course, that means Mitsuba is the classmate/friend of Kou that knows all about the wonders of the school. When asked how he knows, he usually just says something along the lines of "It's easy to see things when you have a lens to capture them". He also finds it hilarious when the confession tree brings the two guys together (a different two guys, but two guys nontheless). When Kou asks why, Mitsuba says it's because they always argued before, so its a welcome shock that its because they were in love (Kou silently grateful its not because they're two guys.. even though he questions that thought immediately after). Then he skips over and offers to take tons of pictures for them, like the little shit he is.
As for Aoi, I reckon her backstory is the opposite of Mitsuba's ghost origin. Instead of being pretty unnoticeable, she was too noticeable. Everyone knew her, and while she seemed fine with that, she really wasn't. Because of how popular she was, she never had free time. Always hanging out with others and being confessed to... it took its toll. She wasn't happy with how her school life was, and needed a break. So, her parents booked holidays and took her to a ski resort. However, the weather got bad on their drive there, and the family didn't make it. Next time she opens her eyes, she's a ghost wandering the school. At first, she hates it because she's trapped at school, the one place she couldn't be herself. Then she hates it because, after a day of everyone being sad she's gone, they all move on. Not a single person seems to care she's gone. Considering how much they all pestered her, it hurts to see that it wasn't because they were her friends. Thus, she asks Tsukasa to help everyone remember her, in an attempt to remind her "friends" she existed, and that spiral commences. (Of course, this time it's Nene helping our ghost buddy, not Kou, since Kou is with Hanako)
I don't know why this got me so bad, like, I am in XD If this is already a thing or someone wants to write it, please share 🙏

Peter was alone, mid-way through an existential crisis after the Erasure™ and was dreading the upcoming month of May.
Jason was sick of people telling him how he felt. ‘You don’t need us anymore,’ Artemis had told him, as if saying it would make it true. As if Jason needed someone to justify keeping them around. But three weeks back in Gotham and all Jason felt was fucking bored and lonely.
It was a relief, then, when some random New Yorker was thrown into his living room through a portal straight out of some LSD daydream.
Finally, something interesting to deal with.
Cue some wild family misunderstandings, criminal conspiracies and cults.
Because there’s always a goddamn cult.
