I listen to music with headphones not because J wanna go deaf or be disrespectful, but so I don't have to hear the electricity in the walls and dog whistles and other NOISE that DISTRACTS me and ANNOYS me.

But there's more.

I want to hear every instrument that takes part in the melody. The breaths of the singer. The leitmotifs, every note, has meaning.

Music is a form of art, and I have trouble focusing without it. Even if it seems distracting or extra to you, it actually fuels me.

if you ever find yourself thinking “wow I scraped the bottom of the barrel with my energy with that and came out okay!” that’s the devil talking. you did not come out okay. you borrowed energy from the future. you will repay it if you don’t rest and replenish the borrowed energy first.

even if you love your own company, if you’re okay in solitude, being alone can still suck. it’s okay to be discontent with and experience loneliness. it doesn’t automatically mean “you need to love your own company more”.
