Out of its hard plastic egg
Oozing onto the carpet
Desperately clinging onto every
Single carpet fiber,
Gripping every particle of dust
Refusing to relinquish its hold.
Picking up newsprint
Backwards
Stretching, warping, distorting
The once clean lines of
Reality.
Attempts to contain the mess
Only enrage the sticky monster,
Now grasping onto your fingers
Tainting everything you touch.
There is no barrage of cannons,
No onslaught of arrows.
It just melts into you,
Melds until you are one,
The distinction a long forgotten past
Even washing your hands,
A tacky residue
Remains –
A quiet reminder of the
Chaos you’ve caused.
Sometimes it feels like everyone around me is speaking in a secret language and I'm the only one who doesn't know it.
Are there any other neurodivergent people that can relate to me feeling like I have to bend my brain in a super uncomfortable way every day at school or in the presence of an authority figure and therefore find almost 100% of their life exhausting and painful
Countries around the world should slap targeted tariffs on Teslas, block X in their country, and cancel their SpaceX and Starlink contracts immediately.
Hit President Musk where it hurts.

there was a great study a few years that went into the whole "ppl online are bigger jerks than irl cuz theres a virtual wall and no repercussions" and the researchers were expecting to see that be the case but it turns out that people who were really angry or argumentative online were also found to just be assholes in person and people who were pretty patient and nice online were found to be patient and nice in real person as well
and it just debunked that whole cynical idea that people will naturally be mean if theres no punishment for it
don’t know what parent of an autistic child needs to hear this but as long as they’re not harming anyone your kid’s stimming is not a “problem behaviour”
Sometimes people use “respect” to mean “treating someone like a person” and sometimes they use “respect” to mean “treating someone like an authority”
and sometimes people who are used to being treated like an authority say “if you won’t respect me I won’t respect you” and they mean “if you won’t treat me like an authority I won’t treat you like a person”
and they think they’re being fair but they aren’t, and it’s not okay.
Something that I get chills about is the fact that the oldest story told made by the oldest civilization opens with "In those days, in those distant days, in those ancient nights."
This confirms that there is a civilization older than the Sumerians that we have yet to find
Some people get existential dread from this
Me? I think it's fucking awesome it shows just how much of this world we have yet to discover and that is just fascinating
trying to prove something to my mother ^^
when people pop off with some ass take like "why should I have to put my pronouns in my profile or signature or whatever, my name is Tom and I have short hair and am wearing an oxford shirt in my profile pic, figure it out" I always think
so do you just not talk to people from other countries for your job, ever?
like, some people don't, and you can follow the flowchart to a different part of the argument about why pushing back about pronouns is stupid, but I e-mail people in Singapore and Dubai and Japan and India every day. A lot of those people have names that are probably their local equivalent of "Tom," but I have never seen them before and I have no idea if that's a girl's name or a boy's name. They usually have profile pics too. I don't know how common short hair is for women or long hair is for men in their country. I don't know if that style of shirt is more common for men or more common for women. I'm not writing this from some homogenous whitebread oasis, either, I live in New York City, it's just simply not possible for me to know the common names in every language of every country where the people I need to work with, live.
just put your stupid pronouns in your signature, some exasperated project manager in Mumbai will one day appreciate it
The laws that govern the hydraulics are always interesting ..
if a number divided by itself is always equal to 1, surely this holds true for 0/0 as well

no matter how hard i try i will always be that little girl wondering why everyone is better friends with eachother than her and begging to be loved
i was drafting a post that said “a single boba tea can replace up to two meals if you are pure of heart” and the reason i didn’t post it is because as i was typing those words i got so dizzy i felt like i was being abducted by aliens
I cannot emphasize enough how much of a life hack it is to exclusively be friends with, date and marry people who are not constantly mean assholes to you.
