what I really like about all these vintage couple’s portraits is that there is a very certain romatic decorum kept up – certain themes and poses – which, while of course being the mainstream preferred view of couples repeated throughout many studios, are just… so nice to look at. 

this staged affection, a mix of theatricality and intimacy, the couple holding still for a couple of moments and now immortalised in a very set sequence of embraces and kisses. there is a charm to it even when I can’t tell whether this was a genuine couple portait or just actors hired by the photographer.

the kiss on the bare shoulder (eyes perfectly averted), the cheek caress, the piano and the violin, the interrupted embrace, the woman tilted back as in a half-stopped dance…

Movie Idea:

A French and a German guy are in love but when they want to greet each other the German sticks his hand out for a handshake and the French guy leans in for cheek kisses.

So the French guy leans in and the German sticks his hand out and accidentally rams it in the French guys stomach.

Then the German guy is super embarrassed because he fucking decked the love of his life so he decides to give the French guy those cheek kissed next time.

At the same time the French guy is also super embarrassed so he decides to go for a handshake next time.

They meet again and what happens? The German guy leans in for kisses, the French guy sticks his hand out for a handshakes and fucking rams his hand into the Germans stomach.

Next time they meet it's really awkward so they just kiss each other on the lips.

i dont think this should need to be said but i feel like it's time for a periodic reminder that if your feminism/politics are exclusionary of sex workers and kinksters or other vaguely defined "weird people" you're a shithead and i have no interest in having you around. you cannot build a just society primarily built around the exclusion of specific groups, that just makes you a fascist. same thing goes for prison abolitonists who still want to reserve the right to kill certain "gross" or "wrong" people rather than actually investing in rehabilitative community justice.

I’ve been thinking a lot about Destiel, since one of my friends said that she can just as easily ship Cas with Sam, since the three of them are the only characters that appear in every episode. She has a good point, but then I realised, the reason we ship Destiel more than Sastiel (nothing wrong with that btw) is because the way the show is written/edited/filmed makes everything to do with Cas connected to DEAN.
