He’s just a lil guy

She wasn’t surprised to hear it come from Synn’s mouth, but even when you expect something, you can’t ever really predict how you’ll react in the moment. Past trauma has a way of resurfacing, and for her, it stirs the fear that no one could ever like her for who she truly is. She holds her breath for half a second, then blurts out, “Are you sure?”

The second the words leave her mouth, she knows: she let the intrusive thoughts win again. She tries to correct herself. “I don’t mean like that, not at all. I just... do you like me, or do you like what I am in the ring? There’s a difference.”

And there was. She played the bombshell, the femme fatale—but in reality, she was the farthest thing from that. In her time traveling with Wilson, she’d shown him glimpses, but never the full picture.

"Well", Azin started, trying to find the right kind of words, the right answer without telling him how he should feel. "I do understand, I do, I don't want to tell you how you should feel though." She explained putting her cards out on the table. "But I've been there, afraid that you'll speak them into existence. Like a curse, or some nonsense, not that curses are nonsense, but just speaking your feelings shouldn't curse you." Az was stumbling over her words, not wanting to tell Synn that in her bloodline that could be very true. "But people like us? We fight, it's not for the faint of heart but we do."

she had heard it come out of the young man's mouth, and she probably didn't start breathing until she felt malaki's hand on her back to move her and follow with punk and himself. she was openly apart of his circle, but to what extent no one really knew. the divorce had hit her like a lightning strike, and maybe she allowed herself to hope.

"and you think he won't? not after this, not after he had to break up a fight? the biggest thing is praying he didn't hear what jack said." she crossed her arms over her chest, alone with him in the locker room now. because the reality of what happened was coming to her in waves. her body felt very clammy in that moment. "this is it isn't it?"

that was the problem — punk was there and he still did nothing. he couldn’t risk doing something when the ink on the divorce papers hadn’t dried yet, nor could he risk upsetting joe, so it was the safest option for him to do nothing even if it killed him. he was already dealing with the consequences of his actions in his newly appointed ex-wife filing for divorce, but he really couldn’t deal with not being able to see azin because of his actions.

“i hate to be the bearer of bad news, but…” he sheepishly rubbed the back of his neck, unable to meet her gaze. “joe was right there. he would’ve kicked my ass.”

It was a quiet announcement that she was there. Who else would spider walk their fingers down his arm? He did stand a bit taller than her, and she was known for her ability to slip in and out of situations. A number of other club members screamed that Jay needed to put a bell on her because she would just randomly appear.

"No, I just wanted to see what you were doing." Her neck craning to watch the match with him. Her frame pressing up against his as she waited for his answer.

It was more amusing than anything. Jay knew immediately. The way Azin ran her hand down his arm, stepping forward as Jay watched the match from backstage. He tilted his head at her. Surprise was feigned on his face, deciding to play along himself.

He didn't pull his arm away, instead turning to face her. The lady was a good few inches shorter than him. Jay found himself humming a bit, before placing his arm around her shoulder and pulling her in.

"Can I help you, Az?"

there's a small groan that escapes her lips as his big hands run all over her scalp, ruining whatever hair styling she'd done before. naturally curly hair having been made straight from the heat. "you're a miracle worker." she says, leaning against his large frame her neck rolling with him. the bright lights from earlier giving her a tension headache.
