i just donβt think people truly understand the weight that accompanies getting all of your self worth from academic validation. neglecting sleeping and eating to revise. never being able to truly escape from school even when you go home because youβre always thinking about it, even in the back of your head. wanting to throw up at the mere idea of failure. dreading getting exam results even if you think you did well. feeling like youβre nothing if not successful. the caving feeling from having everyoneβs unwavering confidence but none of your own. the pressure that piles on from everyone around you. beating yourself up if you pass instead of achieve. shaking when writing essays even if you know what youβre talking about. planning your entire life around school. burning out and then getting mad at yourself for doing so. it is exhausting.
βwhat if I told you i am incapable of tolerating my own heart?β
