hi! i hope you’re well ; im starting college this fall and i was wondering if you had any recommendations as to what i should do this summer ?
Print out every syllabus from your classes and read them thoroughly. Is there anything that scares you? Probably bc you don't feel adequately prepared for the task at hand. Maybe writing so many papers is scary bc you're not a strong writer. Maybe those math classes scare you bc you've always been average at math. See where your fears lie and get a head start on making them less scary. Practice writing and read up on tips to make you a better writer. Start doing math in your free time to strengthen your skills.
Start going to bed early and waking up early. Change your bodies internal clock to maximize the amount of time and sunlight available to you in the day (this is especially helpful during the winter). You will want this to be your default setting as a student. Trust me. Being someone who struggles to get up on time or isn't a "morning person" will make a big difference on your performance.
Read every day. Even just a few pages. Reading is considered a “boring” task bc of the lack of stimulation in the form of noises and lights and sounds and visuals. Reading is extremely beneficial to a good education. You are increasing your attention span and getting used to doing “boring” work, which school will obviously have lots of. Plus it's just really good for you in general and will help your memory.
Set up a routine that incorporates daily discipline. Pick something that takes effort but isn't impossible to do every day and stick to doing it literally every single day. Teach yourself that you are capable of doing something as a daily practice. If you can read 50 pages or do 20 sit ups or drink water day after day after day, what makes you think you can't study or do assignments every day too?
Get comfortable talking to adults and asking for help. Parents, employees at a store, it doesn't matter. Build the skill that gets rid of the fear of seeking help from authoritative figures.
As an (I assume) 18 year old, this will be pretty hard and you might not be completely correct in the long run, but try to figure out what your life's plan is. What do you want? A lot of the times, we lose out on that dream in this young adult age group because of bad decisions and missed opportunities. Try to find your path and start doing the things that lead you to that destination. Meaning, if you want to be married, there's literally nothing wrong with getting started on looking for husband-potential guys. If you want to have a certain figure, I wouldn't wait until I'm older and it's much harder to achieve that. Try to have some clarity before you even start college.
Get some stress relieving hobbies. Have interests and skills. Not only will they keep you sane during school but they can make you some great friends along the way from likeminded individuals.
Brush up on sex education. Please.
Brush up on peer pressure and how to avoid giving in to unpleasant situations that you would have otherwise turned down.
If you're moving away, enjoy all of the precious moments with your family and friends. Take pictures, visit boring but familiar places you grew up at. Take it all in.
see. even men know this and are trying to tell you.

it’s never too late. go after what you want! it doesn’t matter if you’re 15 or 25 or 65. there’s no deadline or fixed schedule you need to follow. starting over or starting late is okay! go at your own pace!
