Spectacular đ€©
I donât think there are words or pictures adequate enough to describe how absolutely spectacular MĂžre og Romsdal is. This is Trollstigen, my favourite viewpoint of the entire trip :)
Can we romanticize humble academia?? Be in love with sharing your knowledge with others. having a sheepish smile on your face as you clumsily explain a concept that you fully understand but havenât read up on recently. Happily help someone understand a complex concept that you do understand. Roll your eyes and make funny faces at people purposely being pretentious. Give away or sell at a reasonable price old textbooks that you know are still in use. Lend and exchange notes with other genuine acedmics. Encourage others with whatever their studies/aspirations are.
Pretentiousness in academia is so outdated, and frankly off putting. Romanticize the academic practice of being kind.
This is the best use I have seen of a composition notebook without the pen and highlighter bleeding through! Stunning!

Duolingo recently rolled out a new feature that includes a dynamic list of vocabulary terms as new lessons are completed. I love this feature and its way of keeping track of words and phrases that are getting rusty, but I want a way to categorize the terms based on subject. Until a feature like that rolls out (if ever), Iâm going to start posting subject- and lesson-specific vocabulary lists for Duolingo Spanish.

Wow, these are some really really good tips! đ
1. you ace tests by overlearning. you should know your notes/flashcards/definitions basically by heart. if someone asks you about a topic when youâre away from class or your notes and you can answer them in a thorough and and accurate answer, then youâre good, you know the material.Â
2. if you donât understand something, it will end up on the test. so just donât disregard and hope that this specific topic wonât be on the test. give it more attention, help, and practice. find a packet of problems on that one concept and donât stop until you finish it and know it the best.Â
3. sometimes you just need that Parental Push. you know in elementary school, they would tell you âok now itâs time for you to do your homework! you have a project coming up, start looking for a topic now!â ONE of your teachers might be like this. be thankful for it and follow their advice! these teachers are the best at always keeping you on track with their calendar. if not a teacher, then have one of your friends be that person that can keep you accountable for the things you promised you would do.Â
4. you just need to kick your own ass. seriously. i know it sucks and its hard to study for two things at once. BUT. I DONT CARE IF ITâS HARD. you need to do it and at least do it to get it over with because you canât keep putting things off. If you do, you will eventually run out of time and you will hate yourself. force yourself to do it. i made myself sign up for june ACT even though thereâs finals because if i didnât, i probably never would. like do i think iâm gonna be ready in one month? probably not, SO I BETTER GET ON IT AND START STUDYING!Â
5. do homework even if it doesnât count. if you actually try on it, then you will actually do so much better on the tests, itâs like magic.Â
6. literally just get so angry about procrastinating that you make yourself start that assignment. I know how hard it is to kick the procrastination habit. I have to procrastinate. So I make myself start by thinking about my deadlines way early. I think, âoh i have a presentation in three weeks (but it really takes 2 weeks to do), iâll be good and start today.â when that doesnât happen, you say youâll do it tomorrow, and this happens for like the next four days. I get so mad at myself for not starting when i am given a new chance to do so with every passing day. By that time, you actually have exactly how much time you need for it AND you were able to procrastinate the same way you usually do ;)

Introduction
I studied Spanish at school for 3 years and now I'm at a low B1 level. I can actually understand pretty well while listening or reading but I can't communicate fluently.
This plan will include vocabulary build up, some grammar revision, a lot of listening, reading and writing. And could be used for the most languages, not only Spanish.
Plan
Every day:
Conjugate one verb in present, past and future tenses
Make a list about 10 - 30 words long
Create flashcards with them and start learning them (I use Quizlet for flashcards)
Revise yesterday's set of flashcards
2-3 times a week:
Read an article or a few pages from a book
Write a few sentences about anything in your target language
Listen to one episode of podcast (at least one)
Once a week or every two weeks:
Watch a movie in your target language, preferably animated movie as the language used there is easier. You can watch with subtitles
Grammar exercises
Translate some short text
Once a month:
Write something longer, like an essay or report, on chosen topic
Additionally:
Talk to yourself, to your friends, to your pets
Text with someone
Look at the transcription while listening to the podcast for second time
Repeat what you hear (in podcast or movie)
Check words you don't know from the listening and reading
Read out loud
Listen to music in your target language - you can even learn the text and sing along
Watch YouTube in your target language
Change your phone language to the one you're learning
Think in you target language!!!
***This is very intense plan for self-learners, you don't have to do all of these things in the given time. Adjust it to your own pace. I'll try to stick to this, if I have enough time.***
Hi Steph! I love your blog and your fic recs! I was wondering if you could please help me find a fic I read a while ago but lost. It's post-Reichenbach, where I remember it takes ~42 days for "the fog to lift from John's mind" and he realises what Sherlock meant by his 'note', and John works on clearing Sherlock's name, then moves to a lil house by the sea, and patiently waits for Sherlock, who shows up after a year and a half, I think? Please, it's driving me crazy aha!
Hey Nonny!
Ooof, I have no idea which fic this is, but it sounds vaguely familiar... anyone able to help me out with this one??
