I think when I first saw this character design, that was my nonbinary awakening because all I knew was that I wanted to have *exactly that energy* and now a few months later, I'm playing a nonbinary deep sea genasi monk that regularly licks rocks and has a glowing antenna like an anglerfish.

WayfarerAsh on twitter commissioned me to design a nonbinary D&D character for them! They left the rest of the details up to me! 

So I came up with an Earth Genasi Goliath and had SO much fun working on them! I was so flattered they trusted me with this! 

ive been reading a book that basically explains how so-called “brain differences” between the genders is the result of gendered socialization and not the cause of it. i honestly expected the book to be very cis-centric but its actually the opposite, the author stresses that testimony from trans ppl is actually indispensable because we’ve, in a sense, “lived both experiences”

more cis feminists should have this mindset

Possibly the best update yet BONUS:

‘‘Out of all the dragons, the Spore Dragons are one of the oddest ones. Wingless and slim, their body is covered in mushrooms and fungus. Lurking in tunnels of the Underdark, they use their breath to bring corpses back to life… surrounding themselves with mindless servants and creating their own small kingdoms.’‘ I’m not at all used to draw like this, but I absolutely wanted to give it a try! My friendo David and I were talking about Mushroom Dragons and were having a blast, and I really wanted to try to design one ahaha.

We’re only finding out recently that a lot of animals have colors and patterns that we cannot see because they’re outside of our visual range. It calls to attention how much of the world we can’t experience because our senses are limited. When we shine UV lights on them, they glow pink or blue, but these are the colors that we CAN see…. they could be a bunch of different colors, which we SEE as all pink. It’s also interesting to consider that most of these animals are not aware of having glowing patches on their bodies…. isn’t it also possible that we have skin or hair patterns that were not aware of? . . (There is actually some research out there to support the idea that our own skin fluoresces as well and that there are gender differences in the pattern and glow.) I was high off my ass last night and had this dream where I was in this dense ass forest and sitting there was a tall woman. She was so tall I couldn’t see her face but she was wearing gold and I was like “uh…hi?” And she said “I made you, do you know that?” And I nodded and she was like “I hear your thoughts. Why do you hate my creation? Why do you try to destroy yourself? I made you perfect as you are. Please don’t break my heart”. Then she started crying and it flooded and I woke up with fucking heart palpitations like what does it Mean™️????

Steampunk without commentary on the exploitative machinations of imperialism is not steampunk.

Cyberpunk without commentary on capitalism’s efforts to buy the world out from under us is not cyberpunk.

Solarpunk without commentary on how to grow a brighter future for everyone instead of submitting to gloom is not solarpunk.

These three make a trifecta of how capitalism took over, what can happen if it continues, and how to prevent it from doing so. What was, is, and still could be.
