Always delightful when my friends throw me under the bus for inspiring unhinged ideas.
Look at him, he's Goth and cool and Eldritch, unlike my silly goober
@purrlockswatson made me do it
Coloured pencils and white ink on tinted cardstock.
Feedback accepted and appreciated. I don't bite. Honest. Inspired by the part in Dracula where Mina turns back to human when he dies, so here the vampire narrator ends their own life to set their lover free. Thanks to @academic-vampire for asking to read my writing and for introducing me to the format! You can read his sestina here.
Random question: What fictional character do I remind you of?
It's been on my mind since someone recently told me I looked like Mavis Dracula from "Hotel Transylvania" (by a happy coincidence, I have her hairstyle). Would love to collect more of my fictional doppelgängers/matching weirdos.
Not even the whole song, only that.
Thanks to @grisha-brain for the tag! I hope you don't mind me answering with my 'ramble' blog. And thank you for stalking my art blog, haha!

If you see this you are OBLIGATED to reblog w/ the song currently stuck in your head :)
🫦 Close-up of a WIP.
For the first time, I drew a fairly decent digital drawing of a human-like creature. And then this happened. I'm cursed. I want to take a bite out of it.
Perchance, I should consider giving up pursuing a career as an illustrator, and turn to making vampire pin-ups.
What are the people's interests in slightly scandalous, highly edible-looking vampire art?
Very nice, Pierce, but maybe don't flash your, ah, ankles. Dear Aurik is by @vladimirsangel
Originally, I only planned a doodle of smol Pierce next to Aurik because a midnight conversation turned from the division of chores in the Dracula household to vampire height difference. But it's been a weird week, and I kept adding to the sketches to unwind. I hope my 'stress art' makes some people happy, too.
On vamp fashion: Pierce's dressing gown is based on Klimt's The Kiss, reference to the Klimt-inspired robe in Bram Stoker's Dracula (1992). Aurik is NOT a brat; he probably borrowed the t-shirt from Vlad. His outfit is a combination of this Goth one and his Ugg boots.
Thanks @t4z-0n-p4wz for tagging me in an ask game!
1.Favourite band of all time: Goodness, I don't know any. Maybe "Concrete Blonde" or "Will Wood and the Tapeworms."
2.Scent I really like: A tiny bottle of Miss Dior someone gave me from Christmas. Or the sea. Or frying bacon. (Not all at the same time.)
3.If I were a crystal, what do I want to be? Honestly, I'd rather be a stone so deep in the earth's crust that nobody will dig me up. But Amethyst, because a family member gifted some to me at a stressful time for luck.
4.Team vampires or team werewolf:
VAMPIRES.
Thank you for specifying not Twilight. If that were the case, I'm team pest control.
5.Favourite animal print: Leopard. I have so much leopard print I can become a weirdly shaped leopard if need arises.
6.Strangest item of clothing I own: I don't have it yet, but I'm making a Nosferatu bag.
7.Baggy clothes or fitting: Style-wise, fitting.
8.Socks or no socks: socks, if I remember
9.Favourite Sanrio character? I'll say Cinnamon Roll, but with Kuromi's colour palette.
10.Favourite horror game: I don't know any! Recommendations?
Thank you, @windforkthewriter ! Here goes:
I don't know what the heck to write after that. It wasn't supposed to be a funny scene, but well. If you'd asked a few minutes earlier would have gotten a messy monologue about vampire breakups. @blackforrestpunk @vladimirsangel @whyisthereacentaur No worries if you don't want to, you're the first writer friends to pop into my head!
Tagged by @thesongistheriver - who is also being very kind and beta-reading my current WIP. My first ever long-form Merlin fanfiction. I had posted an earlier version of the first chapter on AO3 a while back, but took it down when I realised I wanted to expand it more and write a decent chunk before uploading :-)
This line is taken from a scene where Merlin encounters the Triple Goddess during a quest through the spirit world. The forms disappear, the mother last... and the line is:
She slowly faded into thin air, though her touch, an indelible warmth, lingered: a tender imprint etched deep into his very soul.

Here, I get up to shenanigans with fellow artists, review and ramble, post my writing, crafts and PoTO art because reasons.
My main blogs:
Book/history blog: @purrlockholmesbooksblog
Main art blog: @purrlockholmesbooks
My Gothic literature fanfic Gothic Tales from Melancholia is on AO3
The illustrated t-shirt does exist.
-Art requests are always welcome! I mainly draw, but will also get (hand)crafty if you have good, or unhinged, ideas.
-Asks about drawings, writing, OCs and projects.
-Asks for opinions/reviews of books, films, etc. I love researching and jabbering about my findings.
-Personal questions that won't help any unsavoury individuals to find me in real life (i.e., by all means ask me about my existential crises, but not about my nationality).
[Ha! That's rich, talking like you have a coachman!]
Context: the great Count Dracula has no servants. Blood-slaves? Thralls to his hypnotism? Nah. Just little old him and three vampire ladies who don't help with the chores and try to steal his snacks (and/or his lawyer).
For the OC ask game: 9 & 14!
Hiya, thank you for asking! I love doing these. Questions are from this ask game.
9. Does your character swear? Do they remember their first swearword? Pierce doesn't swear much, though he loves a saucy euphemism. He was in with a very... radical, wild crowd when he was young, he definitely learned a thing or two. Cleopatra was born in the Noughties, she has an extensive mental curseword dictionary but prefers creative insults . Her first swear was 'shite.' Sarah swears every few sentences, mostly 'hell' and 'damn', which were pretty bad in the 1700s, but she also uses slurs (which are never actually written out - once she 'called Pierce a name') that were common back then.
14. What animal are they afraid of? Pierce is afraid of terriers. He likes most dogs, but the small kind makes him jumpy. His fears change depending on what animal form he's taking, really. Cleopatra is afraid of fishes. She thinks they look very creepy in the water. Aquariums make her intensely uncomfortable, but she also enjoys it. Sarah is afraid of vampires. They symbolise corruption and depravity, but most of all because she is tempted by the power they have.
