I was recently given these photos of my grandparents’ GSD, Prince. Taken around 1949-1951.

70 years later my grandmother can sharply recall endless stories involving him, and tears up when she says how she misses him. Dogs, man!

For our sport, the dog loses points in position changes if they move forward during the sequence. If they can't respond promptly and hold the cued position that is also a point deduction. In a sport where every point counts we try to build strong understanding of not just the verbal cue, but also how to transition into the position without extra forward movement. A dog can't do those transitions without proper conditioning, so there's lots of upkeep to keep positions trial ready.

Static positions are extra hard for a dog as dance-y and prone to vibrating as Cake but I'm not mad at this
