This is my one and only experiment with dyeing a skull. I used all natural things but I forget specifically what, I know I used some kind of tea but other than that, no clue!

Completed my little raccoon collection with the addition of a ringtail skull from @flannelfoxen ❤️! Bottom image is of a white-nosed cotai, ringtail, and raccoon. All three are in the Procyonidae family.

Red fox (unknown if ranched or wild) - full skull - n/a

I got this guy as a gift a few years ago, It wasn’t labeled so I’m not sure if it’s a ranched variety or a plain wild red.

Currently in the freezer to kill the plethora of insects before I can inspect it's body further, but there was definitely a bloody wound around the neck/head area, with blood drops staining the leaves nearby.

This beast is definitely a favorite! The sagittal crest on this guy is massive and so are the teeth, it’s a specimen on the larger side for sure. The colored bits you see on the teeth are actually wax, I don’t know what for but the writing suggests it might have been a research specimen or maybe used for making replica casts once upon a time. You can see it has some writing/markings on either side and on the palate, though the markings on the right side are difficult to read.
