Rapid Earlobe Motion.
Uncontrolled intense flapping of the earlobes occuring during intensely distracting periods occasionally to the point of emitting a characteristic rattling noise. This goes in parallel with the release by the brain of a cocktail of confusing hormones and of the emission of somewhat baffling odorous by a gland situated just behind the ears. This effect is highly contagious and has in some instances lead to mass distractions lasting several hours and spreading according to wind directions and population density. The last recorded mass distraction occurred in 1232 A.D., during the canonization of Anthony of Padua, patron saint of lost items.
