episodes that i think every tv show should have:
timeloop
whodunit
musical
beach trip
random genre change (especially if it's to a noir detective thing)
one where they get randomly meta and fourth wall breaky but then never acknowledge it again
one where something happened but we as the audience don't actually get to see how it happened and only see it through the unreliable narrated flashbacks as recollected by the characters
another drawing of my favorite old man
WHEN U LOVE SOMETHING SO HARD BUT THE FANDOM CONSISTS OF APPROXIMATELY SIX OTHER PEOPLE AND A SHOELACE
Proceeds to get his arm broken
As someone who does bouldering and is often called Spider-Man when I climb, I second this
Like that shit is RIGHT UP HIS ALLEY. You got any idea the kind of muscles you get from that shit? The body control and the grip strength you get from doing that on a regular basis? Sure he's Spider-Man and can just stick to the rocks and he's already got super strength but just for a moment imagine with me Peter finding a tiny space in the rock climbing community that's just like:
"Hey kid your form's looking a little off, if you do it this way you wont strain your arms as much and it'll be easier to hold for longer."
"Gee thanks, I appreciate that!"
"Anytime bud!"
And then later finding out that the habits he's picked up means he's less tired while climbing around on patrol?? Or maybe it'd even be a good excuse for how he can climb up to random places that a normal human can't!
"Hey how'd you get up there?"
"Oh I rock climb."
"Understandable. Have a nice day!"
And just imagine Peter being an absolute LEGEND in the gym he goes to. Some random kid that shows up every other week, free climbs three of the hardest routes in a single go, calls it a day, and leaves.
And okay let's not even include the idea that he'd practice techniques, but dont you think it'd be a nice getaway for him? A place where he can just climb over and over and maybe just maybe he finds a calm meditation while doing it? He can scurry around on the walls in a space that's acceptable for him to do so and it wouldn't be weird for him? And maybe just maybe if the employees there notice how freakishly fast he climbs the routes, what if they just mind their own business and leave him to it.
this is a place where he can scurry and be spidery and climb shit without anyone batting an eye
Is anyone going to draw/animate noir to Paint it Black by the Rolling Stones or am I going to have to do that myself
rule #1 of being a child soldier is to have fun and be yourself
Just wanted to say I appreciate you guys for all the love I've gotten on this!!! I honestly thought it was kinda shitty, but figured it was good enough cause it was just a quick thing (I figured I should practice some digital) so I appreciate the hype <3
slowly making up for the art I've never posted
Recently rewatched the whole Daredevil show twice and was reminded of how incredible it was. Got me inspired to draw something again.
spidernoir from the 2009 comics
You know you've been working on something too long when either you start seeing colors or colors suddenly appear
slowly making up for the art I've never posted
i did this very long ago and no, I didn't finish it. I gave up. Why? because I drew this with my FINGER, and I got tired. But I don't think I did half bad. guys I didn't even have the ability to do a clipping mask. I barely had functioning layers. so that's why it's bad. but the second is the most spiderverse stylized one? I guess? idk
alt versions below the cut!
here's some other combos i guess.
Since y'all liked my last post so much, here, have another Noir ramble:
I have four (4) different Noir's in my head. They are as follows:
he is shorter than all of them, he is but a child. He is very angry at the world and will stab you if you do anything slightly evil. Please do not hurt him any more than he already has been hurt. (He has been hurt a lot) In May Parker's words:
So technically he is still an extension of the 2009 comic, but. The universe is really different, and Noir has an entirely different personality. So my headcanon is that this is a different noir- easily seen by the different pallet, going from just sepia to full monochrome. He is my least favorite, but mostly because he is the most mentally stable (imo). He's the private eye, he fights gods on the weekends, and (this gets the most points) he has a cat. He also (artistically) is the most creature, which is a massive win for all Spider-Noir fans.
I'm going to be completely honest, I have not played Shattered Dimensions. But I've watched a bunch of playthroughs, and I have to admit, this Noir has the best fit out of all of them. I know, I know, hot take. But have you seen that spider-symbol on the back of his jacket? And that turtleneck? Also he is so fruity (/pos). Like, he goes "time for some razzle-dazzle" and "You read my mind, sister" and calls Hammerhead "Mister." Idk, he's just so endearing. Also he gets his own spidersense?
And finally, the most well-know goober of them all:
Old old man. When people combine all of them, there's age discourse, but I like to think this is a completley seperate variant (see: getting bitten by a radioactive spider, being a private eye) and also he is much older. Up to you how much. Father of Peni Parker, definitely going to accidentally adopt his younger selves. Doesn't mean hes not also very pathetic sad depressed emo man (/pos).
after catching up on every post I've missed since my absence from foolsocracy, I would like to apologize for what I've done to him.
so basically. yeah. Uhm. Well. So first off, I would like to mention that I was, in fact, in a manic episode when I got the idea. so you cant be mean to me. Look, I know this sounds crazy guys but PLEASE IT'S MY EVERYTHING
He's always been a really mad character. the first thing he did after getting his powers is go to kill goblin. So I figured, lets amp it up by 100. So now, unintentionally, I made him a mix of Punisher and Jigsaw. But he's cooler and more interesting because... uh... he's him? Yeah.
To start off, SCREW THE 2020 NOIR COMICS. THOSE ARE NOT HIM!!! THOSE ARE SO NOT HIM!!! THOSE ARE FAN SERVICE!!!! I am the fan though. That one panel with his double Ds is, in fact, my lockscreen. BUT THATS NOT THE POINT!!! the point is, it's a continuation of the 2009 comics. actually, it continues after Spider-Geddon. Because 2 can play the back from the dead game. Since it's a continuation, I beg of you to please read his comics. please. please oh my god they're so good. like oh my god. I have made a google slideshow about them. guys they are so full of tiny details I gen can't
So he's back after dying. I figured it can be the same way as the canon one. I'm not that creative. OBVIOUSLY some other canon parts have been changed, too. I'm bringing characters who def could have survived back, hence the ability to eat vulture back. which. is what we're doing. well, what he's doing. uhm.
Anyways, he's back from the dead. He rushes home to Aunt May just wanting a hug from her after everything he just went through. Unfortunately, when she sees him (after the initial disbelief) she looks at him with nothing but disgust for him.
So now he's homeless. But he has a cat. Because adding Ding-Ding was such an amazing move in the 2020 comics. So he basically just lives with this cat. He does, eventually, become a PI with his own little abode. Don't ask for more details. I don't know.
Well. Uhm. GUYS I'M SORRY. I HAD TO DO IT. I COULDN'T THINK OF A BETTER REASON TO LOSE YOUR SANITY. GUYS PLEASE I'M SO SORRY. IF YOU ARE ON TIKTOK, YOU MIGHT HAVE SEEN SOMETHING WITH IT, AND YOU BLAMED IT ON BENNY BOY. I'M SORRY. I'M THE ONE WHO DID IT. HE JUST DREW IT.
I killed the cat. Precious Ding-a-Ling is dead.
So he snaps. He's officially lost everything. Aunt May disowned him, Robbie is Robbie, and as of right now MJ is back to war or something. idk. maybe she can be dead too. yeah. MJ is also dead. THE POINT IS, HE HAS NOTHING NOW.
And now, the only thing that brings him any emotion, is after killing a bad person. So he hunts them down. It's like a drug. He has nothing left, so why not? It's not like he can die. At least he's helping people. But after a while, it's just not enough. These people deserve more than an easy way out. He slowly becomes more and more sadistic.
This is where the Vulture comes back. Who else is still alive? Goblin, Montana, Ox, Doc Ock, Shocker, and Mysterio. And since I was bored, Jonah and Felicia are part of this too. Yeah.
One of my beautiful (really shitty) drawings is based off "an eye for an eye", because that's what this is. Revenge. So long story short:
The Vulture: Blood eagle (because he needs wings, duh) and also eaten. He's also! Alive! yeah. Our silly guy knows anatomy. He knows what he can and can't do. (I watched midsommar)
The Goblin: His greatest fear is being locked up in a cage and mocked. So he's kept in a cage. And Since he always had others do his dirty work, it's his turn. He's gotta help clean up and help torture. Also, he's being experimented on. Because once again, Peter Parker is Peter Parker, and he is a nerd
Doc Ock: I originally was going to lobotomize him, but that's BORING!!! So he is now Swiss cheese. yeah. lots of holes drilled into him.
Shocker: Bennett actually came up with this one; electric chair, but he has to power it himself.
Mysterio: White room.
Uhm. I do have more, but this is already long and I don't want to bore you guys if you've read all this for some reason. But thank you if you did! I've actually worked really hard on this entire thing. There's a lot to it. So I hope you enjoyed this???
here's this for now though. idk how old this is but. it's def older. I'm a little better at clothes now, I'd like to think
it's 1:48AM and I accidentally let out the weirdest laugh at that last thing
gotta add another noir variant to the gang
I love you because you read him correctly and have amazing opinions
when they've got interpreting spiderman noir under a specific cultural lens at the function [picture of me going insane]
I cant help myself.. what can i say. And since you've mentioned some research going on behind the scenes.. do you have any fun interpretations? Or even anything fun about the 1800s!
OH HI
Hm. I don't have anything as fun as historical dancing, but I suppose this does give me the excuse (thabk u) to blab about Noir's childishness.
(wow putting this under the cut bc it got longer than I thought it would LMAO)
I think what a lot of people (including Noir's contemporary writers and yes even the spiderverse interpretation) fall for when trying to read Noir's character is the imitation of his idea of what an adult is, that he hides behind. Like Noir's persona is incredibly exaggerated. He's playing pretend. Look here, he's practicing.
A lot of his persona as Noir is imitation! Imitation of his uncle, of Urich, of the violence he's been exposed to. He's running around in his uncle's old uniform. Fundamentally misunderstanding WHY his uncle had been ashamed of it and his role in the war.
And then he goes ahead and steals Urich's alias because it sounds Cool (which is such a teenage thing to do jesus christ).
But like that imitation of The Adult isn't something that's limited to that exaggerated persona that Noir encapsulates. Peter himself is trying So Hard to be grown up and tough and responsible that it loops back around to him being a brat who would try the three guys in a trench coat trick. He even gets beat up for it when trying to defend his aunt. And I mean I've posted about him being a brat.
About how he looks at Urich as a Prime Example of what a strong and knowledgeable adult is (which is part of why he reacts so volatile in response to Urich showing he's not exactly as morally righteous as himself, he's wounded and let down). Whiskey? Whiskey sounds like someone Mature and Cool would drink, I'll have it too. And then proceeds to throw his drink at Osborn and laugh about it. The illusion was broken for me then.
But well it's not broken for everyone. I mean like obviously I poked at the contemporary writers, but I'm more talking about the other characters in the narrative. Mainly Urich and Felicia.
Urich taking Peter under his wing isn't entirely under the motivation to nurture Peter. I think it Becomes that, but he's really envious of that kid. He wants to see him lose that hope that he once had (ruh roh the opposite thing happened, being around the kid made YOU more hopeful Ben. Guess you gotta be good. Hope you don't die now).
Urich really is exposing him to an extremely harsh reality, and taking him places where adults are typically only allowed. He's letting Peter get a glimpse into what it's like, which will eventually enable Noir's tool of violence. All these tests will accumulate into what Peter thinks someone powerful and strong can be and do.
Then his problematic relationship with Felicia (writers I'm malleting you for this). He's clinging to her adulthood and the safety she represents, and he's young but she sees some adult strength in him. I mean she trusts him with the blackmail Urich gave her, which she really. Shouldn't, even if that's what Urich wanted.
Anyway, strength is something she's been consistently drawn to her in her partners. Strength to feel as her own. Even if it's to hers and others' detriment. There's also a part of Peter that's drawn to Felicia because Urich was. He's still honing in the good parts of Urich he wants to be.
I think the one person in the narrative who doesn't fall for it? Is Aunt May. You could argue it's just her being naturally motherly, but for someone who was about to be eaten alive she's pretty frank with Noir. I think she can see that that violence and exaggerated grittiness comes from someone inexperienced and young. Even if she can't consciously recognize the similarities between Noir's persona and Peter's protectiveness of her. I don't think she wants to see that. I actually have a short comic script about that, but it probably will never see the light of day.
Ugh he's like a cat puffing up to scare away a predator. It's fake!!!!! It's all fake!!!!!! He gets intimidated by JJ, he never ties his shoes, gets powers and then immediately guns to beat the shit out of Osborn, sings about the sandman when he's getting his face bashed in, crawls to Felicia all pathetic and sad, and he made a costume to run over roofs at night in.
And it's funny how he's forcing himself to grow up, but also really sad because all the things he's being exposed to is already forcing him to grow up. He's witnessing things no kid should ever see or experience.
Then there's the time period to consider. The aftermath of WWI, being in the midst of the Great Depression, and WWII just around the corner. He's faced incredible hardship and is going to continue to face so much hardship, and he's going to mature faster than he ever should have. It should have made him crash and burn Hard when he became an adult, and to me he still does because I'm ignoring everyone after ewaof LMAO.
As for my research on the 1800s NY that's for my own spider iteration run I'm working on, so not too related to Noir until I reach the 30's :3
Hope that was satisfying!!
my toxic trait is I will look at/say/learn something, and my first thought will often be "I wonder when that happened" or something of the sorts. Then I look it up.
I miss noirverse so bad guys . I need them to come home
i love pretending theyre my ocs and then submitting them as my homework for class
at the end of the day spiderman was still just a kid running around in a pilot's uniform packing a gun that was given to a man instead of a parachute
