Whimsical 3D Book Sculptures by Jodi Harvey-Brown
Pennsylvania-based artist, Jodi Harvey-Brown has achieved the ultimate union between literature and sculpture. Conceptually and structurally intelligent, Brown revives vintage books in the hopes of constructing a unique and vivid sculpture reflective of each piece of literature. She has delved her hands into the classic world of literature, touching base on unforgettable stories, such as Alice in Wonderland, Moby Dick, The Odyssey and more. She says on her website:
“The books that we love to read should be made to come to life. Characters, that we care so much for, should come out of the pages to show us their stories. What we see in our imaginations as we read should be there for the world to see.”
Innovative and extremely imaginative, Brown’s sculpture bring to life some of the most beloved characters and passages in literature. Click on the images above to see if you could guessed each story correctly!

We’re all susceptible to it, the dread and anxiety of not knowing what’s coming. It’s pointless in the end, because all the worrying and the making of plans for things that could or could not happen, it only makes things worse. So walk your dog or take a nap. Just whatever you do, stop worrying. Because the only cure for paranoia is to be here, just as you are. - Grey’s Anatomy

There’s a million things I love about her. I wouldn’t find an ending to the list of things. There’s the way she dances, or looks at me from across the room. The way she eats a burger or the way her face gets when she’s upset. I could tell you that I love her body, or her eyes, or her smile and how it curves a little extra to one side. I wouldn’t find an ending to the list of things but I believe my favorite thing about her is the way she sings. Days when she’s in the shower, as I lay in bed and I can hear her voice echoing through the walls of tiles. They say when you love a woman you have to love her for all of her, her flaws and her passions. I never thought I’d find a singer. A girl who could sing any corny song and somehow it was a new heaven in your eyes. She’ll sing that over played radio song yet when it slips from her lips, it’s as if you had never heard it before. I love her for many things but the way she sings is my favorite thing. There’s something about laying in the next room and hearing her sing lyrics to love songs that remind you, somehow, somewhere you found the path to her happiness. Somehow, you are a naive fool, but somehow you could possibly be the reason she sings so proud-fully, the reason she doesn’t think those love songs are overrated or foolish speaking. There’s a million things I love about her but her singing is my favorite thing. Because there’s something about her voice and how it can bring a man to his knees. Something about the lyrics and how they seem full of peace and certainty. There’s something about the way she hums as she’s in the shower. Something about her voice that gives me reassurance that I’d want no other voice to wake to. No other voice to fight with, no other voice to end my nights with. There’s something about the way she sings that makes me lay in bed knowing I’d want no love song to dance to, if it didn’t include her.

Suspended Spherical Tree House
A perfect chance to escape the modern world without leaving its comforts behind.
❤
Luciano Pia, an architect in Italy, has a beautiful vision for how people and nature can live together even in a thoroughly urban landscape. 25 Verde, an apartment complex he designed in Turin, Italy, is a woven 5-story mix of lush trees and steel girders that let urban residents feel like they live in a giant urban tree-house.
Every step in the building’s design was taken with natural integration in mind. The organic and asymmetric shape of its terraces allow potted trees to “sprout” out from the building at random intervals. The ponds in the courtyard provide residents with a refreshing place to relax in the summer, and the 150 deciduous trees, which lose their trees in the winter, allow light to filter in to the building during the darker months. The building helps keep the city’s air cleaner and isolates the residents from the urban sounds and smells surrounding them. The building, which was completed in 2012, is located at Via Chabrera 25 in Turin, Italy – you can even check it out on Google Maps‘ street view!
