Happy Indigenous People Day! Sacheen Littlefeather declining Marlon Brando’s Best Actor award for his performance in The Godfather in protest of Hollywood’s portrayal of Native Americans, and to draw attention to the standoff at Wounded Knee, March 27th, 1973. He wrote a fifteen page speech, which would not be read onstage due to lack of time, but offstage.
