Taylor Swift for SNL 2019

My music is my diary, but I think years from now it would be really cool to write a book about all the crazy stuff which has gone on and all the insane things I’ve gotten to do. My life moves so fast–I have to write it all down otherwise I can’t remember where I was yesterday. I will write my biography for sure.

I think the media has sent me a really unfair message over the past couple of years, which is that I’m not allowed to date for excitement, or fun, or new experiences or learning lessons. I’m only allowed to date if it’s for a lasting, multiple-year relationship. Otherwise I’m a, quote, ‘serial dater’. Or, quote, ‘boy crazy’.

I blew things out of proportion, now you’re blue.

Words can break someone into a million pieces, but they can also put them back together. I hope you use yours for good, because the only words you’ll regret more than the ones left unsaid are the ones you use to intentionally hurt someone. What you say might be too much for some people. Maybe it will come out all wrong and you’ll stutter and you’ll walk away embarrassed, wincing as you play it all back in your head. But I think the words you stop yourself from saying are the ones that will haunt you the longest. So say it to them. Or say it to yourself in the mirror. Say it in a letter you’ll never send or in a book millions might read someday. I think you deserve to look back on your life without a chorus of resounding voices saying ‘I could’ve, but it’s too late now.’ There is a time for silence. There is a time waiting your turn. But if you know how you feel, and you so clearly know what you need to say, you’ll know it. I don’t think you should wait. I think you should speak now.

Not wanting to change anything about your body, personality, or life

Loving yourself is:

Knowing you have inherent worth regardless of your physical appearance or life circumstance

Knowing you deserve good things

Wanting to take care of yourself because you deserve good things

But if I was told all this, I still would have wanted this life; the idea that I get to write songs as a job is so good that it outweighs anything trivial or ridiculous or irritating.

i know you were on my side, even when i was wrong. i love you for giving me your eyes, for staying back and watching me shine. and i didn’t know if you knew, so i’m taking this chance to say: i had the best day with you today. ♡ | happy mother’s day!!

There’s an old poem by Neruda that I’ve always been captivated by, and one of the lines in it has stuck with me ever since the first time I read it. It says “love is so short, forgetting is so long.” It’s a line I’ve related to in my saddest moments, when I needed to know someone else had felt that exact same way. And when we’re trying to move on, the moments we always go back to aren’t the mundane ones. They are the moments you saw sparks that weren’t really there, felt stars aligning without having any proof, saw your future before it happened, and then saw it slip away without any warning. These are moments of newfound hope extreme joy, intense passion, wishful thinking, and in some cases, the unthinkable letdown. And in my mind, every one of these memories looks the same to me. I see all of these moments in bright, burning, red.

is it may? yes. did i shuffle all my taylor music and not skip christmas tree farm? yes. did it snow today even though last week it was 75 out and i was tanning in my backyard? yes. that’s it. new york is so random i don’t know what else to say.

the worst is having a dream where someone loves you and you can practically feel them touching you and it feels so real and then you wake up and it’s like the life is being sucked out of you and the happiness just drains out of your body and you feel empty again

if you don’t dance or at least have the urge to dance when you listen to paper rings then something is wrong with you and i refuse to believe otherwise

me realizing i have to actually go and do things instead of just scrolling through taylor swift memes on tumblr😬 and when i say “do things” i mean watch the rep tour and miss americana for the 13 billionth time (yes i did just watch miss americana)
