with everything going on in the world, it's so important to stay educated. a lot of these books are banned because there are parallels to dystopia and today. these books are just some that i have read, and i'm working on reading more banned books, so drop your recs below!
1984 by George Orwell
The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood
The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
The Giver by Lois Lowry
The Glass Castle by Jeanette Walls
Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson
The Color Purple by Alice Walker
Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury
You're the Only One I've Told by Meera Shah
**note: by the term, "banned books", it means that these books are frequently challenged, usually by conservative groups, and as a result, these books have been banned in some schools and libraries across the US. so these do NOT mean they are banned everywhere.
BUT the trump administration is aiming to ban A LOT books across the US, and most of the books on here are on their list.**
Gyaru Daisuke / Decora Curly / Jirai Kei Jimmy / Lolita Anya / Mori Kei Swansea. If you care.
This is a hot take but I would like to know what would happen if Jakub Adamczewski and Yennefer of Vengerberg met.
OMG OMG
his incredibly straight bang is back...
if i see one more person describe geralt of rivia as emotionless i'm gonna end up on the news.
even beyond the plot of witcher 3 being Geralt Loves Ciri So So So So So much, two of the best quests in the game, imo, involve geralt beating the everliving shit out of guys who abuse sex workers.
he's often quite stoic, sure, i just don't think that someone who consistently gets pissed at abuses of power (it happens all over the place in 2 and 3, i can't speak for 1 or the books) could ever be reasonably described as emotionless.
Another thing that surprises me in this fandom is that I haven’t seen much of The Witcher fans talk about 1670. They have so much in common from the aesthetic to the polish culture presented in the show. And in my opinion the costume designs, soundtrack and cinematography are wayyy better than the Netflix Witcher show. 1670 feels a lot more like Witcher than the actual Netflix show. I bet the producers of 1670 would do a much better job at making their own adaptation of The Witcher.
