I also beat my bullies with books in middle school and made them afraid of me. I would often times threaten to bring a dictionary plus thesaurus, hard back, if they continued after a week, they pretty much stopped bothering me forever till I moved. It was a bluff, I never had such a book, but they didn’t know that. All they knew was that I was a nerd and not a liar, so they didn’t know I was bluffing.

They were still pretty scared of me though after I got into many fights and won.

When I was 5, there was a bonfire in the side estate of my aunts. 

I don’t remember much. There was a metal dragon that i never saw again, and a shed full of things to burn.

I remember the heat most of all. The burning, blazing, scorching lick of the flames against the late June air.

The papers that burned quickly seem to have my name written over and over again in my memory.

I wonder if I’ve been burning ever since.
