Wall Between Us . Forgot how I planned to start this thread but one of my… many New Year’s Resolutions will be to stop drawing just “because”. I won’t draw anything that I won’t be fully committed and interested in. So that was another project that won’t ever get finished but trying honestly, it also died after what.. episode 2, 3, 1? I will draw what I myself actually feel I can be proud of and focus and stuff that I might be better at and if it doesn’t live up to my expectations, then it will just get dumped into the garbage can or collect dust on my drive. It’s not like “activity” or some “algorithm” that just seems to help those who already have made it (just like some old teachers of mine :D) have helped me anyway so I don’t lose on just.. drawing what I want to draw and because I find it fun and relaxing. And if people on the internet like it.. cool. If they don’t.. Well, at least I finally do. But going back to “not draw just “because "", no clue what to do after this. The Miraculous Season-project sucked and both my Justice League and Avengers are almost done so I will have to come up with something new to do and that’s not always easy. Some Miraculous-Ideas and hopefully will do more Star Wars… book accurate Fellowship of the Rings? I have a Batman-Poster idea but that can wait till October. Spider-Man Day is in August… will have to be better on keeping track of birthdays cause the only tribute I remember was Jack Kirby but there are other legends that could be fun to give attention to. Two years today (I think) I have been drawing these two on a regular basis! Time sure flies by

And yet another Saturday-upload that was planned as a Friday. And the one thing this week that was planned for a set deadline and didn’t actually meet it.

But last year I did a random Winter-Max-thing and I thought it was fun how much I got right with the release of Double Exposure. That green jacket (even if a lot less detailed, I had just discovered my interest in fashion), those yellow-ish gloves, the overall winter-theme and cosy forest.

Not the scarf tho, and she apparently still kept the sweatshirt… which she only uses under the jacket… so a LOT of layers to keep herself warm. I did plan to make the hat yellow as well to match the glow but thought it would be fun for her to just borrow Chloe’s blue one.

But yeah, just me once again wondering how I became a gardener and not a professional… concept artist? Brainstormer? Coffeemaker? Chair? IF I HAD A COIN for every random thing I find myself predicting to my interests, I could buy myself a singular chocolate bar.

Loved when I started working on this, I had a clear picture in my head and when I came around to the end, I had no clue where I was going

I love Fantastic Four, my favourite comics, my favourite team; never had a bad time reading Fantastic Four-issues. Okay, sometimes but less than others. And Reed is my favourite member. I find him super-interesting. He got this unmatched talent to just hyperfixate, obsess on problems and to deep-dive into anything that he comes across. He has this natural curiosity and genuine interest in everything and wants to learn as much as possible and I have kind of the same and he inspires me to lean in on that.

And I love how this fixation and obsessive behaviour can be interpreted as self-absorbed or cold but also having a foundation in care and shame and a need to take care of his family.

And that’s also an important aspect of him, the guilt of the first space-travel and destroying the four’s lives. So everything that he does that doesn’t revolve around his natural intellect and the responsibility of that, is around his family and giving them the best possible lives with their… unique situations.

And yeah, he can be cold, he can be stubborn and he has walls and not ashamed of who he is and what he can do and can without a doubt make the worst choices but he’s still deep down a good man and doing what he does for the safety of his family.

And I just love seeing this in media, this keyhole-view on things, this ultra-everness yet complete oblivion to his surroundings and lack of understanding of others and their emotions, not that he doesn’t care, he just didn’t think that far or understood as much in those particular topics.

And I can’t wait to see what Daddy Pascal will do with this character.
