stupid poll time
ignoring your own opinions on everyone, thinking ONLY of how the characters view each other,
leaving teddy out since he doesn't work there anymore but I think he'd be up there
For the one on the right, I think that's right over the moment when almost everyone's talking about Call like an object, grabbing her and everything. Then Ripley8 gives her this protective, comforting gesture, and you see them realize their kinship as creatures designed as tools, women who are very literally objectified. After so much loneliness they have each other.
The quality kinda sucks for these gifs but I love these moments where Ripley or Call touches the other's arm/shoulder
It's such a small detail between Ripley and Call that isn't really talked about a lot, it's these small moments that make me love these two even more

TMAGP's liminal spaces so far (EP 7 spoilers):
1. The Graveyard, the Magnus Institute
2. In5oul's studio
3. The Garden
4. N/A? Perhaps where the protagonist met the merchant
5. The Theater
6. N/A? Does an alley count? Does a call station count?
7. Hill Top
I'm calling them liminal bc they're described only at certain times of day (middle of the night for the graveyard) or in terms that make their entrances and exits, as well as the passage of time within them, unclear (like the tattoo studio and the garden). The theater preserved from childhood memories, yet staffed with only one employee, the Magnus Institute where doors are all open while it lies abandoned, etc., feel solidly liminal to me.
Hill Top is mainly there because of, y'know, but I do think the events of 7 make it a space with unclear limits and volume. It would be ironic if it has nothing to do with Hill Top Road.
I feel like the OIAR office is liminal (between sunset and sunrise, for one thing). The sheer vibes off that place!
DPHW reminds me of the Aarne Thompson index for fairy tales. I wonder if they're categorizing the type of tale, more than scoring it on qualities?
You cannot quit the Archives even if there's an apocalypse and you die and get exported to another universe. You still gotta read statements.

Spoilers for severance season 2 episode 9 belowwwwwww
Pretty confident that's Helena in 9:
-she refers to Europe, Zimbabwe, and the Equator. As indicated by Mark S.'s reaction, an innie wouldn't even know "The Equator" is necessarily a place. I feel like it would be crazy nuts if an innie could recall place names by just trying hard enough, wouldn't that be baby's first reintegration?
-she says "I'm her, Mark." I don't think such a loaded line is accidental, but besides that, it matches Helena's moment of vulnerability with Mark at the ORTBO. It's a double meaning of baller proportions tbh. "Helly" is saying she's the same person as Helena, Helena thinks she can be everything Helly is, and the fundamental truth - she's literally Helena Eagan right now.
-the speech to music and choreography parallels Helena's speech to Mammalians Nurturable, as others pointed out. You've opened my eyes.
-When James visits Helly, it feels like he's paying his respects in a way. This is completely subjective but I think he was there to say goodbye.
-I don't think Helly would smile running away with Mark S. while Gemma beats at the door screaming her husband's name.
Anyway. Mark's reintegrating. Gemma's (fingers crossed) free. I'm rolling around like a pig in shit
I like this interpretation! I'm thinking the Magnus Institute is not the problem. The problem is what left it - all those papers, gone.
Previously the statements were how the Eye fed, but the tape web of recorded statements was how the fears got exported to another world.
So if the statements escaped the Institute, maybe that's a Pandora's Box?
To be fair, Red canary also brought back a box 🧐
can't stop thinking about red canary.
Like it has to be a red herring+mine canary symbology combo. It's meant to send us on the wrong path. AND it's a serious warning. So the institute IS a genuine danger, but it's not the place to get answers? Do we interpret it as a message to the listeners or the characters?
Happy to share that I have illustrated Kristen Britain's new Green Rider novel, 'Falling in a Sea of Stars' coming later this year from DAW books. The commission request was made for me, with a field of stars and Karigan in armor!
Hard to believe, this is the eighth painting I have created for Kristen since first tackling High King's Tomb back in 2006!
