Recollection Drabbles: Restless

Side Note: This is a drabble from my Ninjago fanseason - Recollection. If you need a bit of context, you can read up on it here!!

Each of the ninja made their way to their suites, and drifted into a quiet slumber. Save for Lloyd, who puzzled over one word. Resurrection. What could Clouse possibly be resurrecting? He knew he’d find out in the morning, but heck if the thoughts didn’t consume him. Those memories of Harumi came front and center, gnawing at him with every scene that replayed in his head. The resurrection of Garmadon.

He repeatedly tapped his hands together. Clammy. He rocked his leg from side to side, then opted to toss and turn his whole body. He kept hope that he could push the thoughts down and sleep. A comfortable position is all he needed. He couldn’t. He just. Couldn’t. His worries gave his body jolts of energy that could not be soothed, nor sated. Eventually, he just threw the sheets up, got on his feet, and made his way to the door. Maybe I should just drink some tea. Maybe that’ll help. The door swung open, and he rubbed his eyes as he peered around. Where was the kitchen again?

As his eyes peered around, he caught an unusual glimpse. Someone in a peacock mask. The green cloak that wrapped around them didn’t drag - rather, it draped down to their kneecaps. Still, not much could be made out in the dark. The two locked eyes for a solid moment, even through the mask. 

Something was definitely off, but he kept a smile and relaxed tone when talking to the new figure. After all, maybe it was just the worries already there that were getting to him. “Excuse me, but… do I… know you?” Silence. “Hello?” Lloyd took a step forward. “I, uh, just need to find my way to the kitchen.” Step. “It’s a bit late, isn’t it?” Step. “Why are you up?” Step. “Maybe we could talk about it?” Step. “Buddy?” Step. “…Pal?" 

This new masked fellow stepped back. Still not a peep from them. "I see you’re not in the mood to talk. At least point me in the way of the kitchen?” Still calm, still giving a dorkish smile. The masked figure slid a hand out of their cloak, pointing the right way. “Uhh… Thank you. See you later?” Pause. “Never mind. I, uh… I’ll go.” With that, Lloyd left, his awkward smirk not yet fading.

The masked figure crept into Yuuki’s suite. Yuuki stared down at some fabric, stitching it together. She didn’t even glance up. “Trouble sleeping, pumpkin?”

“I still don’t see why I need to,”

“You don’t. However, you should. It provides a great benefit, even in your current state. Take a deep breath. Remember what we talked about,”

“I guess… I don’t know. Maybe I’m just a bit… nervous?” Yuuki glanced up at the masked figure and put down her needle. “It sounds stupid…”

“No, it does not… It is going to be a lot, I know. It is not what we expected and you are justly nervous. But I can tell you have been getting better since we first met. I am proud of you, and, if I am being honest, I think you will do just fine,”

The figure sat on the bed, their head hung low. “What if it isn’t ‘just fine’?”

“What if there were no more 'what-if’s?”

“…You know, someone once asked me that before…” reminiscence carried in their voice.

“…Do you want to just sleep in my bed again? It should not be too long before I join you,”

They nodded. “Yeah. I just… yeah. That would be nice,”

“Alright, then. Remember what we agreed. Goodnight,” And with that, the candle on her desk soon blew out. Silence fell over the whole palace, and the moon soon began its descent into the ground.

this au is just what if golden weapons chose nya back then when wu wanted to check if she is the green ninja.

well here weapons chose her. i mean: two of them. nunchucks of lightning and sword of fire.

and scythe of quakes and shurikens of ice chose lloyd.

and that’s how they are both the green ninja XD

some random facts:

> lloyd has trouble with learning how to use lightning and fire powers, while nya can’t really control earth and ice. but they both will eventually learn it, but this is very hard for them, bc of the weapons that chose them.

> they still have their elemental powers – i mean nya has water and lloyd has energy. nya will find out about her powers much earlier

> morro is alive here :D. he is adopted by wu and just travels around the realms trying to find tomb of the first spinjitzu master. he just wants to do it for wu. he is an e-boys. and also very bitter bc of his gremlin cousin being the green ninja. he bonds with kai.

and that’s it.

i still don’t know how a lot of things should work, but i am trying to figure it out.

also i don’t want to spoil anything important in case that i will do a comic for this or something XD
