It's quite the experiance to have a mutual who dives head first into a new fandom. Over night, you're boards gets flooded by 40+ posts. fanart, gifs, quotes, meta. During the next days, there are 200+ more posts, they make up 80% of your dash. You learn SO MUCH about this fandom, the story arcs, the characters, the deeper psychology behind it all, and it's fantastic.
The only thing you DON'T learn is what the source material is called. 😂
I turn 30 next month so here’s what I learned in my 20s:
—don’t work for startups, they’re always one ‘innovative idea’ away adding ‘sell your kidneys on the black market’ to your job description.
—keeping a collection of basic OTC medicine on you will save your life one day. I recommend Advil, Imodium, and TUMS.
—those little single-use glasses cleaning wipes are 1000% worth the money
—overly self-depreciating jokes just make people uncomfortable, wean yourself off of them
—you can buy dehydrated mini marshmallows in bulk online and they’re a godsend for hot cocoa
—people don’t care if you have fidget toys on your desk they just want to play with them
—try to go to bed BEFORE the existential ennui kicks in
i experienced a bad emotion so i won't be functioning for at least 5 business days. hope you understand
you can't oppression olympics your way out of how your trauma affected you.
I'm convinced mama dragons carry their babies around in their mouth for protection, like how crocodiles do...
karaoke bar where you're forced to sing your top song from spotify wrapped. how well do you perform it?
One day, if it hasn't already come to pass, your favourite music, fashion, art, will be defined by the prefix "dad-" or "mom-".
