i keep going back to this thought of like adult, pro-hero, brick-wall-of-a-man bakugou still being just so insecure. like he works hard for his body and he's not stupid, he knows that it's strong and is what it needs to be for his line of work, for being a pro, for protecting those that he loves—but he's always had an issue with...people.

yeah, as an older man, that's fallen away some and he's learned to let go of all the little battles he wants to start, how to ignore challenges that aren't there, but he's still bakugou, and people have this perception of him and his personality and attitude and he knows it's not unfounded, but...what good is there to say about him, really? that he's got a fit body? big fucking whoop.

a hot body isn't what's gonna keep you around.

and it's frustrating, because you smile at him and laugh at the shitty things he says and you forgive him, even when he can't apologize, and you understand the space he just needs sometimes. there are days when he wants to sleep alone because he'd done it all of his life, until you came around, and there are days he doesn't want to speak—to you or anybody—because every little thing is grating on his nerves, there are days when he wants to get out of the house and fuck off to hike, somewhere far without cell service, and only come back once he's sweaty and tired and in need of a shower.

and that's—he's not stupid. who wants to put up with that? him, and all that he entails? all you have to just accept, because he doesn't know how to change it.

it's not as if he doesn't want to spend time with you; some days that's all he wants. your attention, your touch, your little affections, your approval. a reminder that you do still love him, even after everything, and yeah, you say it every night and every morning and before you hang up the phone, but—what about all the times in between? even when he wants to be alone, he still thinks about you, too much maybe, for how much space he's willingly created for himself.

the face you make when you eat something too soon from the oven or when you pretend not to cry at some stupid movie. the shirt you wore last thursday and how well the color looked against your skin. how warm you are first thing in the morning, when he rolls over to make sure you're still there. what you smell like right out of the shower—do you smell like him, on the days you wear his shirts out of the house? does it make you think about him, too, all day? do you even like the way he smells or the way he dresses? how he cuts his hair or the shoes he wears on casual days, when he doesn't have to go work and he's not having dinner with his witch of a mother?

you're...attracted to him. right? gotta be, because if you aren't then all you have is his personality and that—there's just no fucking way. you've gotta be, because you kiss him and touch him and bother him in the shower and sometimes he looks at you across the table and you're giving him this look that drives him fucking crazy and—he's just bad at asking for things, for anything. 'specially for you.

sometimes you make him feel like a virgin fucking schoolboy, that doesn't know how to touch or be touched and so he does petty shit, little things that are supposed to drive you crazy, too. not like he really knows for sure, because the minute you look too long when he's shirtless, he wants to launch his own embarrassing ass off a cliff. he'll never admit to it, but yeah, he eats strawberries that way on purpose, messy while watching you, and he stands at the edge of your bed in a low-slung towel until he's nearly dry, just furthering some mindless conversation so that you'll stay awake and looking at him. when he's at the gym, he'll send a snapchat he took way too long posing for, just to respond with a "yeah", or he'll pretend he doesn't know why it's a big deal that he decided to forgo boxer briefs under his sweatpants.

bakugou wants to be wanted, but he doesn't know how to make himself worth wanting, and doesn't know how to ask either—but he's learning; placing his face between your shoulderblades when he wants you to turn to him in bed, resting his forehead on your knee when he's sorry and can't say why, drawing a heart on a sticky note, quick and shitty, before he has time to get embarrassed, nipping at the skin under your earlobe when he wants you, the blush on his cheeks probably searing into the skin of your neck.

insecure but trying, trusting. isn't that what love is anyway?

cuddling with the bnha boys

midoriya would be so excited. he loves affection but is always so blushy and shy about it, and the fact that you want to hold him makes him so happy. you cuddle into his chest, and let out a sigh of content. he’s almost on the brink of tears because he loves you so much.

bakugo secretly is so touch starved, but he’s too afraid to initiate any affection. so when you snuggle up to him, he blushes and insults you for being so needy. but if you try to leave, he’ll just hold on to you tighter and give you another tsundere response, both of you knowing it’s a lie.

another touch deprived boy is todoroki. he doesn’t know what cuddling is, but he’s willing to give it a try if it makes you happy. he’s a little stiff at first, but will eventually sink into your touch. nobody has ever shown him kindness before, and in that moment he realizes just how much he needs you.

kirishima would probably ask you to cuddle first. he’d be so excited if you said yes, giving you his signature toothy grin. crashes into the couch as you fall on top of him, laughing tiredly. he’s a bit worried he might hurt you with his quirk, but you reassure him you’ll be fine.

kaminari would be buzzing with excitement, small bolts of lightning radiating around him. he’d be a little jittery in the beginning, but usually calms down and falls asleep. admiring his pretty face, you smile and just cherish this moment.

shocked shinsou when you cling to him like a koala and absorb his warmth. still a bit surprised, he wraps his arms around you and plants a kiss on top of your head. he’s still getting used to having a significant other, but he loves it nonetheless.

blushing tamaki turns tomato red when you suggest this idea. it’s not that he doesn’t want to be near you, it’s that he’s afraid of messing up. after lots of reassurance, he finally caves and you pull him closer. after he thinks you’re asleep, he mumbles sweet nothings in your ear, unknowing that you’re still awake.

dabi just stares at you. you want to do what? with him? he’ll hide his initial reaction by teasing you a bit before obliging your request, because honestly, how you he say no to such a pretty face? he uses his quirk to warm you up, loving the way you hold him tighter.

grinning hawks just beams with happiness. he puts down whatever he was working on, he can’t resist not having you in his arms a moment longer. he wraps his wings around you, and starts making the cutest coos. occasionally he fluffs his wings, tickling you in the nose as you both beam at each other.

Bakugou x reader

warnings: none, thunderstorms lol.

a/n: Just a lil something based on my adventures last night haha

The first crackle of thunder sounds throughout the house and Katsuki takes the headphones off his ears and pauses his game. He stares at the door to the game room with a tiny smirk.

“Yo Blasty, you good over there? Why are we paused?” Denki says over the headset.

“Just gimme a damn second Sparky. I’m waiting on somethin’,” he says, eyes still locked on the closed door.

Lightning lights up the sky a few minutes later and right after, a large crack of thunder shakes the house so much Katsuki winces slightly. His smile widens as he hears the commotion in the house.

A door being wrenched open, a pair of soft stomps getting closer to the game room door and then finally, the door bursting open to show a very terrified you standing in the doorway looking at Katsuki with wide eyes and your hands cupped over your ears.

“Ahh there she is,” Katsuki says, chuckling to himself. He holds a hand out to you and very quickly you tiptoe over to him, grab his hand and slip onto his lap to bury your face in his neck.

“What’s going on man, you good?” It’s Kirishima’s voice this time, a hint of worry in his voice.

“Tsk, yeah I’m good. Will just have a guest with me for the rest of the time we’re playin’,” he says, wrapping an arm around your back to maneuver you so he can comfortably reach the mouse. Another rumble of thunder and you whimper and tighten your grip around his neck.

“Where are your headphones Sweets?” he asks softly in your ear.

“Dead and charging,” you reply in a muffled voice from his neck.

He chuckles again. “S’alright. I gotcha,” he whispers.

You’re so goddamn cute when you’re like this. You’re usually not this clingy. Sure, you like to hold his hand when the two of you are out, or you drape a leg over him when the two of you are sitting on the couch watching tv, but usually you’re to yourself, quiet and vibing.

“Tell the guys I say hi,” you say, as your breath tickles his neck.

“They can hear ya,” he replies ”Don’t be rude fuckers, say hi to my girl,” he bites back.

A chorus of hellos ring out from the headsets and you smile at the screen before another thunderclap hits and your back to hiding in Katsuki’s neck.

Katsuki won’t admit it aloud but thunderstorms are his favorite. It never fails. Whenever the storms start you find him wherever he is in the house and cling to him for dear life. He knows you’re strong, knows you don’t usually show this vulnerability around anyone else but he loves that you show it with him. He loves the idea that when you’re completely terrified you run to him, you seek him out, you trust him enough to protect you.

So he holds you and rubs your back as you koala onto him during the storm. He places soft kisses on your forehead between cool downs and breaks while he’s gaming with the rest of his friends and when your headphones are finally charged, he plays with one hand so you can sit at his feet and squeeze his hand when the thunder is too loud for the music to drown out.

“Alright fuckers, don’t think just cuz I’m gaming with one hand you’ll be able to beat me. I’ll dominate you all,” he says as he gives you one last peck on the forehead and unpauses the game.

Bakugou who invites you over for dinner for mother's day. You are shown a bunch of baby photots, seeing a bunch of keep sakes- the whole bit. But was most important was his room, it was literally if you took his personality and painted a room with it. From top to bottom you could pretty much guess everything about him, his aspirations- his loves his dislikes- everything. And he didn't mind sharing them with you, at all.

You’ve been on the interview circuit all day with Katsuki. The clock now reaching seven pm, your aching cheeks and growling stomach were begging for this day to be over, and as if the gods heard your silent prayers, you were both informed this would be the last interview of the day.

Katsuki sighs next to you and slumps into the couch that had been your home for the day. As if forgetting where you both were, he reaches out to play with your hair. Wrapping a lock around his index finger, Katsuki twirls the hair before pushing it back behind your ear with a softness only shown behind your apartment door. He trails his fingers over your cheek and down your jaw, palm flattening over your skin to cup your face, and only after he moves slightly forward as if to lean in for a kiss does he stop and pull back.

“Did'ya wake up?” you tease the now blushing pro-hero. Katsuki shakes away the haze that had filled his head, blinking a few times before dragging his hands over his face. “I-fuck. I’m so tired.”

“If you keep doing that, you’re gonna get wrinkles.” You wrap your fingers around his wrist and try to pull them away, but Katuski doesn’t budge.

“If I get wrinkles, will they stop making me do these stupid interviews?” His voice is muffled.

You hum as if thought before finally answering. “You’ll probably get more. You’ll be seen as a wise old hero who appeals to all ages of fangirls.”

Katsuki groans and pulls his hands away from his face. Your hand slips from his wrist to entwine with his fingers. The rough calluses and scars from years of raining and work are comforting as you squeeze his hand.

“But would you still love me if I have wrinkles?” Bakugou turns to you.

“I’d love you even if you were a worm,” you swear and push up from your spot to press a loving kiss against his cheek.

Katsuki scoffs. “Really? A worm?”

“Mhmm. A slimy, old, wrinkly worm.”

He turns his face to yours. Eyebrows furrowed in disbelief before bursting into giggles. “You freak” He kisses your nose. “Worm fucker”

You start to laugh even as you kiss him quickly. Katsuki returns the kiss, now laughing with you as you giggle into each other’s mouths.

“Alright, love birds, we’re on in 30. Either keep going on national tv or stop it” The producer’s voice cuts through your moment.

Bakugou kisses you once more before pulling away. He lets go of your hand but places it gently in your lap before settling into his spot on the couch.

“I’d love you too,“ he mumbles.

"As a worm?” you tease, a smile forming on your lips.

“As a worm,” he confirms and winks at you, which has you beaming up at him.

“Alrighty. Live in 3, 2, 1.”
