In fucking order Shinkami Kiribaku Erasermic

One of my absolute favorite fanfic tropes is what I call "the only exception":

Character A is a well-known hermit among their friend group and would rather die than go out with you. But then you look at Character's B Instagram and see Character A in almost every picture because they keep trying new cafes together, going to movies, visiting museums, and doing craft lessons.

Character A is the only person in his friend group capable of cooking, while his other friends are walking fire hazards. Because of this, they are permanently banned from the kitchen and Character A will chop into stew anyone who dares to step foot into their territory. But then you woke up from a nap and stumbled into the kitchen to get a glass of water only to notice Character B sitting on the counter swinging their legs and stealing pieces of carrots from the cutting board. Character A lets them do that without a single word, only mumbling about Character B losing their appetite from all the snacks.

Character A is not much of a talker and would avoid conversations at all costs. If they have no other choice, Character A will simply nod or shake their head when necessary. But then you see them in Character B's company, the biggest chatterbox imaginable, talking Character A's ears off, and they not only don't mind it but also answer back, indulging in the conversation.

Probably the most popular one - Character A doesn't like physical touch and is known to actively avoid it from his friends and family. Getting to hold their hand is like a reward, and hugging them is the ultimate win in life. But then you notice Character B laying their head on Character A's shoulder without being pushed away. When Character B landed in Character A's lap, the latter simply adjusted the phone so they both could see the screen. If Character B hugged Character A from behind, the latter would simply lean into the touch.

And the best part? When you dare to ask if they're dating or not, the answer is always either "What? No!" or "Are you dumb?"

at some point you have to realize that you actually have to read to understand the nuance of anything. we as a society are obsessed with summarization, likely as a result of the speed demanded by capital. from headlines to social media (twitter being especially egregious with the character limit), people take in fragments of knowledge and run with them, twisting their meaning into a kaleidoscope that dilutes the message into nothing. yes, brevity is good, but sometimes the message, even when communicated with utmost brevity, requires a 300 page book. sorry.

The worst part is its true. Thats way you work your ass off to be a powerless hero. You fight the stereotypes your society believes. But even with the fact that you escaped the moment the villain leaves you alone, his words haunt you cause they're true.

Oh gods yes, just wait till you read a shinbaku with that or just that scene in Shinsou's pvp gods its bad. related to what your saying, I want to touch on the point of absolute victory vs fair/redemption. Bakugo won a absolute victory that he didn't believe was a fair fight, but it wasn't honored. In the same vein all might is more focused on a absolute victory over the villains which worries me over what might the reaction be if Izuku does manage to save them and bring around their redemption and if it would even be allowed

i read a fic where they show the horror side of the muzzle incident in the sports festival and now that i am rewatching it - it’s asinine that they did that to Kacchan. Like im not even kidding, i HATE that they did that.

Like if he was having such a hard time then why put him in the reward ceremony? he obviously won, what the fuck was the point of that outside of comedic relief?

I think Horikoshi did this on purpose in a way, it shows that the visuals and the entertainment is more important than the wellbeing of the students. Which is something that we seen often throughout the series.

Heroes of Olympus except its not the leaders that are swapped but the Oracle and the Augur.

Octavian just embodies the vibe of "I'm surrounded by idiots." He is very much in need in caffeine and is just done with everything.

And yet very efficient and not one to take lightly.

Octavian has threatened to stab anyone who laughs at his teddy bear routine. Saying he'll get the next prophecy from using them as a sacrifice.

He's got a very dry sense of humour and in a way reminds everyone of Dionysius.

He's also nice under it all but if you say that he will stab you.

As for Rachel.

She's surrounded by a bunch of pretentious folk trying to tell her what to do.

It's like being back home all over again.

And frankly, she's over it.

Rachel has tried to explain that she cant just magic up a prophecy but no ones listening.

So she grabs a knife, some painting supplies and shuts herself up in her new quarters.

Doesn't come out until they'll listen to reason.

Rachel makes it clear she will do what she wants, whatever that is and is endlessly amused at how pissed that makes people.

She was born to cause chaos.

No one tells her what to do, no one.
