A Man Self Immolated In Front Of The Israeli Embassy In Washington Dc Yesterday. Not Just Any Man. An

a man self immolated in front of the israeli embassy in washington dc yesterday. not just any man. an active member of the us air force. he live streamed his death, and said that he refused to be complicit in a genocide any longer. he said that compared to what palestinians were facing every day, setting himself alight was nothing.

let me reiterate. an active duty air force member burned himself alive because he was so disgusted by what the us government was openly supporting. he live-streamed his own suicide, so the whole world could bear witness as a man in his military uniform set himself on fire to protest his government’s complicity in the horrors that we have all been forced to watch happen in real time. he became a new horror. footage of the immolation blurs him out the moment the fire catches, but you can hear him. it is over in seconds, really, but you can hear him screaming. he shouts “free palestine” until his body physically cannot make any sounds other than guttural screams of agony. and then he falls silent. a police officer arrives and points a gun at his still burning body, shouting at him to get down on the ground. and it is over.

his name was Aaron Bushnell. he was twenty five years old. and he isn’t here anymore because the political ruling class has decided that genocide is perfectly fine as long as it preserves imperialism. in the coming days, people will try to discredit him. to say that he was mentally unstable. they will try to bury his actions to save face and defend israel’s propaganda. do not let them. aaron knew what he was doing. he knew what he was doing when he put on his military uniform, set up his twitch stream, and made his final walk up to the embassy. he knew what would happen to him when he flicked that lighter. do not let them forget. aaron’s blood is on the hands of the political ruling class.

i saw the tv glow is like. your childhood queer best friend got out of your town and got to live their better life as themself. your queer friend got out of your town and killed themselves because their delusions won them over. no matter your interpretation, you never see them again.

Rewatched The Good Place for the first time since s4 dropped and. Oh my god. The Good Place said "people are a result of their environment but we always have a moral responsibility to be better" and The Good Place said "every day the world gets a little more complicated and it gets a little harder to be good" and The Good Place said "even in the face of total nihilism, when nothing you do will matter, you still have to at least try. Because trying is better than the alternative" and The Good Place said "if you have bills to pay and shit to deal with you don't have time or energy to become a better person" and then The Good Place really said "people get better when they get external love and support. How can we hold it against them when they don't " and THEN The Good Place really said "no one is irredeemable. Everyone can try to be better today than they were yesterday" AND THEN! The Good Place said "Heaven is just enough time with the people that you love" OH MY FUCKING GOD.

Grief is such a funny little thing because sometimes you’re just going about your day and then you remember you never came out to your Nana, and also if she was here she would fully love and support you (even if she had no clue what was happening) and also slap the shit out of your Dad for being an ass

Hehehehe but like what if you didn’t, for my sanity 🔫

i wrote a twin cinema poem about two gay soldiers in wwi

I Wrote A Twin Cinema Poem About Two Gay Soldiers In Wwi

context: the two sides, read separately, are the two soldiers thinking about their futures with each other. when read together, it's a reflection of their final thoughts when they die together struck by bullets <3

My Aimsey and Guqqie art that I started a while ago, forgot about and finished! Fitting for pride month 🏳️‍🌈 (also don’t look too closely at the eyes, I suck at drawing them)

and we were supposed to be the saviors. the generation to fix it all. but they left us with a broken planet and no tools to fix it and then they sneered when we came to them, empty handed.

“you’re so privileged,” they chortle. “it’s because you’re always on your phone.”

we are the kids living in a nightmare. they say we’re numb to 9/11 but maybe that’s because what was the worst day for them could become just another thursday for us. school shootings every other day and a rapist on our Supreme Court but hey, that’s how it is, right? at least we have memes to tide us over until doomsday. this hellscape is somehow normal. our president says people should be deporting for kneeling during the national anthem and all we can is laugh at it. but we are no longer laughing because it’s a joke.

we’re laughing because we’re afraid.

afraid that the world is going to end before we even become adults, afraid that we’ll be plunged into another war because of a fucking tweet, afraid of shooters coming in through our doors and children being taken from their homes and the problem is that our fear is justified. that it’s real and it’s happening.

nearly everyone i know is queer, depressed, and/or sick of the adults in this world. sick of how 71% of our pollution is caused by 1% of the population. sick of how we can only sit here and listen to them tell us to take shorter showers because there’s nothing else we can do.

and fuck, have we tried to do everything we can. walk-outs, protests, boycotts. speak up and speak out, but it’s just too late. they’ve been digging underneath us this whole time and it’s only now that the floor’s collapsing that we see the pit. how it’s not that they’re not hearing us anymore. trust me, we’ve made sure they’ve heard. it’s just that they don’t care.

and suddenly all those dystopian futures don’t look so far away. you know, where people die in the streets because doctors refuse to see them. where people are silenced (shot, jailed, deported) for speaking out. sometimes I think I’ll wake up and everyone will be marching in rhythm.

they told us to save the world, but we never had a chance.
