My headcanons for how Petalsnake (Lucius x Petunia) played out

My backstory for them is that in 1979 Voldemort was tracking down the Potters (not particularly for prophecy reasons just because they were powerful adversaries and he wanted them gone) and so he decided to try and use Petunia to get to Lily. She’s taken to Malfoy Manor where she meets Lucius for the first time.

They definitely don’t instantly connect but I see him accidentally getting to know her better and having to face the fact muggles aren’t all they seem (he later rejects this line of thought and decides it’s just Petunia that’s the exception so he doesn’t have to confront changing his own ideology)

Petunia plays along and pretends to know where Lily is (she doesn’t) for a bit because despite being in a hostage situation she’s finally involved in the world she’s been locked out of for so long

Her opinion on this changes when Voldemort comes and seriously threatens her for the first time and she realises her life, and her sister’s life, are in danger

Lucius, having grown close to her decides to help her escape and anonymously contacts the Potters and then makes it possible for a rescue to occur

Back home, Lucius gives her a way to contact him and says she can decide if she ever wants to see him again (this is referenced in my fic a date to remember) but eventually ends up coming and asking her on a date anyway

Throughout the rest of 1979 they see each other regularly, with their dates continuing throughout 1980 and early 1981 but declining a little due to Lucius’ circumstances

Finally after the events of October 31st in 1981, Petunia cuts off all contact with Lucius and destroys any evidence she ever knew him. Lucius, who would’ve personally continued the affair, was more affected by this than Petunia, mainly because she was focused on grieving a sister she’d spent most of the time disliking and taking in a child she didn’t want

They have no contact with each other at all until after Voldemort’s defeat, but they both decide not to resume their affair

Lucius does go to Petunia’s funeral but stays mostly out of the way (because canonically she died sometime before 2020 and was somewhere between 38 and 61 when it happened 😭)

I love and support you all who are shipping Regulus/Umbridge rn, but I feel it is based on the HP wiki reasoning the latest possible date for her birth is 1961, not that she WAS born in 1961. I do not think she and Regulus were the same age. If Sirius had been at school with her, I think we would have heard about it from him (I mean, he’s got some choice words about Bertha Jorkins…)

My point is that you’re missing the possibility (probability) in which Regulus/Umbridge is actually a 15+ year age gap. And it’s wonderfully horrible to consider. I think he’s her little kitty. I think she dresses him up.

The “Evan” Rosier that has been adopted by the Marauders fandom, bf of Barty Crouch Jr. & Regulus Black, twin brother of Mrs. Lovegood, was NOT the one who hexed off a chunk of Moody’s nose, and his first name might not even be Evan.

Okay, so in the books there are two Rosiers, one classmate of Tom Riddle and one of the first DEs, and the other in the Slytherin Proto-DE gang that Snape was in. We hear of both the Rosiers in GOF first.

This is the line talking about Marauders Era Rosier in GOF:

This Rosier can’t be the Evan Rosier who took a chunk out of Moody’s nose, because they died in 1980. The Rosier who was responsible for Moody’s less-than-whole nose was captured and killed at the very earliest in August 1981, because he was captured a bit after Karkaroff, and Karkaroff said at the trial where Evan was named that he knew that Travers helped murder the McKinnons, and the McKinnons were murdered in July 1981 as we all know from Lily’s letter.

And so this Rosier, the real Evan Rosier, the one who died in 1981 fighting aurors, is probably the same Rosier who was one of the OG DEs that is mentioned in HBP.

Which makes sense, an older dark wizard, who was one of Tom’s first followers, would be more magically skilled than someone who just graduated a few years ago.

Not saying you can’t call Marauders Era Rosier “Evan,” I personally choose to believe that Marauders Era Rosier is the son of Evan Rosier and he’s named after his father, so we have a Jr. and Sr. situation like with the Crouches, But technically someone making Marauders Era Rosier a woman named Clara or something, who never encountered Moody in combat, is more canon compliant than making Marauders Era Rosier the DE that hexed off that hunk of Moody’s nose.

Women will literally sacrifice their whole fucking lives out of pure love just to make people happy and those people in question will prefer the other edgy white racist twink who happens to have a doomed character narrative (women have it worse) and literally has no importance in anybody's life because that edgy white male in question was racist as fuck
