Finn and Sage's Wasted Potential

Am I the only one that was peeved that Finn was killed because I did find him pretty interesting. Like, his younger siblings are all fine being evil masterminds and stuff, but not him. It doesn't mean he's better, but he does have standards. He had potential, even more so with the fact that he had a relationship with Sage of all people. The same woman who taught Damon to use people as play things and not just food. It makes you wonder.

You'd think that Damon would see Sage as some kind of teacher figure, or that Sage was his Lexi in a way. I'm not saying Damon would have loyalty to her, but be more reluctant when it comes to killing Finn because it means going against Sage.

It could also address the fact that Damon was once like Finn, in a way. I don't remember a lot because it's been years, so bear with me. If I remember correctly, it's Damon that didn't want to turn and was fine with dying, pretty much loathing his own existence, but Stefan forced him to drink blood. Damon's only reason for turning was to be with Katherine, and Katherine not only preferred Stefan, but got Damon on some kind of wild goose chase.

Fast forward to Augustine, and turning off his emotions, leading to the Damon we have today. Granted, the writers probably didn't come up with Augustine during the 3rd season, but it's a thought.

Sure, Damon has had enjoyable banter with a lot of the Mikaelsons, but Finn could've been the one that actually posed a threat to Damon. Emotionally and psychologically. Elijah is the calm and composed one, but Finn is all no nonsense and full of rage. Finn cannot be reasoned with, but does have sense. He isn't the fear mongering Klaus, the reserved Elijah, the invading and reshaping Rebekah, or the chaotic Kol, but Finn is a force of his own. No matter how obvious he seems, he's a mystery.

If they couldn't make Finn interesting on his own, then they could've given him something to work with by giving him a history with another character.

What could've made it better is that Finn isn't like the others. If anyone says something out of pocket or offensive, he doesn't act violently, nor does he threaten them. It could show just how mature he actually is. I didn't fully watch the Originals, so maybe his already existing character contradicts this.

Back to my Damon ramble, Finn could've been something new for him. Unpredictable. He doesn't operate on self-importance like his siblings (and other vampires), but self loathing. You never really know what's going to trigger him, and you don't know if he's going to be an enemy or ally. Finn could've been a catalyst to Damon questioning his own morals and stuff. He keeps giving himself to people who don't appreciate it, and it was seen right in Dangerous Liasons. Damon goes out of his way to protect and fight for people who don't see that, which sort of puts him on the Bonnie boat. What I mean is that Damon almost became like his abusers. Using people, or letting himself be used. Usually the latter. Why does Damon do this to people? Why does Damon do this for people? Why is Damon willing to die for these people? That kind of thing.

Finn doesn't let himself be used (unless it's his mother), nor does he use people. He finds no purpose in it. Damon would be going against a man that would find no enjoyment in 'teaching him a lesson'. Damon wouldn't be sure what to do against a man that barely reacts to his jabs.

Also, Finn seemed to be the only one that didn't care that Kol got his arse handed to him, just curious. The other Mikaelsons looked mildly offended at the blatant disrespect, yet Finn wasn't the least bit bothered.

It just makes me wonder what kind of person he is, and what could've been. Why he fell in love with Sage, a person that taught Damon to be disregarding of human life. I've got many questions.

I’ve been thinking about what julie plec did to Kat Graham and the treatment of the character Bonnie Bennet over the last few days and years later it still makes me sick. I was writing about it a few days ago for reasons and seeing her speak on Kat today enraged me.

The statement is a joke the “less good parts”she’s referring to are violent racism, antisemitism and discrimination. To anyone who didn’t know better this simply reads as a nice and polite statement. Here she’s admitting to repeatedly contacting Kat to reprise a role that was traumatising and rejoin a toxic work environment after Kat had repeatedly declined. Reducing her mistreatment to “less good parts” and praising how graciously she’s declined going back for further harm is vile.

Howleen Wolf's hair controversy and my thoughts:

I always figured that Howleen's redesign was some kind of character development that was being shown physically. The last time I saw her she was acting childish and her outfit was messy, in a way that made her look like she was on Nickelodeon or Disney (she was so me). It made her look like she wasn't on par with the others, which would make sense because she's a side character that pops up every now and then, but there are minor characters whose designs have been given that Monster High runway fashion, and we don't see that with Howleen.

The new design was like a sign that she was ready to embrace maturity, and wear her style in a way that didn't look like it was all over the place. Ready to step out of her sister's shadow and make a name for herself. You can see that she's still an artist, she's just ready to grow up (she gave me graffiti vibes even though I never saw her with a spray can). We can see that she's still Howleen with the fish net tights, the paw prints, and her head being covered. She also gives me 'Rihanna' vibes, and I see that with both designs. I can't explain, but if you get it then you get it.

The new hairstyle suited her, and I honestly thought it was weave/a wig. I'm not sure if this is common with African American families since I'm British, but in my family it's expected that your hair must always be well taken care of and nicely done once you're old enough to take care of it yourself. That includes wearing weave, since it's much easier instead of constantly braiding or doing something other with your natural curls. I never understood why people had a problem with the hair change, since weave is very common within the black community. Her skin was also made darker for some reason, so it's not like they completely white washed her either.

My Opinions on the Barbie film that no one cares about!

+ Ken Analysis

Warning: I'm gonna say too many things at once. If you understand then you understand.

The whole 'neurodivergent people see the world differently' is starting to actually hit me. I watched the Barbie movie to celebrate my birthday and enjoyed the experience, but what I find wild is the responses from the audience and how it clashes with my response.

I read about how some people cried when Barbie had a conversation with the old woman. How the movie is super deep, when I memorised it for how wacky it is. There are a bunch of reactions I came across on the internet that I did not understand and couldn't relate to. The debate on the matriarchy and politics, and how it goes against men, I cannot be asked.

The lesson I got from Barbie is that it was a movie to enjoy but also teach young girls that Barbie is not something to look down on but cherish. She isn't a fascist nor was she created to look like any girl, which is such a breath of fresh air. Barbie is a doll, to play with and enjoy. There's nothing realistic about her when she's literally not even a real living breathing person. I left the film with priorities, and that was to compliment as many people as I can.

The only thing I did find disturbing is the dynamic between Ken and Barbie, and it only made sense once the movie was finished. Considering I had consumed the entire film by that point.

Ken tries to get Barbie's attention and pretty much follows her around, and it's very obvious that he is interested in her but she didn't show signs of that same interest. I also recall a few times that she seemed a bit dismissive towards him, which is understandable since he snuck into her car and joined her adventure without her wanting him to.

There's that party scene, well... after the party, where Ken is kissing Barbie but they aren't actually kissing. Ken is 'kissing' Barbie but Barbie isn't 'kissing' back, which I immediately found odd, because not only does it go against the point of Ken's existence, but Barbie and Ken are the canon couple to always root for. It was strange seeing a view of them where everything is one-sided. It is solidified when Barbie straight up admits that she doesn't love Ken nearing the end of the film. I was caught off guard in a way where I felt like I wasn't supposed to be, but I suddenly realised that they aren't a couple. Ken was created to be Barbie's lover, yet his fate isn't being completed because of Barbie's disinterest. Once it's recognised that he cannot complete his fate he becomes Ken-nough. Who cares about becoming a real woman when Ken's purpose wasn't being fulfilled?

I'm not going to excuse Ken's behaviour in the film, but I interpreted that he just wanted acknowledgement. He even shows off his arm muscles for Barbie to see while they are arguing. Ken says to Barbie after the discovery of the Mojo Dojo Casa house "Now you know how it feels" or something along those lines. Ken felt recognised and respected. Before he was just Ken who wasn't good at Beach Offs but now he has some kind of name for himself.

Ken's story was a messy self discovery. I mean he grew disinterested in what he created once he realised it wasn't about horses. He's a horse man, not a beach man. Horses are not in Barbie land.

Judging by his rivalry with pompadour Ken (Simu Liu) he just wanted to prove himself as a capable Ken. He sees pompadour Ken as cool despite their dislike towards one another, which may have been a foreshadow of what's to come. Ken desired respect, Barbie's respect but wasn't aware of the growing resentment he felt towards her until views from the outside world were planted into his mind.

I found Ken's identity crisis more relatable. He can live with that void in peace, knowing it's alright for it to not be fulfilled. His mission is being himself and not an accessory. He's not just Ken if his purpose hasn't been fulfilled, he is Ken-nough.

From what most Tekken enjoyers understand is that the Devil gene was retconned. But what if there was a way to watch all endings and past revelations without getting confused? Which brings my presentation.

To be clear, I haven't refreshed my memory of what went down in the storyline but I remember the basics, so feel free to call out any incorrectness. Most of this is just a ramble and I wanted to show it to anybody who would read it, along with using a bunch of gifs for artistic reasons.

When Kazuya was a small boy his father (Heihachi) threw him off a cliff, in Tekken 7 it is because Kazuya tried to fight him after Heihachi killed Kazumi, his mother. The reason Heihachi killed her is because he found out she came from a family of devil genes (or something). 

I don't think Kazuya was raised to know what the Devil gene was, so when Devil made himself present he naturally made a deal with Kazuya out of instinct of knowing what itself was but not the family history. Kind of like a kitten having the same tendencies as its parents but was taken from the litter and mother it belonged to. I think you guys know what I mean here.

I theorise that the gene itself isn't present until something tragic and emotionally distressing activates it. At least that may be the case for those with it who go untrained not knowing that they have it, I don't know how it must've been for Kazumi. Devil Jin was activated through stress, and whilst Jin was in his teens, while Devil K grew with Kazuya.

Dude's mum just disappeared and the person that's supposed to protect him betrays him with the actual intent to harm. I think Heihachi throwing Kazuya was kind of a disciplinary thing, because Kazuya still grew up with Heihachi, while Jin was left for dead. But Kazuya was 8-10 (poor memory) when he got thrown off, so his emotional/mental tolerance was... lesser. Not to say Jin losing his mum at an older age wasn't just as traumatic, but teenagers and children are different. Jun's presence also must also have something to do with it, as Devil Jin tries to resist her good powers.

Devil Jin must've been waiting to appear for quite some time, in the back of Jin's mind watching everything. What we know of Devil Jin is that he's an absolute menace to society and a typical delinquent teenager. He's very playful in comparison to Devil Kazuya's maturity. He takes his time being a menace, knowing Jin would take control eventually. TTT2's special win poses between Devil K/Kazuya and Devil J make Devil K/Kazuya look a disapproving father. From DJ firing his laser out of control and flying away, with DK either crossing his arms or showing no reaction.

In Tekken 4 the Devil in Kazuya says that he lost a part of himself and wants to take it back. In a way, when you put in the whole genetic thing he's kind of not wrong. Devil K is acknowledging that he has a son but not to the full grasp that he should. We all know how DNA works, reproduction, ect.

Devil K however believes that 'part of himself' should be taken back, not getting that the gene is in Jin's blood. While I do believe Jun was protecting Jin, I don't think that's why his body rejected the gene getting taken away. Now, as seen with Kazuya's TTT2 ending he can absorb the evil off others for his own gain which is what he did to Unknown. Thing is, Unknown is more of a possession rather than an 'in the blood' situation. Sure TTT2 isn't canon, but it has shown 'what if' scenarios. Not only that, but we see Zafrina use Azazel's ball thing for her own use.

So the Devil gene is still a thing, and it started out as just that, a gene. They can take power away from other forms of evil, but not their own family members. That may have been why Kazumi wanted Kazuya killed, because Devil couldn't be taken away from him, and she's no Jun Kazama or Angel so it's not like she could take it away from him. Not to defend her or anything, just saying.

Writing Chubby Reader

Dear writers,

When writing a chubby reader why does she have to be insecure? Do you all look at a plus size/chubby person and assume they don't like their body? The reader is looking for something they can relate to, and being chubby doesn't mean insecurity. People who are considered skinny also have insecurities, amongst a bunch of average people.

It's one of the reasons why readers have specific requests. For example, whenever I'm reading a normal reader post I get the impression that I reading it in a white person's perspective, which is why I occasionally request black reader, that doesn't mean I'm insecure about my blackness, I just want something I can relate to. So why is it when I read chubby and plus size reader she is an insecure mess? I'm not chubby but I like reading chubby reader because I expect the beauty standards to be challenged, and I'm a sucker for body positivity, only for the enjoyment to be ruined once I get to the insecure part.

There are a ton of plus size women who are not insecure about their body and yet this fact seems to fly over the writer's head.

I was bullied, yet I'm able to acknowledge that I deserve better, that I am normal. I get that times have changed for some and circumstances concerning support is different for everyone, but this crap is getting really old.

Edit: There's more I'd like to add and clarify. I understand that this post has already gotten a lot of attention but I'd like to make more notes. I find it bothersome that a chubby reader always has to be a victim of bullying, people have been bullied for other things. Such as being too skinny, their ethnic background, disabilities and so much more. It's as if writers lack creativity when writing chubby/plus size reader. It's actually quite sad that they see chubby people in this fashion and the fact that they've reduced a reader's request to this level. Unless someone requested their insecurity it's not necessary.

It's fine. I should be the one apologising since I shouldn't have gotten so heated. I felt the need to defend my ship. I interpreted the post as you bashing the ship.

I don't think Ayano 'deserves' better, she can choke. I think the shippers believing that are either people who deep down believe they can change a bad person, like most delusional people, or young teens who don't fully understand/can't comprehend the severity of the situation. I think the fact that it's fiction also has something to do with it.

There's something psychological about it that I am not qualified to get into, but I can only theorise.

Whenever I see people saying "Ayano should dump Taro's ass and go with Budo, he's SO MUCH BETTER than him!", I ask: ...why are you so desperate to see Budo go through what Jokichi was subjected to? Do you secretly hate him or are you just masochists? Ayano is not a good match for ANYONE.

Yes you have a good point! Ayano isn't a good match for anyone and it doesn't make sense to suggest that she should be with Taro or that she should dump Taro and go for someone "better" because whoever she ends up with is doomed to live in captivity among other unpleasant things. So why would people say this?

1. They don't know the game's concept very well, especially evidenced by the fact that they think Ayano is in control of whoever it is that she's obsessed with. She isn't. Stands to reason that if they don't know that, they ALSO don't know that being Ayano's lover is definitely not a good thing.

2. They forgot to mention that they're talking about their AU/rewrite in which Ayano isn't a bad person. Like it's very clear that some people like to pretend that Yandere Simulator's problematic characters aren't problematic. What if the bullies weren't bullies? What if the delinquents weren't delinquents? What if Ayano is just a slightly more cunning than average schoolgirl experiencing her first crush? That makes the game more enjoyable to them so that's the lens through which they perceive it, and when they talk about it, that's what they mean.

3. They know exactly what they're talking about and they're curious about how Budo might respond to being put into such a situation. Wanting to see bad things happen to a character doesn't necessarily mean hating them. There are characters in Danganronpa that I think should die, but I don't hate them as much as I hate Vlad from Magicka. FUCK that conniving little "nyeh nyeh I'm not a vampire!" bastard. Point being, they may not hate Budo, but they might think that it would be more interesting to see Budo in that position than Taro.

So which is it? Honestly... I hope the first one, because it's the best compromise between non-offensive and actually realistic. I don't think it's the third solely because the focus is on what kind of guy Ayano deserves to be with, not on who would make a better Magic Senpai. The second one is just... guys, you know Yandere Simulator is gonna be an M Rated game, right? Bad people do bad things. Ayano isn't a good person, even if you play pacifist, because her aim is to take away another person's agency over their life. I've talked about this before with Info-chan but it applies to e v e r y problematic aspect of the game. But I can't really blame anyone who says that Ayano deserves Budo over Taro just out of ignorance. Realistically it's probably a mix of the first and second options tho.

I love 2013 Carrie

I have a few thoughts on the 2013 Carrie. I understand the dislike for 2013 Carrie, but I don't at the same time. To be fair, I was at least 8 years old when I saw the film and I had no clue that it was a book first and had 2 movies before it, but I loved the hell out of that film.

I remember the rage and relatability I felt with her character. Granted, it wasn't until secondary school that I was harshly bullied, but I still went through isolation and being berated for things that no one should've cared that much about (P.E, ect.).

Now to the films: In the 1976 and 2002 version, the prom massacre is presented in a way where Carrie loses her mind, the '76 (Spacek) seemingly hallucinating. 2013 everyone is actually laughing at her and Carrie consciously offs them. I'm not saying they deserved it but rent was due. As Shang Tsung would say, how deliciously cold blooded.

I remember finding out that people hated the 2013 version and being confused until I found out why. She wasn't accurate. Chloe Grace Moretz is very pretty, and she was a very pretty teenager (sorry if that sounds creepy). With the new found knowledge that I acquired it was hard to accept her as Carrie even though my 8 year old self had already accepted her.

According to Carrie | Anatomy of a Franchise (a youtube video), from what I remember Moretz wanted the role because of her sexuality, and that sense of being 'othered' from the people around her. Although I am not queer, I can understand this feeling of otherness. I showed that a person didn't have to be what society views as ugly to see themselves in Carrie, there could be anything about you and Carrie as a character could spark a mirror.

Looking back at the previous movies I can see why Moretz's version is not appealing to many people. Appearance aside, there was another thing wrong that I didn't realise until James A. Janisse pointed it out on his kill count. A normal girl acting like an outcast. Moretz didn't have Spacek's timidness or Bettis' shaking behaviour, nor did they attempt to make her look strange (dark circles under eyes, ect.). But the more I thought about it the more I came to my own conclusion.

At this point anyone can be Carrie, even though that's very far fetched. Hell, I would play Carrie if I was given the chance. I haven't read the book, yet, but I know Carrie's features. Some of them at least. She is plus sized/chubby, has pimples and bad skin. Sounds like me, except I lost some weight (according to my mum), and I wasn't really chubby. But my skin did occasionally go bad (my lips going monstrously dry and scabby during winter) and I have dandruff. My dandruff would build up and a bunch of tiny pieces would fall whenever I scratched my head, and get stuck under my fingernails. I would rarely cut my nails unless they chipped off by themselves somehow. I had bags under my eyes from lack of sleep. I still have pimples on my forehead.

I'm also a 19 year old (currently) who's been told that they look like 15 and have been confused for a 15 year old. I'm certain I could play teenager Carrie.

I know that's too much information and that it means that there was something wrong with me, in the sense that I wasn't taking good care of myself and may have been dealing with something mentally.

Why does this matter? Both Spacek and Bettis were past their early 20's unlike Moretz who was 15. Spacek and Bettis' appearance was nothing like the book's description of Carrie. Both are very skinny, with Bettis especially having sunken cheeks. But with this in mind it could imply that their movie versions were not very well fed, thus either highlighting the abuse from the hands of Margaret White or their low class background.

Ugly or not, odd or not, a person is still going to be targeted and othered. Spacek's Carrie is very beautiful, but she felt like a ghost in the mystical sense. Just there and seemingly existing, but being unfortunately disturbed by the ever so rude living humans. If you look at Spacek as an actress it would be hard to believe that she is Carrie.

The result of writing this: Something can be done and seen with any Carrie, no matter who she is.

I love 2013's Carrie. Another thing I really admire is the scene where Tommy asks Carrie out to the prom. It could be that cold tone that every 2010s horror movie had at the time, but it truly captured how unsafe and suspicious Carrie felt and how suspicious Tommy seemed. Tommy sort of had good intent, but he was being creepy with how persistent he was being. Something that isn't realised in the '76 film, considering consent wasn't much of a thing back then (major yikes). It was nothing sexual, but no means no and he kept dismissing that. Dude showed up to Carrie's house and everything. Also, he cheated on Sue with Carrie. Why aren't people irked?

Yes, that is what I was going for but I'm unfortunately too soft and I rushed everything, eager to share it on this website. I mean she's an alien for crying out loud, it's alright to make them naive but I want a gruesome sense of curiosity. I wanted her to not make sense, and at times be contradictory. I took some notes from Neferpitou's character when writing the reader.

Getting back on track, when she killed Stormfront she took the chance to let her urges get the best of her. The need to put anything that moves in your mouth and see if it's edible like a matchstick.

Reader herself is not a human but a creature so I wanted to treat her like one. She's unearthly, an unending mystery that has a whole bunch of stories the more you cut her open. She can live up to 1000s if not 100s of years, we do not know how long she's been a baby among those years. A lot of people don't realise she is a child yet get surprised when she does many mature things as if a part of them knows. She's so young yet so old.

She has the desire to make as many people happy as she can but will welcome any disadvantages. She doesn't mean any harm, but will switch between holding back and using her natural instincts if she finds it fitting for the situation. She needs to be overpowered but in a way where only another unearthly thing can counter it. She's willing to turn into a monster for the people she loves and will grow to care about (Starlight, Kimiko, ect.).

I'm into the whole sweet, innocent reader having a terrifying side. And by terrifying, I mean Adult Gon levels of terrifying, especially if the reader is a monster or mythical being of some kind.

It's something I rarely come across and I wrote that simply for the sake of feeding my own desire.
