You know, a conventional relationship goes like this:

1. First Date

2. First Kiss

3. Sleep together

4. Say you love eachother

5. Move in together

6. Get married

Remus and Sirius were never conventional.

They had their first kiss at fifteen, over a drunken game of spin the bottle.

They said they loved eachother every day since third year.

Sirius had a tendency to propose on a whim (“Thankyou for doing my homework remus, will you marry me?”, “Remus, I’m bored, marry me”).

They moved in together right out of hogwarts, even though they both knew what a terrible idea it was to live with your best friend that you’re secretly in love with.

Eventually, they said they loved eachother for real, kissed, and fucked.

Sirius proposed for real two months later.

They got married, and then realised they’d never been on an official date because they always just hung out, because it felt natural that way.

They went on their first date 15 years after meeting.

It wasn’t a conventional relationship, but it was theirs.

Listen, this is gonna get sappy but I don’t care.

I am so grateful to be a young person right now. I will never take it for granted that growing up, I am being raised at a point where loving who you want and being who you are is being normalized.

I will never take it for granted that on TV, I could watch two men kiss and not bat an eyelash. I will never take it for granted that I could see a cast with so many POC and it not even register with me that it was that diverse until someone pointed it out. It was just kind of, normal. (And so well done on the part of the makers of the show.) There are so. many. people. before me that did not get that kind of representation. Even people just a little bit older than myself were so excited after Stede and Ed kissed, because they finally hadn’t been let down or queer baited.

I will never take for granted the beautiful and rich representation that I and many others got from a show like Our Flag Means Death, (and the future shows that do it as well that will one day be made)

one of my classmates called me pretty, and that made me really happy. :)

Fearless Liabilities by @femme--de--lettres: a wolfstar summer camp AU. I admittedly have not yet finished this one, but I have read enough to comfortably rec it. andies writing never fails to make me laugh-- like audibly out loud. multiple times. i don't know anyone who is better at illustrating absolute shenanigans as well as andie can and this story is SO FREAKIN' CUTE. it has romance. it has camp. it has complicated families and friendships and. yah.

Only Fools are Satisfied by grumposaur (aka tumblr user @pancakehouse). AGAIN. I admittedly haven't finished this yet, but i'm going to rec it because sports AU girlies rise up and-- YES. this is a wolfstar tennis AU. Do i know anything about tennis? No. Am I hooked? yes. I am in love with sirius as we all should be, and it is so fun. (also, i can't explain it, but tumblr user pancakehouse, there is something...so like...nonchalant and casual about the way you write? effortless, every sentence and i'm enjoying every bit of it).

Just what the doctor ordered by wrappedup: i feel like everyone and their dog recs this one (pun intended) but rightfully so. beware tall remus, but the banter and pacing in this is so good.

Hard to Find by accioromulus. this one is short, easy breezy read. the dialogue is so fun and quick and its just...simple and cute. Muggle Roadtrip AU.
