“But Tav/Durge, what’s worse - kidnapping Astarion or destroying the muppets?”
Had so much fun puppet-ifying everyone else in the origins crew. And if there ever were a muppet-ified BG3 movie, Astarion would make a fantastic non muppet. He’d probably have a stroke or something.
writing is so fun
Chapter 8!
I like to call this one "why you should actually eat your dinner and get some rest, Turmeric". Alas, it seems she'll never learn.
And we’re off! Next story is up on AO3, and updates should come at least once every ten days as with previous (I just realised I’m working off a tenday-based schedule, this was not intentional), and I will try to post here in case of a delay.
Chapter 15!!!!
Bit of an odd time in the day for posting, but I'm going to be busy later and I didn't want it to be delayed so SURPRISE!
You may have noticed the chapter count has gone up to 17 – I'm aware I said it would be 16 earlier but some things got shifted around, so. It may still go up to 18 depending on how long the final chapter gets, we shall see.

absolutely criminal how falling into bad habits is the easiest thing in the world while developing positive habits feels like fighting a literal war
I forgot to mention here I posted another chapter of these shorter (by my standards) ones last night, this time focusing on Lae’zel’s post icepick lobotomy moment that I mentioned in chapter 9 of Whistle Past the Graveyard because I thought that would be fun, so I’m mentioning that now! Go read it if you want!
as an optimist i dream of a beautiful world where people are fucking normal about aromanticism
I made Klearrhishkminal in the game for fun a while ago, so I thought I ought to share her so you could all see why Turmeric was (and still is) so enamored with her. I mean, look at her, she's gorgeous!
She's a pretty important character for someone who's literally been dead the whole time- or at least, I like to think so, I hope that impression comes across. She is the entire reason for Turmeric, well, being called Turmeric for starters.
As a reminder, she is bronze and definitely not brass - if you think you've ever seen me describe her (or Ansur!) as that because they're similar words and I forgot to check and got confused, no you didn't, that never happened. Because then Turmeric's whole character quirk of having a fondness for lightning spells because her last girlfriend had lightning breath wouldn't make sense and nobody would pick up on it! (I do hope some people have picked up on that, it's a subtle little thing, but it's there. (because we carry those we love with us, long after they're gone, after all))
astarion's comments about hating horses and how horses hate him checks because horses are great at vibe checks, and the dude has absolutely rancid vibes. i do know who horses would absolutely love, though, the blade of frontiers himself. wyll was a horse girl change my mind. that man loves him a horse and can ride bareback no issue on the most ill-tempered mare. he's a horse whisperer.
I know we are all like "people in caveman times would drill holes in their head to relieve headaches" andwe go oh that's so stupid that's so dumb but like. then I get a headache and I'm like.ooooh I get it I get it. Grug prepare the drill.
I write BG3 fanfic about having a bad time and learning to carry on anyway! It's good fun! And also devastating!
