The Ultimate Pick Yourself Up Guide 💗✨
Hey loves, I'm back with another long post and today I'm writing about picking yourself up! It's something close to my heart as I have a condition I have struggled with for years that makes it hard to concentrate.
I hope this post is like cool water to your mind and will turn your focus to yourself and how you feel.
Ok ..
Ask yourself
Does my body hurt?
Am I mentally exhausted?
Does my heart feel heavy?
Is my head spinning?
If you relate or say 'yes' to any of these, I want you to take a breath and validate your feelings. Especially on this side of Tumblr were we are constantly acquiring new skills and becoming our best selves, you need to be very careful with your health.
Like I said validate your aches and discomforts, if you are feeling stressed and heavy make sure you feel the extent of your discomfort, let it weigh on you for a second so you personally realise how much you need to take a mental getaway.
At this point cry a bit if you want, nothings wrong with crying, you don't need to be sad to cry, it's just a form of release and surrender.
Step 1 : Take a hot bath 🌫️
Take a bath to loosen your muscles and calm yourself a bit. Become in tune with the temperature of the water and how it feels on your skin. Come back to yourself and sit and enjoy the water. You can burn some essential oil or essence sticks for energy as well as aromatherapy. The point is to get out of your head and get in tune with your senses. This is one of the methods used for calming anxiety, it brings you back to the present and away from all responsibility for a while. Massage your body after you get out with oils, it soothes your muscles a bit.
Here's a video that can be a basic guideline
Step 2 : Moving your body🤸🏽♀️
During this time where you feel out of it, your back may ache or you may genuinely feel disconnected from your body. I recommend yoga during this time as it's perfect for finding a centre in yourself as well as opening up your body. You don't wanna rush into something crazy like HIIT. Ease your body. The point of this is to romance your body, bring that love of yourself back into you. A little movement will also get some serotonin running in your system.
I'll recommend some yin yoga practices as those focus more on the lower body and hips which tend to be where stress and tension tends to collect for women.
My favourite yoga workouts come from Boho Beautiful, here are some of my favourite
Deep Yin Yoga Stretch for Releasing All That No Longer Serves You
Yin Yoga For The Upper Body and Stress
Yin Yoga For Flexibility, Sore Hips and Hamstrings
Yoga For PMS, Body Aches and Gentle Realignment
Step 3 : Meditation 🧘
Meditation is amazing, you just need to have a certain amount of self discipline and surrender to the practice.
Try out Hypnosis too, as weird as it sounds it works on certain people, me being one of them 😂
This part is really important as it caters to your hard working brain and muscles.
Michael Sealey is my favourite in terms of guided meditation and hypnosis
This is also a good one!
Even listen to ASMR if you like it.
Step 4 : Make food for yourself 🍳🍲🥗
You don't need to be a chef for this, all you need to do is prepare a home-made meal for yourself. It'll make you happier and make you aware of what you eat as a lot of tiredness and so many other issues are caused by certain foods you might be allergic to or have a low tolerance for.
I also suggest going vegetarian or vegan a few days of the week as meat weighs you down and makes you a bit slow as it takes long to process in the stomach.
Taking control of your diet is a huge part of taking control of your life as you are aware of what you put into yourself. I'm a full believer of the phrase "you are what you eat".
Step 5 : Talk to someone 👯
Especially at this time, some of you could be lonely and that's the reason for your discomfort, it's nothing to be ashamed of. Humans are social by a nature. Call an old friend, your parents or if you don't have anyone go on Omegle. Just talk to someone.
Step 6 : Learn or read something 📚
Some of you could be boardering brain dead territory. You need to exercise your brain, it's an organ that needs to be stimulated.
Read, download Duolingo, go people watching. Anything is better than looking at a screen all day. You might need to go on a deprogramming mission where you focus on what's real and around you. I've seen it in so many people who are so infatuated with their devices and the internet that they don't know the difference between what's real and what's not. Don't let that be you. I'm sure all of you are too pretty and smart to be having Alzheimer's in your 50s.
Step 7 : Clean your space !!! 🌊
This step is essential, look around your house and room. Empty the bins. Wipe everything down. Look under your bed. Check your pipe systems. Get rid of any dust, grime, mold, everything. I'm a strong germaphobe and I'm really particular about the cleanliness of my atmosphere because your atmosphere is the air you breathe and the air you breathe powers your whole existence. Now if you're sitting in a room with a moldy corner, dust mites and some 9 month old dirt living rent free, no wonder you're sad and lethargic. You're getting poisoned by your air daily!?

Step 8 : Sleep😴
You need to recharge every night. Make sure you get atleast 7 hours of sleep. You can't expect to function at 100% with a 60% full battery.
Recommendation 🍑
Delete all unnecessary social media, it'll reduce a lot of stress <3
That's all I have for now
