I just feel like since they went all topsy-turvy with the plot lines they could've at least kept David alive maybe
The original draft of the Kenobi show heavily featured Cody and they were described as “bickering like an old married couple”
I have been cobbling this painting together in private for about a month (turns out Kensington Palace is rather complicated to draw), before giving the finished poster to Casey McQuiston last night as a pub-day gift for RED WHITE & ROYAL BLUE COLLECTOR’S EDITION—a “two homes side-by-side” mashup of canon and cinema featuring Nicholas Galitzine as Henry and Taylor Zakhar Perez as Alex. (Suffice to say, I can’t wait to see them inhabit these roles when the film launches next year!)
To those who came to The Strand last night for the event, thank you so much for your incredibly warm reception. Meeting Casey in person was an absolute dream come true and words fail to express my joy at having brought my skills to the endpapers of a book I adore so much. Apart from being hilarious, brilliant, and genuinely kind, they also happen to give AMAZING hugs:
I hope you’ve had a chance to pick up your copy of the book and that you love Henry’s POV chapter as much as I did (hello waterworks!). Let me know what you think of it in the comments, and just know how endlessly grateful I am to all of you who found my art and liked it enough to share, comment, and shower it with hearts. I’m forever in your debt. 💙❤️💙❤️

Okay so it wasn't horrible but I'm really kind of annoyed on how they portrayed their characters and the story lines. Also this is just my opinion I don't mean hate to any of the cast members or anything like that
First of all Mal would NEVER leave Alina like idk why but that felt really out of character for him
Also in the books, Nikolai LOVED being Sturmhond. That was his escape from everything and a way he could do what he wanted to do without having to be worried about his royal status. Again I feel like him giving up Sturmhond to Mal is just a bit weird like the whole of KoS and RoW plot lines would not be the same and if a 3rd season does happen, then they are clearly going to try and include those plot lines because of what happened with the nichevo'ya
ZOYA GOT ROBBED OF HER SCREENTIME! Zoyalai is literally endgame and I don't get how they are going to do this when they barely said a word to each other this whole season
I'M REALLY ANNOYED ABOUT WHAT THEY DID TO WESPER! Like yes I loved seeing them interact and it was honestly so cute but I feel like their relationship got severely rushed and after Jesper got over his crisis about him being durast, everything was fixed after one scene which just didnt feel right to me. Also they missed a massive amount of their story from the books by speeding up their relationship like they included plots from CK when SOC is just about to happen at the end of the season so the whole thing with Kuwei is not gonna work as well
WHY DID DAVID DIE SO EARLY?! His death was completely brushed over by the other characters and they completely jumped over key points in Genya and David's relationship and considering how David and Nikolai interact in KoS duology we got to see none of that in the show
I feel like the Kanej plot line was also really rushed as well like the hallucination didn't really make sense to me but that might just be me
I also really wished we got more Helnik in it like they did it well but its a shame it wasn't included more
I get that the show is different from the books and I'm find with that but I think they carried out some of the plot lines really badly and it would have been better if it wasn't all so rushed
when they’re all finally together, i might cry
But when we see them all in one scene together in the show then what
You can just tell Cody spent too long with Obi-Wan not to try and work out the situation peacefully and it hurts
Bad Batch episode three Cody rant-
yes, Cody DID learn a lot from Obi-Wan, such as how to negotiate properly, but i think it’s also important to recognize that that’s just who Cody is and who he always has been.
Cody has ALWAYS been undeniably kind and has ALWAYS had a good sense of right and wrong. this is why he’s universally loved by every single clone we see- the Batch who hated regs loved him from the start, including Crosshair. every battalion we saw him interact with has always had a DEEP respect for him because he is, fundamentally, a GOOD person. he’s one of the best people we see in all of Star Wars.
that’s not something he learned from Obi-Wan. thats just who he is. and i think that’s something Obi-Wan really loved about him.
Cody is to the bone a kind and caring person. he is extremely loyal to those he loves and there is nothing that matters more to him than those he considers his family- that’s why he was calling his troops by their name, even when no one else was. that’s why he was genuinely distraught when Nova died, and had to be bodily pulled away from him even thought his own life was at risk. that’s why he was kind to Crosshair even though no one else was willing to even sit with him.
Cody is his own person, just as Obi-Wan is his own person, and while they absolutely have a lot of similar traits, those aren’t things they gained from each other.
Cody didn’t suddenly start being kind because Obi-Wan taught him that- we know he’s been like that since he was taking Rex under his wing on Kamino, and did the same with every other troop he encountered. he’s just an intrinsically caring and deeply kind brother. he didn’t decide to start vying for peace because he thinks Obi-Wan is dead. Cody’s ALWAYS been a fair person tries to hear everyone out. that is just who he inherently is, just as that’s who Obi-Wan inherently is, and that is the reason they love each other so much.
i think the reason this episode was so good at showing just how good of a person Cody is comes from the fact that he is alone. he is entirely in command. there is no Obi-Wan there, there’s no one he has to listen to, he is the sole commander here. and yet, even at the pressure of his superior officer, he doesn’t loose his morals at all, and consistently shows how kind and sweet he is. he isn’t doing that because of Obi-Wan, he’s doing that because it’s who he is, even with the inhibitor chip.
of COURSE he would question the Empire and leave as soon as the chip started wearing off, and of COURSE he’d carry the guilt of Order 66 squarely on his shoulders. he is a great example of someone who knows right from wrong and people who ever questioned him don’t understand his character at ALL.
I have said that i’ve accepted cody’s probable death in season two of The Bad Batch, but please know that I am, in fact, a fucking liar.
yep! them’s the rules.
if you don’t like hayden you can make like a zillo beast and bury yourself in the ground for a thousand years.
