every time Dean says hi hey hiya Sammy after Sam has not heard his brother's voice or the word Sammy for a long time, my heart cracks just a little bit. like after Dean goes to Hell - seeing and hearing his big brother alive, saying Sammy - what a gutshot. emotional little brother puppy dog eyes initiated goddammit.
but yeah, fast forward hundreds of years or whatever, to the finale and a Sam that lived far too long without his brother because he promised he'd carry on, he'd live that long life Dean so wanted for him. He wouldn't give up, he'd always keep fighting. Then, upon his final breath he wakes up on a bridge in heaven and sees his big brother standing there, hears that voice he wouldn't ever forget but had faded just a little over the decades, god imagine what that must've felt like. "Hey Sammy" Dean says with a smile as if a lifetime hasn't separated them. For Sam, it was like a prayer, the purest kind that doesn't exist any more. "Hey Sammy". And Sam is there again, little brother to Dean. Where he is meant to be. Complete.
Let's see. Jensen worked for a vast majority of his acting life on this character and it is probably the one he will be known for, unless he goes on to make one even more iconic.
Guess what supernatural is often called, especially by some people who are tapped a bit into online spaces? The gay angel thing. Hellers have been so loud about destiel that people are misled about the content of the show and the importance of a side character. Why would Jensen, as an actor who anyway cannot escape from all this destiel noise, want to let it becomes worse so that the show and his character is entirely overrun?
He has stated that he doesn't have an issue with fan fiction so long as it remains there. The OP sounds bitter about him bringing up wincest and so on, as if both items are not equally fanon. One scene out of the blue suddenly changed things (I doubt it did for most of the GA - my take was Angelic love, not gay), and now he is blamed for things he said way way ("not played it that way") before that scene. And even hellers agree that he didn't play "that scene" that way! They are still salty at the lack of acknowledgement. Which is extra ironic given that the core of that scene was that happiness was in the knowing and not needing the having. So essentially the hellers are being whiny incels here. There I said it.
i have been a supernatural fan for over ten years and i have known for a while that jensen has never been a fan of destiel, which would be completely fine if he didn't always react uncomfortable and downright disgusted every time someone mentions it and / or the possibility of dean being queer. i have seen him become very defensive and even hostile when asked questions about these things at conventions. to this day jensen (& jared) STILL vehemently call castiel's confession "platonic" and "brotherly" while the writers, showrunners and misha explicitly called it a romantic confession of love.
my problem with jensen's behaviour is that it seems to be rooted in very toxic masculinity and the fragility of it. he has called emotional writing "unmanly" and "effeminate" and "something dean would never say to another man"; he was glad that dean didn't share many scenes with castiel in season 9; he desperately wanted destiel "to go away" and something else that really irks me: so many times when destiel was talked about, he brought up wincest, as if that is in any way the same. he seems to associate queerness with unmanliness, weakness and something to be uncomfortable about.
i can understand that destiel extremists have insulted his wife, insinuated ridiculous things happened between actors etc but this is no excuse for his downright homophobic comments and behaviour. he can also imagine dean however he wants and i know he thinks he understands dean better than anyone but it's so sad to me how much he seems to limit dean in who he could be TO OTHER PEOPLE. who does it harm if a bunch of bi people see themselves in him and his behaviour? i thought jensen understood just how much dean hid from everyone. it makes me sad that he seems to want to forbid other people from interpreting dean differently than he does.
he should really take some time to reflect if dean winchester's non-canon sexuality is really worth coming across homophobic for.
The way they look at each other đ

2 questions for you:
1. What is all the drama going on Twitter about entitled fans? Can you explain, I am so lost! What have the âfansâ done to other fans? I saw some other stuff about inappropriate photo op requests? What is going on?
2. What is destiel con?
Also just wanted to say Iâm happy you had a fun weekend at the con! Thanks for updating on Twitter. It was much appreciated
So there's a group of 4 Jai, Val, Rose, and Robin, which I'll call the Mean Girls because they act like the characters from the movie. They were part of this group called SHAC, which stands for Spotted Hound Art Club. It's Valâs discord server/club that you gain access to through her patreon.
There's a bunch of tweets on the issue here: link, link, link, link, link, link, link, link, link, link.
But basically, the Mean Girls had group chats and discords where they would abuse and bully various people in the fandom. They would go after people who weren't in their clique, but if you got on the bad side of the clique, then you would be bullied relentlessly. Lots of people are sharing stories of being harassed, doxxed, accused of various isms, etc.
One of the rules for being part of their club was that you had to hate Jared or pretend to hate Jared. They drove a lot of the hate towards Jared. They asked people to fake death threats from Jared fans so that they could frame Jared fans for bad behavior.
The Mean Girls were responsible for Misha having to come out as straight. They've caused a lot of toxicity in this fandom.
Apparently they have such a high opinion of themselves, but they make people pay to have one-on-one conversations???
It sounds like they were basically the Destiel Shadow Council 2.0. Kind of crazy that there's been two versions of that group in the fandom in less than 5 years, but I guess there's a really toxic undercurrent in the Destiel fandom.
Apparently they would love bomb and go after young, impressionable fans.
People who used to suck up to Jaistiel are now saying that there were inappropriate photo op requests.
Destiel Con aka A More Profound Con was a free, online convention that was started by fans, for fans, and was destroyed when Val & the Mean Girls threw a shit fit and claimed ableism, which Val apparently loves to do in order to play the victim and get special treatment. It turned into a community event full of love into fighting and mud slinging.
BTW, I saw Jaistiel at the con and they looked very sad and lonely. They were almost always by themselves and on their phone off to the side. Even during karaoke. They are sad, lonely people who have to bully others to have any sense of power.
I hope people eventually realize that ableism isnât just being mean to a disabled person just because theyâre disabled.
Itâs the American government not allowing us to have over $2,000 at any given time without threatening to take away our only source of income. Itâs still not having equal marriage opportunities, I cannot get married to my fiancĂ©e without my money being taken away. I bring in $750 a month from SSI. Thatâs not even enough for rent. (In case you didnât know, $2,000 isnât enough to live off of for a month, so to not be able to have it explains enough.)
Ableism is also taking away disabled parking and adding spaces reserved for cops. [That part is specifically aimed at Walmart.] Cops are abled, thatâs how they can do their âjobâ. Theyâre even allowed to park at the very front of a building, they donât need their own spaces.
Ableism is claiming a building is accessible when the âaccessibilityâ features are broken or out of date, which can endanger mobility aid users.
Ableism is choosing to attack someone who doesnât âlookâ disabled and shame them just because their disability/chronic illness is invisible; it is leaving notes on the cars that belong to disabled people who can walk, yet still need to park in the disabled parking space, that state that theyâre âfakingâ, âgoing to hellâ, or that they should be ashamed of themselves for âtaking a spot from someone who actually needs itâ. This includes the phrase, âBut you donât look disabled.â
Ableism is stopping autistic children from stimming, forcing kids with ADHD to sit still, infantilizing adults with down syndrome or other conditions because ableds assume that they donât know what is going on around them.
Ableism is doctors not listening to their patients, the person who knows their body the best, due to medical racism, fatphobia, or misogyny.
Ableism is assuming every disabled personâs condition is the same, and that all treatments are a one size fits all; in reality, our treatment programs, the accommodations we need, which arenât âspecial needsâ, are all different and work with a case by case foundation.
Ableism is so much more than what the surface shows it to be. Itâs not just treating people unfairly, itâs deliberately ignoring our basic needs for your comfort.
