Okay so musky bought Twitter, so we can probably expect some new tumblr people to crop up. I’d just like to say some words.

Please use the app as it is supposed to be used. Know that the algorithm here does not exist like other sites. This means that you create or follow the content you want to see, you share the content you want others to see. No one will be stalking your likes even if you have them public. Reblogs are the way to go. If you feel awkward reblogging, get used to it or go somewhere else. Reblogs are ALWAYS appreciated unless otherwise explicitly stated.

Also. You may not be used to this, but tumblr blogs are so fun and super customizable. You are highly encouraged to do this, because most tumblr users will block blank blogs / not-customized blogs on sight. Have fun getting to know the freedom of having a whole website to customize for yourself! Or 100! Side blogs are fun for that too!

Or you can just leave the theme as is and just have a different pfp / header just like anywhere else. No one will judge you.

TLDR; reblog posts you like, customize your blog, interact with the communities you’re entering. Otherwise, you may find that you’ll be blocked seemingly at random.

Some advice from me about school

If you're going to take an AP test (or the equivalent), make sure you understand the subject enough to at least get a 3. These tests are expensive as fuck.

English teachers write the best recommendation letters. Make sure to get your application ready ASAP.

Make sure you at least finish your work. A 50 is better than a 0. People can still get in college with a 2.0. And remember that college isn't for everyone.

Common App. Sign up for it. It'll save you so much time, I swear.

Try studying by teaching the subject to someone else, even a teddy bear or mirror.

anxiety is so weird like why is my mental illness in my stomach

As someone who changed his name just for fun when I thought I was still cis, i promise most people are ok with accepting a new name, even if you lie and say it’s a nickname. I promise. It’s really easy to just casually go “hey I wanna go by Bob now, it’s an old nickname I wanna bring back” like. Just start introducing yourself to new ppl, no one knows better. and if someone accidentally deadnames you just go haha no I go by my nickname now.

It sucks that ppl treat nicknames as more sacred than trans ppls choice names but still.

this 4th of july: if you're autistic, have PTSD, or anything else that is going to make loud sounds hell for you, please remember to have ear plugs/headphones, something to distract you like a book or music, and if possible, a quiet place you can go to relax. stay safe and prioritize your mental health! <3
