this year my challenge for everyone is to unlearn the association between love and morality. love is not something that is inherently morally good, and the absence of love is not something that is inherently bad. sex without love isn't morally bankrupt, it's just an action. people without love aren't less kind or less good, they're just people. when we can get past this false (and often unnoticed) dichotomy of good love/evil lovelessness then i think we are going to be able to take leaps and bounds in sex positivity, aro advocacy, certain discussions of mental health...
Not to be a leftist but I interpret this less as a "liberals are trying to take away our Christian right to be racist" and more that those who follow the teachings of Christ and try to dismantle and disrupt the systems of oppression that we live with will be persecuted by those who benefit from those systems of oppression and want to maintain them
sometimes sanctification is taking little baby steps while God holds your hand and nudges you in the right direction. and sometimes you can only stand by and watch while the Holy Spirit takes a 10000 psi pressure washer and absolutely blasts your insides
Transition is a reflection of the glory of God, not an act of defiance against Him.
I would not be able to be what God intended me to be if I had not been given the body I was given. God created this body to be transformed. God made me to be wide-hipped and deep-voiced, to have breasts that hope to become scars. I was always meant to have exactly this experience, to be exactly this.
God did not create a different cis body from the one I think I should have, leaving me to disrespect His creation by trying to escape it.
God created a trans body.
A body that was made to change. A body that was created to participate in its own creation. A body that was fearfully and wonderfully made to sing His praises and bring glory to the boundless variety of His thoughts.
My transness forms the stones that pave my path to God. I was given this cross to carry in the footsteps of our Lord. And as self-denial gave way to truth, I was given the most precious gift - that of death and resurrection.
In this day and age, we can't be holding just prayer vigils as many churches do. It's good to pray in fellowship, but if you don't go out and help people in the Lord's name, then what was the use? God didn't ask us to pray only, and it is our duty to go out and help people, even and especially if those people aren't part of the body of believers and might never be.
pretty much all ive learned from my post blowing up is that people have a very narrow idea of why sexual abuse happens in the first place

“Some of them say that we’re sick, we’re crazy. And some of them think that we are the most gorgeous, special things on Earth.”

“i always had hopes of being a big star. but as you get older, you aim a little lower. everybody wants to make an impression, some mark upon the world. then you think, you've made a mark on the world if you just get through it, and a few people remember your name. then you've left a mark. you don't have to bend the whole world. i think it's better to just enjoy it.” - dorian corey, paris is burning (1990)
PARIS IS BURNING (1990) dir. Jennie Livingston A vibrant snapshot of the 1980s through the eyes of New York City’s ball scene. Made over seven years, the documentary offers an intimate portrait of rival fashion “houses,” from fierce contests for trophies to house mothers offering sustenance in a world rampant with homophobia, transphobia, racism, AIDS, and poverty. Featuring legendary performers like Willi Ninja, Pepper LaBeija, Dorian Corey, and Venus Xtravaganza, it is a celebration of the joy of movement, the force of eloquence, and the draw of community.
