Shameless self promotion, but I´m about 50k words deep into a (German, sorry to all of you British folks) story about what could have happened if Valkyrie and Skulduggery had joined Dexter´s team during TM7... the main POVs are Dexter´s, Val´s and Saracen´s and the focus is on the mission as well as on the characters´ feelings / relationships.

Know I’m a little late getting into the bandwagon lads but seemed like a good time to post this.

Anyway go read Skulduggery Pleasant by Derek Landy for a much better story and magic based society. Also it’s set in Ireland and the main character, Stephanie/Valkyrie is best friends with a walking, talking, fireball throwing skeleton who drives a Bentley from the 50s and does nothing but talk complete snark. Good Omens fans would enjoy immensely.

Just thinking about how Dexter is completely alone and everyone he loves is dead and knowing Landy he's probably going to die soon and if he does it'll probably be for a pointless reason

I actually really like Militsia?? She seems really sweet and I like her interactions with Val (although sometimes they can feel a bit one sided)

Like she actually raises some good points early on when they first meet + genuinely cares for Val (so far..) rather than using her as some weird ego boost and entertainment unlike a certain scamdullery pheasant
