everyone has been so smart and eloquent about Nope, about the spectacle and the horror & thrill of being "seen", about the "bad miracle" and all its moral implications, and I wanna faff about it too, but what I'm mostly thinking about is how we are both the animal and the technology.
that first "moving picture" of the black man on the horse, the precursor - the "ancestor" - is not just about film and art and entertainment and exploitation and anonymity, but also about the way we are both the jockey and its visual representation, because we inhabit both modes of being: we are riders and hunters, but we also project ourselves into the beyond, into art, film, pictures, technology, artificial intelligence, residing somewhere between the animal and technological. The siblings don't manage to defeat the beast by becoming it or taming it, or by outsmarting it with technology. It's a mixture of both and neither, it's something in between, it's Emerald on a bike and OJ on a horse and the tandem of nature and machine, biology and construct - just like jean jacket.
in that sense, the classical question of "who is the real alien" becomes redundant in this movie. We, all of us, are "not of planet earth", we are literally "out of this world", both inside it and beyond it, we are as strange and maddening as the creature in the sky, devouring everything in our path. our bowels are the camera obscura, and we're constantly feeding, processing, producing content, part sitcom, part horror show, we are the shoe standing up, we too are a bad miracle
Part 2
Trafalgar Law x Reader
Warning: female Reader, use of y/n , Angsty angst, Fluffy Fluff and some suggestive thoughts but nothing wild tho, English is not my first language, so yeah there are some mistakes in this possibly.
Plus I am currently still on my first watch of one piece and am only at Fishman island. So Law isn’t a character I know all to well. So he is more like a mixture out of other ffs descriptions and my own headcanon.
Notes: I never planned on making this second part but because I really am craving more Law in my life and because I got some really nice comments and people asking for a second part, I just had to write a lil something. I really hope you enjoy. And thanks again for all the nice comments. They literally make my day ❤️😭
I am quite shy and rarely comment on posts myself but I m trying to be better with it in the future because honestly sometimes we forget how much some kind words can effect someone. ❤️ thank you all for reading. Have fun.
The first thing you noticed after waking up was the silence. The rumble of thunder and the biting wind could no longer be heard. Tired, you opened your eyes and looked around. Warm rays of light broke through the entrance to the cave. Sleeping pirates in tight embraces lay around you. Your captain had wrapped his stretched arms around as many of them as possible. He was laying next to you in an uncomfortable position on the cold cave floor. Luffy was loudly snoring and mumbling incoherent sentences in his sleep. But despite the uncomfortable resting situation, there was a satisfied smile on his features.
"Well? Awake yet?"
The beautiful archaeologist was sitting next to you, reading a book. She looked at you with a small smile.
" Be careful, the others are still asleep. But you can go outside if you want. The snowstorm has stopped."
Robin had decided to let her friends sleep. It had been too long since they last got a little rest.
With a quiet groan, you straightened your body. You could feel an annoying headache forming. Neck pain, cold and hunger. Even if you were able to sleep, it couldn't have been for very long.
How much you were wishing to be on the Sunny right now. In your soft bed. With linen sheets. In the cozy room you share with Robin and Nami.
You stretched your body and while yawning you started walking your way out of the cave. In your head you were still dreaming. Of soft pillows and fresh-smelling flowers, like the ones that Sanji regularly brought back from the local markets for you girls. Even if his antics could be annoying, the flowers always made you smile brighter.
The girls' bedroom was always tidy and quiet. Only sometimes your giggling got louder if there was something exciting to gossip about. It was your little comfort place on the Grand Line and not only for Sanji the so-called "heaven on earth".
While fixated on your Daydreaming, you walked through the cave until you reached the entrance. You had expected that all the snow might have buried you and it would take a while to shovel your way free, but there was only a small amount of white mass in front of the cave that was relatively easy to climb. As you continued to walk towards the sunny outdoors, your thoughts returned to soft blankets. Soft pillows. And warm arms wrapped around your body.
Wait what?
You shook your head. Such thoughts were completely out of place here. The important thing now was to see how you could all get back to the village and then quickly get something to eat.
But as your legs sank into the deep snow, your selfish daydreams were immediately back.
Warm hands caressing your cheek. A rough voice whispering in your ear. Soft kisses being pressed on your neck.
Tattooed arms that were wrapped around your body and tried pulling you closer to his heaving chest.
These thoughts kept you more than warm as your thighs sank deeper into the cold snow.
No matter how hard you tried to categorize these thoughts as wrong and banish them from your brain all at once, each time they came back even stronger.
Would he touch you like that? Would his hands be as soft as you imagined? How much you would love to run your hands over his tattooed arms. Over his long fingers. And over whatever else was hidden under his covered chest.
The first time you met him, he had been wearing a dark shirt. It had been unbuttoned at the top and while observing him from a little distance, you had seen that his dark tattoos continued on his chest. But you couldn't see much. And as if he had noticed how you were literally trying to undress him with your eyes, he had turned in a different direction. You had stood there, caught, perplexed, confused, while a heart eyed Sanji had been dancing around you singing compliments to you in your new dress.
You remember hushing to Nami about those same tattoos. You had tried to make it sound as neutral as possible. Simply interested in the art under his skin.
But Nami had already figured you out. She knew how interested you were in the captain of the other crew. But instead of secretly whispering with you, she had decided to push you in his direction. She had tapped the tall man on the shoulder and asked loudly if he could take off his clothes, so that you could admire his tattoos.
You could have killed your best friend in this very second.
After he stared at the navigator with a questioning and almost angry looking face, the red head pushed you in front of the doctor. Feeling heat all over your body, the words you were trying to say came out kinda stuttered.
"I .. I'm ... sorry. There must have been a… misunderstanding. Nami wasn’t…, Captain... uh... yes, I... was just wondering if all those tattoos must have hurt?"
A incredibly stupid excuse.
"You know… because I heard that it hurts, not that I think you're too weak... no, i definitely don’t.. I know how strong you are... I mean... Chopper told me about it and well, our captain always talks about your fights... You..."
You were not really forming coherent sentences. You wanted to run away or sink into the ground. No matter how you turned it around, it would never become a sensible explanation.
The man in front of you had looked puzzled. You were way to nervous to look into his eyes.
If you hadn't been so focused on your sentences and the awkwardness of the situation, you might have seen how gentle his gaze was. Almost confidently smirking downwards.
He had just wanted to interrupt you and was planing on explaining his tattoos to you, when the loudest strawhat pulled Law towards him with his outstretched arms.
"Traaaaaaa Guuuuuuyyy! Haha. Look what I made for you." The boy was holding a plate in front of his face. It was a mountain out of various food. Meat. Vegetables. A huge amount of dry rice. It looked like an inedible mess that the other captain had formed with his own hands. At least that's what Law assumed when he saw the straw hat's food covered hands, sending a shiver down his spine. How could this young man be so out of his mind? Law felt the urge to loudly slap his palm against his forehead. The stupidity and naivety of the strawhat-ya was too much to bear. But with a little squint, even he realized that the mess on the plate in front of him looked a lot like one of his crew members.
" shishishi it looks like your bear friend, torao. Do you like it ? "
Law just rolled his eyes. That was the reason ? Angrily he stared down at the other captain. He couldn’t believe he had just been interrupted in the moment, he had the chance of a conversation with his crush! Well, not that y/n was a crush... no. Definitely not. Law just wanted to make conversation. Completely normal. Without any ulterior motives. After all, she was the newest member of the friendly pirate gang. That would only be polite. Law talked himself out of any palpitations. Was it just him or was it just really warm on this island? Besides, there was the campfire. That was an explanation on while he was feeling that way. He was definitely not feeling that warm because of some woman.
A really really cute woman.
A really cute woman standing a few tables next to him. Still at the same space, talking nervously to Nami.
The cold snow under your feet became less and less. It barely reached your ankles. The sun was shining on your face as you breathed in the fresh air. The world around you was clear and bright. Now you could see where you were. When you had all sought shelter to hide from the coming storm, the rain and snow had already been so thick that you could hardly see anything. You had been glad that Franky had discovered the cave with his headlights.
You weren’t even that far from the village. If you would have known you could have even climbed down the mountain during the storm. But because nobody had a clue where you guys were, it was saver to stay and wait for the storm to end. The cave was on the mountain between the harbor and its tiny town and the small fishing village on the other side of the island. The harbor was run by the marines and it was impossible to go there. But in the town, there were stores and places where Franky could get the parts he needed to repair on the Thousand Sunny. The fishermen had also reported that there was a small Inn in the small harbor town where they could spend the night. That had been the actual plan. Get fresh food and the repair parts. To spend the night in the town and then go back to the sunny to repair it. But you never got that far.
The snow glistened in the sunlight. A small smile flitted across your face. Even if the last few days hadn't been ideal, you were still really relieved. Everyone was doing well. No one had been tragically injured and the little bit of peace and quiet had certainly done everyone some good.
Next to your tracks in the snow, a few others were starting to appear. They couldn't be old. They were definitely fresh footprints. Probably boots.
The prints were bigger than yours. Had someone been missing when you left the cave? Immediately your thoughts went back to the tall captain. Your heart began to beat loudly.
Your eyes wandered over the landscape. And not far from you, a figure was sitting on a tree trunk in the snow. As you approached quietly, you realized that he wasn’t alone. From afar you couldn’t make out the other being in the white snow. His white fur, tousled as he was laying on the ground listening to Law while making snow angels. Bepo looked like a small child. Only in the body of a huge polar bear.
„How cute.“ you thought. A broad grin crossing your cheeks.
Until Law started talking.
"I really don't know what to do, Bepo. Every rule I ever set for myself is
Absolutely against this!“ he shook his head slightly. "fuck I can't stop thinking about her" cursing he put his face into his hands, looking down and taking a deep breath.
Who was he talking about? Quietly sneaking a little closer, you hoped the captain was too lost in thought to spot you with his Haki.
"Oh Captain. Doesn't it feel good? The most important thing is that you're well!"
The polar bear hugged his captain and talked to him gently.
"Never mind Bepo. I'm sorry to bother you with something like this. The last few weeks I could have used your time better than constantly talking about y/n"
Wait. Your name?
" I'm sure she's not interested in me anyway. After all, she's on a ship with that lovesick cook. Or the swordsman is probably much more interesting to her anyway."
"Don't tell yourself that Law. Chopper told me how much she appreciates you. Besides, she's probably annoyed by Zoro and Sanji's constant bickering.
I'm sure she thinks you're just as great as we do, boss."
There was a tired smile on Law's face. No matter how distressed and confused he was on the inside, Bepo was always a reason for him to make this feeling disappear. The polar bear apparently had no idea how much Law wanted your attention. Never would thoughts like his fly through his best friend's brain.
The way he craved your touch. And the way he got hot inside as soon as he thought of your innocent eyes looking at him from below. He wanted for you to like him a lot more than his crewmates did. Bepo was way to naive to understand why Law was waking up covered in sweat with his pillow covering his lower body when Bepo wanted to see how he was doing the other morning. Not for the first time, he wondered if he could get away with kidnapping you. Surely the strawhat-ya would be more than pissed. But it would be worth to have some time alone with you. Law had to sigh. His thoughts too shameful to ever voice them.
" Let's go back to the cave. We have more important things to do."
And with a quick -shambles- from Law, the two Heart Pirates disappeared out of your sight.
Relieved that you had not been seen, you were sitting behind a rock. You could hardly believe what you had overheard.
At first you were afraid Law was talking about someone else. Maybe Robin or Nami. They were both beautiful and clever. And both had already fought alongside him. You, on the other hand, had hardly any experience of fighting and although you had already noticed through Sanji's affection that other people perceived you as attractive, you would never have compared yourself to your friends. Both were so beautiful, kind and graceful
and yet Law had said your name.
Although you were automatically ashamed of this thought, you thought of Law laying in bed with you again, stroking your hair and repeating your name over and over again.
You wanted to bury your head in the cold snow. The heat caused by these thoughts was just too much. Annoyed and confused with yourself, you slowly made your way back towards the cave.
Your heart beating so loud you thought it would jump out of your chest.
Two days later
With a tired smile, you said goodbye to Bepo and Ikkaku. Penguin walked behind them. Before he left with the others to return to the harbor, he turned back to you.
"Hey y/n, if that crazy strawhat ever gets tired of the pirate life, our captain would certainly have no problem with you joining our crew."
He leaned his head in my direction and winked " I think he would be more than satisfied with you on board"
Laughing, he walked through the door. Closely followed by Shachi, who formed his hands into a heart and sang something unintelligible.
You couldn't help but roll your eyes. Was it that obvious?
But no matter how hard you tried not to react to the teasing comments, your face turned red when you saw Law in the corner of your eye. Whether he heard it or not, you knew this was going to be awkward as soon as you were standing face to face.
Law had of course heard what his crew had implied. But he could hardly think about it, because at the same moment the straw hat wrapped its arms around the doctor several times. If he was going to try hugging him even more, Law was sure he would end up literally crushing him.
"Let go of me immediately, Straw Hat-ya!“
" shishishi. Sure thing, Torao. Have a good journey."
Luffy's grin went from ear to ear.
Law didn't really know what to do next. He had planned to just calmly say goodbye to the others. Without any big words, and above all without any more hugs.
These crazy pirates brought out the worst in him anyway. He was always annoyed at how much he didn’t think about real life issues and even smiled from time to time. It could hardly go on like this. After all, he had a reputation to uphold.
He took a step back and spoke to the rest of the friendly crew.
" I'll see you again in two months. If you find out anything important, you'd better call us right away via the telesnail. It means a lot to me, that we are helping us in these troubling times as an alliance. Thank you for your support."
He was about to leave when something pulled at his long coat.
"Oh, Doctor Law, before you go, here are the books I borrowed from you. I was not aware of some of these treatments. So thank you very much. I look forward to working with you again."
Chopper stood proudly in front of him and gave Law back three thick medicine books. How the little reindeer was able to carry these books at all puzzled Law. But presumably one of the others had helped him. Probably Robin. The devil fruit user patted Chopper proudly on the head. A wry grin on her face. "We're all looking forward to seeing you again Trafalgar, aren't we
y/n ? "
Robin gently nudged your arm and looked expectantly into your flushed face. Inside you were cursing her. How could she have found out how you felt about the tattooed captain too. Apparently everyone knew by now anyway.
" Uh, yeah. Sure... I... eh, we all appreciate you very much. And we're happy to help you, of course. It's important to us to be there for you. And to support you on your mission. I hope everything goes well with you... with you and your crew. We want to see you back in good health."
You look in his direction with an innocent laugh. You felt beyond awkward. Were you making a fool out of yourself again?
You didn't really want to see all your friends making fun of you while you were desperately trying to talk to your crush. But when your lowered gaze went up, only a satisfied smile sat on Law's face.
Robin and Chopper turned towards the other Strawhats.
While Law was still glancing at you. His eyebrows furrowed as if he was thinking hard about something to say. After a moment of silence, he was clearing his throat.
Softly, he whispered a " Take care of yourself, Y/N-ya." in your direction.
"And you take care of yourself, Law."
Smiling, you looked once more at the handsome face in front of you. His eyes were almost shining and a quick glance at his lips made your heart beat faster.
Law wondered if he should say something else. Something that could give you certainty. But apart from a softly breathed "Y/N", nothing came from his lips.
The other pirates around you were long forgotten. Your friends saying goodbye to the other crew members, Luffy dancing around the room laughing while Sanji explained to him why he had to wait until the food was ready, and Chopper proudly telling Nami about his new knowledge. While Usopp was making fun of a loudly snoring swordsman.
Even Brook's singing was just background noise. The only thing you could hear was the loud pounding of your heart and the soft voice of the Supernova repeating your name again.
Without thinking, you took a step towards the man in front of you. He was so tall, you had to lean your head back quite a bit to keep seeing his face.
Law's head was in chaos. The rational part of him would now take a quick step back, not ever look at you again and run away with a grim expression.
But his heart had already chosen a different path. His body decided what to do next for him. Although a moment ago Luffy had his arms around Law and he cursed any form of embrace, now he longed for it. As if she had read his thoughts, Y/N put her hands around his neck and hugged him tightly. Even though his head was still not fully aware what was happening , law wrapped his strong arms around her body. How he would have loved to pull her even closer to him. But there was no time for that. And would she even want that? He could ask her to run away with him? He can’t believe his thoughts were this idiotic.
Than the brief moment was over. Neither of them wanted to draw any more attention to themselves.
He detached himself and gave you a nod with his hat hiding his eyes, before turning around and following his crew with determined steps.
Did that really just happen?
Yes, it was only a hug. But for you it was more than just that. The way he had whispered your name, what was he trying to tell you? Maybe he had that feeling too. Longing.
Even after the conversation between him and Bepo that you had overheard the other day, you were still unsure. Did he like you back?
While you stood there rooted to the spot for a few minutes and looked after the Surgeon of Death, your thoughts full of question marks, he was already scolding his silly crew members. Even if he wasn't doing it very well today.
And so he walked with Bepo, Shachi and Penguin back to the bay where his submarine was anchored. His face was red, his gaze downcast and his eyes still hidden under his hat. While Bepo asked questions like "Is it true that you really "like like" her? Or „if she becomes part of our crew, will she sleep in the same room as you?" Or " Penguin said something about you being all dirty? But you just had a shower, haven't you?" Or " Law? Do you think I'll ever find a bear girlfriend?"
Penguin and Shachi cried with laughter.
And although few things in his life have ever embarrassed him as much as the awkward questions and fake kissing sounds of his friends, Law was feeling way to happy and warm at that moment to really care.
This is my first imagine ever. So pls don’t be to harsh😅

I wanna post this with he/him and they/them pronouns too. Just so nobody feels left out ✨
The winter air was terrible cold against y/n`s ears. Instinctively, she buried her face further into her scarf. She hated this time of year, especially in ketterdam. Because of the docks and the sea, it was even colder here than in her former home. She came to Ketterdam years ago, but she still didn’t seem to have gotten used to the city. The city with its dark alleys and dangerous corners. She had been told to get a decent job. Never be Outside in the dark. And above all she should Stay Out of the criminal gangs and their streetfights. And yet here she was, running again in the direction of the Crow Club to meet dirtyhands in person.
After the heavy oak door closed behind her, she took a deep breath. The warm air felt wonderful on her skin. There wasn't too much going on in the club tonight. Which pleased her very much.
" well who do we have here? I was afraid that you wouldn't come because of the snowstorm out there. ”Jesper's voice sounded happily through the room. In his hand he was holding a drink that he halfway spilled on his way to her.
Y / N didn't want to admit it, but she was happy to see him. Most of all, she was pleased that he was already a Bit drunk, so she hoped he wouldn't notice how she blushed while he hugged her.
Together they went to a table in a quieter corner of the crow club. Kaz Brekker sat there with his crowcane in his hand and sighed as Y/N and Jesper approached. Shortly afterwards she noticed Inej emerging from the shadows. She quietly sat down next to Kaz, keeping a safe distance as always. Y / N wasn't sure if she was doing it to give Kaz more space or to better protect herself. Y/N sat down next to Nina who was sitting on the other side of the table and apparently had a lot of fun giving a already drunken Mattias more and more alcohol.
Jesper sat down next to Y/N with a loud noise and started talking about his win today. He had lost a lot of money in a few card games and then won the Same Money back again after a round of chess. Inej had to explain the rules to him beforehand and was shocked that he really didn't understand how the game worked. His only luck was that his opponent understood it even less and so he had defeated him after a few rounds despite his moderate knowledge of chess.
Y/N was happy to have this group. For her, it almost felt like she had a found family, a home. The others also appreciated her very much. Nina was glad that there was another Grisha in the group. She loved challenging Y/N to play pranks on the other crow members. Even if the others wouldn't admit it, everyone loved the jokes they made up. Only Kaz usually looked offended when the two kept his people from their serious work.
She had also built up a good relationship with Inej in the two years that she had been part of the crows. Both were rather calm and liked to spend time alone. But they loved to talk about novels and books together. Inej and her had already broken into the library of Ketterdam several times at night to be able to read there in peace. Y / N fondly remembers those evenings. Especially Brekker's red-hot face when he found out what they had done. He was incredibly angry and didn't even let them be on the next mission. Meanwhile, Jesper just stood there, amused. Although he was disappointed in both of them too. But more because they didn't ask him to come along. Inej had smirked at the time and said that he was probably jealous. And to this day Y/N kept thinking about it. She could hardly imagine that he wanted to tag along because of the books.
"Hey are you even listening to me"
Jesper moved his hand up and down in front of her face.
"I'm sorry, what did you say?"
Y / N knew this wasn't the first time he'd caught her thinking about him. She reached for the glass that Nina had put in front of her nose a few minutes ago. Hopefully that would take his mind off the nervous expression on her face.
"I thought it would be incredible if I would open a bakery with the money. You know the Money i won earlier"
Y/N looked deeper into her glass. In fact, she hadn't noticed what he'd told her. "Hmm interesting. I uh... would not have thought you were the bakery type. "
"Why not?" Jesper started to grin in amusement. Now he was glad that she was just so embarrassed and looking down. She was indeed looking really cute, while trying to come up with a logical answer that hopefully wouldn't hurt his feelings.
“Well you've shot at least 5 people in the last two days. And uh ... "
Jesper had to laugh out loud. "Hey hey little one, I was just kidding. I was Joking... Something like that happens when you don't listen. ”There was a big grin on his face. It felt like it went from one ear to the other. His dark eyes began to glow. Y/N didn't even notice how long the two had been staring at each other. Jesper looked away with a jerk and began to stammer something to himself, “I actually wanted to ask you something. Are we both going to break into that one library tomorrow night? I heard about this one book. And well we could steal it together. "
Y/N just had to grin. Maybe Inej was right after all and Jesper wanted to spend time with her.
"Sure, why not ... but you know that this is illegal?"
"It's only illegal if we get caught"
The next evening they both met below the roofs of Ketterdam's university district. Jesper's hair was disheveled, probably because he had slept until a few minutes ago. The night before had stolen both of their strength. None of them could really remember much. Once again, Nina had endured the most alcohol, but probably only because she was the one who made the others drink. Inej had gone to bed relatively early and in the early morning twilight still heard the singing voices of Matthias and Jesper. Y / N could roughly remember participating in a drinking game. And somehow she thought she had seen a smiling Kaz, but that would be too improbable.
It wasn't quite as cold as the night before, but because of the tiredness Y / N was all the more cold that day. Jesper didn't seem to have any other way. He had wrapped himself deep in his coat and was wearing a much too long scarf around his neck that he had stepped on twice while running. It was unusual for the shooter to be so calm. Most of the time he would talk out loud about his achievements in playing cards or he would consider a daring mission to get rich. He was very talkative, only today he was speechless.
Getting to the library was very easy there was a secured part in the south wing. Valuable writings from Kerch were stored there. But the two were only looking for a novel that would be insignificant for most People. It didn't take long for the two of them to get into the building over the roof of an adjoining building and through its courtyard.
Y / N knew her way around the library halls; after all, she had often come and gone there at night. Jesper ran right behind her, afraid of losing her between the tall bookshelves. It didn't take long for Jesper to find the right book. It was about tales and horror stories that used to be told to children in front of the campfire. Jesper had overheard Inej talking about this book. She had shared how she loved these stories as a child. That seemed like the right book for the right reason
y / n to dare a night break-in. He had longed to spend time alone with her for a long time. He admired her for her courage and caring. Jesper had been alone for a long time. Far from everything that felt like family. But the Crows gave him a home. Kaz was the protector of the crows and Jesper was happy to have someone like him, but somehow the warmth in the crow club was missing. But the warmth was suddenly there when the young grisha girl ran into his arms two years ago. She has been on his mind ever since. How many times had he caught himself paying special attention to her on missions. Or the many times she was turned on by drunkards and he would have loved to draw his revolver. Even now he could only think of her smile.
She had spread her coat on the floor and was tapping the spot next to her. Jesper sat down next to her, grinning, and began to read.
The warm sun shone on Y / N's face. What a nice way to be awakened. Most of the time she woke up by hearing gunshots in the street or the loud talk of seafarers stumbling towards the port. It smelled of old books, dust and leather. Only now did she realize that she was not in her bed. She opened her eyes carefully, hoping not to wake up in a prison or a cargo ship. But her surroundings were not unknown to her, only she had never seen them in this light. Next to her lay Jesper who had embraced her with both arms. She had never seen him so calm before. His chest moved slowly up and down as he breathed. How beautiful he looked.
"You should hire someone to make a portrait of me, believe me that will last longer."
Jesper's eyes were still closed. Y / N's face turned red again. She had to stop looking at him like that.
"Good morning, how did you sleep between so much Important literature?" She tried to distract from the subject.
Jesper opened his eyes and looked at her. Only now did she realize how close they were. He still had his arms around her. Jesper also noticed now what kind of situation they were in. He opened his mouth to answer when Y / N suddenly perceived voices from outside. She put her finger to his lips and turned her head towards the window. There were three library guards in the courtyard. They had just noticed the open window through which Jesper and Y/N had entered the building the night before.
Without thinking further, both started running. If they hurried they could still get outside via the west entrance before the university square is full of students.
Luckily for them it was easy to run through the great hall into the foyer, Jesper tried hard not to pull out his revolver to get them out of the situation, but Y/n insisted that they could flee without getting noticed. But it was too late, the guards had already spotted them. Jesper took Y/N by the hand and the two ran laughing like two school girls through the corridors until they could escape over the balcony of the west wing.
They laughed and hugged. "Oh Jesper that was close"
"Yes, If i had not been there, you would have never made it out of there"
"If you hadn't been there I would have never fallen asleep in there"
"That's right, but then I would never have been able to do this either."
He leaned over to her and looked at her with an asking expression. For a moment he was afraid of having lost his self-confidence. He wondered if he had misinterpreted anything. All the times she looked at him with a blushing face and glowing eyes. Maybe he was just wrong ...
But He couldn't think clearly anymore because he had already been interrupted by Y / N's lips. At that moment they both forgot everything around them. The dirty city, the cold winter air and the screams of the guards who were still looking for them.
Fuck, I think that's how it feels at home.

I have been annoying everybody since I knew this was gonna be made. I knew this was gonna be the year for bisexuals 😌
So sorry in advance about the person I’m going to be when Challengers comes out

Y/N looked at her girlfriend with a blushed face, but she just took her by the hand and ran after the others. They decided to go to a bar near the bookstore.
Makkari had recommended it, she had been there several times and loved the atmosphere. Y/N had always admired the small bar, but only ever from the outside. It was an old brick building. The windows were darkened and only the candlelight from inside could still be seen through them. If she had known at that moment how the evening would end, Y/N would have turned around immediately and gone home. But even though she was exhausted, tired, and a bit overwhelmed with the whole situation, she had still gratefully agreed when Makkari tickled her to convince her to stay.
Makkari's hand was in hers as the two stepped through the small entrance into the bar. Phastos was visibly having trouble stepping through the small entrance behind the two. Y/N could still hear him complaining. The big man was the last of the group. He was late because he had been on the phone with his husband, so he was the last to make his way to the bar. Makkari held her hand tightly and looked around the room searching for the rest of her family. The Eternals were seated at a large table in the back room of the bar. All but Sprite already had drinks in hand and seemed to be enjoying themselves. Especially Ikaris and Sersei were in a good mood and looked longingly into each other's eyes the whole time. Sprite sat annoyed at the other end of the table, building a tower of beer coasters with Kingo. Karun was cheering for the two of them and at the same time trying to keep his camera straight, which he visibly failed at. Makkari and Y/N went to join the others at the table, Thena slid a bit on the sofa to make room for them. Phastos joined Druig and Ajak and immediately began to talk about his family. "Can you believe that next week is my son's birthday again?"
Ajak looked proudly at Phastos. "Of course, of course, as if we could forget. We'll pay you and your family a visit if that's okay?"
Y/N listened intently to the conversation. Phastos had been the most kind so far. He had proudly told her about his husband and child and how difficult it was for him to be openly queer at first. Y/N loved listening to him. She hadn't often met other queer people and especially hardly any who could actually live a happy life. Too many still faced hate and ignorance on a daily basis. Even though she and Makkari hadn't been together long, she had caught herself thinking what it would be like to marry her one day. And maybe to live in a small family home with her, children and a pet.
Makkari unexpectedly snapped her out of her thoughts with a kiss. " isn't she cute?" she signed to Druig and Gilgamesh who were just talking on the other side of the table, enjoying a shot of tequila. Confused, Y/N looked back and forth between the two. She would have loved to know what they were talking about. "Everything's fine? you look like you're worried" Makkari signed.
Y/n couldn't really answer this question. But she didn't want to lie, she couldn't think of anything better than to flee from the situation. "I'll get us something to drink at the bar" she said instead and went outside the room without waiting for an answer.
She felt horrible as she waited at the bar for her drinks. She had been acting terribly out of line since druig showed up. Makkari was just being friendly and Y/n was ruining everything. Someone behind her tapped her shoulder.
"Hey you, Makkari's friend !, sorry forgot your name. Will you order me one too? I know I look young but I'm old enough. Honestly. I'm not lying, I promise. But I really can't stay sober with those two back there." Sprite pointed to the couple cuddled up on the sofa. Ikaris and sersei were now sitting in the same spot she and makkari had been a few minutes ago.
"I don't know if this is such a good idea Sprite."
"oh come on, please, I really thought you were cool. I really don't feel like seeing Ikaris like this all night."
Y/n briefly wondered if she should ask why Sprite was so Stressed out about the two. But without knowing her, she still kinda knew. Sprite felt much the same way she did.
"Alright, but just one beer! If you want another one you'll have to beg someone else." Sprite looked annoyed, but was still satisfied that she got what she wanted.
"I'd ask Kingo if I were you" Y/N pointed in the direction of the movie star. He and Karun had already emptied a few beer glasses and were now singing a birthday song for Phastos son for their somewhat strange documentary. Phastos just tried to get them from climbing on one of the tables. Even though this situation was funny and somewhat absurd, Y/N preferred to look past the two very drunk men. On one of the other sofas, Druig and makkari were now sitting and talking excitedly. The two of them looked so happy, she thought. Druig had put his hand on Makkari's arm while he was laughing. Y/N thought they looked beautiful together. They were the perfect couple. She felt a different feeling slowly spreading through her. Quite different from the angry jealousy of the afternoon, now she felt only anxious. What if Makkari would leave her. What if Makkari would rather have him? Druig was handsome and strong. And apparently he even was funny and friendly, even if he was only that way to Makkari. Fuck he was perfect for her. Even Y/N had caught herself thinking about his fucking ocean eyes over and over again throughout the day. And when he had taken off his leather jacket, she had to force herself not to look too long at his trained bizeps. The two of them would be better together than Y/N could ever be with anyone. Her hands began to shake and tears formed in her eye. "Excuse me, I'm going to step outside for some fresh air. Y/N picked up her glass and left the building as quickly as possible for the second time that day.
Y/N stood there for quite a while. She already finished her drink and also the one she had ordered for makkari. The alcohol helped, she told herself, while she thought about going back to the bar and getting another drink. But she also knew that she wouldn't be able to drink very much. She had hardly eaten and had been a bit overtired all day, all these factors were not a good basis for drinking away your sorrow. The wind was blowing through the streets again and she was annoyed not to have taken at least her jacket from the sofa, where sersei, Ikaris and Thena were sitting. But she refused to go inside like that. She had been gone from the table for half an hour already and makkari probably hadn't even noticed. She couldn't imagine her pretty girlfriend wandering around the bar looking for her. She was probably still sitting in Druig's arm laughing. Why did he have to look so good? Why didn't Makkari have any ugly, annoying or boring college friends?
"Well, Y/N, are you thinking about me?" said the voice with the thick Irish accent.
"What? Me? No, why should I?" she said, perplexed. She hadn't noticed how the man had opened the door and stood next to her.
"I was just kidding beautiful beautiful Y/N" he said as he lit a cigarette. He held the pack out to her, but Y/N just shook her head.
"Makkari likes you very much. She told me a lot about you before our visit. She even said that your book taste was better than mine." He laughed softly. "And to be honest, she's really right about that." Y/N had to smile. She turned her head and looked Druig in the face. His smile was beautiful. Why couldn't she stop staring at him.
"Makkari always said you were as loving as Sersei, as caring as Ajak, as stubborn as Sprite, and as beautiful as Thena."
Makkari had said something like that about her? Y/N hardly believed what Druig was listing. Did her girlfriend really think so well of her? Perhaps the doubts from before had not been necessary.
"Of course, I didn't believe her at first, how could a human being ever fulfill exactly that? But to be honest, I changed my mind. She forgot to mention how clumsy you are, but I think she was right about everything else."
Y/N's face began to glow. He was just being friendly after all. But then why was this warm feeling spreading through her stomach.
"Wow, you seem to be really cold, you are probably too stubborn to get your jacket.“ he winked“ Well wait, here put mine on." he held his jacket in front of her face.
"No, no, it's okay, it's not that cold."
"Don't talk such bullshit, take my jacket before you freeze to death. Or are you afraid that if you smell my good scent you'll fall in love with me right away?" teasingly he leaned a bit towards her. She was still looking into his blue eyes when he put the jacket around her. The two were now standing very close to each other. All the anger she had felt all day was gone. Maybe she wasn't mad at Druig at all. Maybe she was just mad at herself, how could she dream about this man all day long even though she was in a happy, loving relationship. A man who was a complete stranger. Y/N felt like Druig was a magnet that attracted her, and as she lowered her eyes and they caught at his lips, she couldn't help but imagine kissing him.
"Is that okay?" he asked. Without knowing what exactly he was getting at, she agreed by nodding.
He kissed her like it was all he ever wanted. Y/N had no idea what was happening to her, she just knew she wanted more. Their lips touched gently at first and then with more and more pressure and passion. His lips were warm and soft. They felt so similar to Makkaris. Makkari…
"Fuckkkk. What the hell did we just do." Y/N broke away from Druig aprubtly. She cursed over and over. And paced back and forth in front of the bar.
"I thought that was okay? I'm sorry I definitely didn't mean to pressure you, I thought we felt the same." Apologetically he took another step towards her. Y/N just pushed the jacket into his hand.
" I'm sorry, I don't know what I was thinking. I love Makkari. We are really happy. I can't just ruin my relationship like that. I..."
Y/N gestured wildly. What the hell was she thinking. She really had to destroy everything. She hardly realized how drunk she was after all when she tripped over the sidewalk the second time that day.
Before she could fall onto the street, Druig held her by the wrist. "I got you, love. Please stay. Let's talk about this…“
But Y/N didn't want to talk. "Sorry I...I better go home." she said. He let go of her wrist and she ran across the street between the parked cars. Past the bookstore towards the Train station. Tears flushed her face and blocked her view.
An hour later, she sat in her kitchen, somewhat calm. She had just thought about todays events. It was like an awful nightmare.
Y/N made her favorite tea and sat on her bed. When she got up early in the morning, she definitely didn't think that the day would end like this. She took another sip. And her thoughts went from the beginning through the whole day again.
