Hylewood Round 1 - Atwood

Part Four

We left off with Sarah and William in a big fight that their daughter Jessica heard and was having bad dreams about her parents breaking up :(

But they made up and life went on in the lovely little Hylewood

Jessica was still worried about her parents and she rolled the want to be best friends with William. I think she's a little Daddy's girl and was worried about him, so they spent his day off talking and playing together. Meanwhile Charlotte was baking on her kids oven to keep her bake sale table stocked.

But Charlotte talked her mom into taking her to the library as she wanted to do some reading. (Probably to read the baker's report and get some new cookie recipes. Her muffins weren't selling too well)

Charlotte is my little bookworm so she rolled the want then to read 12 books! (I love the little kids section that @katyfernlily built!). While Charlotte read Sarah focused on making some new friends with the Baker Annie (who has since gotten a make over) and in the back is Annie's husband Tenya (the town doctor) reading as well. I hope he's reading up on delivering babies.

La Mairie de l'ile Saint Greer - Saint Greer Town Hall

As a side project I decided to build in Saint Greer Islands. I was inspired by the latest Syboulette Boulangerie set to build some Parisian style buildings, and it's turned into wanting to try to fill Saint Greer with some traditional French style builds. I'm quite in love with how it turned out, with the bougainvillea on the back and the fountains in the garden (landscaping is still the hardest part for me). The plan is to have the mayor and city planner with private offices inside, with a large meeting room and then a courtroom and law office upstairs. I think it looks a little busy with all the trees in the front, once I've filled in some of the surrounding lots I might revisit it and simplify if needed, but for now I gives it such a lush presence. So for now, here is the finished exterior of the Town Hall (which translates La Mairie in French, how lovely).

Part 3

We left off with Sarah and William giving each other some back rubs...well we all know what back rubs lead to...

Yup, risky woohoo....in the guest bedroom (Why do sims do this? Why walk all the way upstairs to the undecorated guest room intead of doing it in your own bed that is *right* there?)

Welp, next day guess who is morning sick? Yup, Sarah. She's pretty pleased as she always wanted more children, but not sure how William will take it.

Sarah was excited to share the happy news but William was not as excited as she thought he would be. In fact, he was down right mad. He is clearly worried this isn't a good time and that he needs to focus on his career.

What they didn't know was that Jessica was listening at the top of the stairs and fell asleep worried about her parents relationship.

Hylewood Round 1 -Atwood

Part Two

While William focuses on his political career at City Hall, the girls are enjoying summer break. Thanks to @misspats3 better playdates mod the neighbor Amy Miller called and asked if her son Devon could come play with the girls. Amy is naturally shy so she and Sarah didn't gain much friendship, but Devon and Jessica hit it off.

Charlotte on the other hand has the loner trait so she preferred to swing on the swings, read, and run her bake sale (maybe a future baker or entrepreneur?)

Pretty soon Jessica was wanting to become best friends with Devon and I just love these two.

Sarah is the school teacher so she decided to study some skills online to prep for fall. And next thing ya know I see William is home and these two are autonomously giving each other back rubs. They are so in love.

Needed to build a house to take some preview pictures for my next cc conversion set and I was in CC heaven today. I mean look at this sim with hair by @rollo-rolls​, beautiful dress and hat by @keibea​ who makes the most perfect outfits. I just am so happy with little test sim Callie that now I have to find a way to keep her. 

But also, checked out the world of Mount Estelle by @pxelblobs​ and IT IS SO FREAKING GORGEOUS! The parks are fan-freaking phenomenal and I was blown away. My build is taking shape and is based off of this wonderful Sims 4 one here X but had to check out the rest of the world too. The parks are so beautiful and the library is 100% amazing. With all that beautiful cc I couldn’t help but take even these unedited photos. (Also shame on little Callie walking in a library barefoot ;) 

Just wanted to say thank you to these wonderful creators and share so hopefully others can enjoy too. Also hoping to finish up the last little things and have a conversion released soon. TSRW has been kicking my butt! But I’m very hopeful that soon I will have some wonderful, high quality conversions to share. 

*Also I fixed my Hylewood save and just need to organize some screenies and queue them up. Also have a few more Christmas conversions I just need to finish and post and then who knows where the new year will take us!

Hylewood Round 1 - Atwood

Using Zerbu’s Ultimate Career mod (updated by the lovely Sonya YA on MTS) for the very first time and trying out the politics career. Well, the first town meeting did not go well. Nearly the entire town showed up and turns out only one chair was actually able to be ‘sat in’ thanks to move objects (and that one chair has the town doctor who got this horrible randomly generated career outfit that will be fixed soon). Poor William. 

But some drama did start to go down outside, two of the towns teenage boys started to get in a fight outside, seems like Aaron is bullying poor Nathan. Nathan’s family rotation is up next so we’ll have to see what’s going on there. 

Even though there was a lot of upset sims, William is making progress in his career and is now up to level 3. Well done buddy. 

The lovely Andram @andramsimming and Jamie @simmingaroundtheworld have created something AMAZING! This is being used in Hylewood ASAP. Thank you lovelies!

Hey Guys!  Wanted to start sharing my recent save. I’m playing rotationally in the beautiful Hylewood by @nilxis! This is my first rotation since finishing doing some of my own builds and I’m excited to share a mix of gameplay, story, and occasionally posed photos. 

Atwood Family Bio:

Hello from Hylewood’s oldest family line, William Atwood’s great grandfather helped discover and found this Island and they have been helping the Island grow ever since. William is in the political career trying to make his way up to mayor. His wife Sarah is the local teacher and they have two beautiful daughters Charlotte (left) and Jessica (right). 

One of the wealthiest families on the Island, William is a perfectionist who deeply cares about appearances. He makes sure his daughters are well behaved straight A+ students, while his wife helps brings out the family’s gentler nurturing side. William is perfectly happy with how life is going, but his wife Sarah thinks that maybe they have room in the family for one more. 

This is an awesome mod that I have play tested and it make so many new types of businesses possible! Gone are the Sims 3 days of savy seller rugs everywhere, instead we’ve been gifted a marvelous Sims 2 ofb inspired mod that makes business dreams come true! I’m seriously so excited to see what the community can do with this. I have so many ideas for new shops, and I’m sure so do many others. If you’ve ever wanted to run a ts3 business this is the mod for you! 

Yay, it’s finally here! Sim State Dude’s Open For Business for Sims 3 has arrived! Sunset Valley Car Dealership

This build was inspired by the just released Sim State Open for Business Mod that will allow you to run you very own business in the Sims 3! I was privileged to be a Mod Tester and decided I wanted to run a car dealership for the sims of Sunset Valley, so Ta-Dah! Here is a fully functional (or a great decorative lot) new Car Dealership for your sims.

Also a few tips for running this lot with Sim State: 1. First swap out the ATS Register with the SimState Register 2. Open your business from the computer on this lot (not your home computer!) 3. Stock up on a few Sloppy Jalopys and the cheap Jeep Wrangler as the sims tend to buy the less/least expensive at first and then the more expensive items help you level up your business fast!  4. Lock the office door with Nraas Go Here (optional but otherwise sims will be hanging out on your office computer all the time :P ) 5. Become a Business Boss! In my tests I was usually able to reach a 5 star business within a week or two of playing (depending on your store hours of course ;) I had a TON of fun as it was sooooo gratifying to watch the Bunch family teens come buy their first car, or the Keaton’s get their “family car”.  Just watch those evil sims *cough*  Claire Ursine *cough* to see if they try to steal anything!

Mason’s Home Updates

Today I’m sharing some home updates. My sweet friend Becca who I visited at the blogging conference is an interior designer and she helped us pick paint colors, and her husband and mine came and tore up walls, put in new floors, and put up trim and paint. I love the new black doors, white trim and finally white windows.    Here are some before and afters!  The Before of the entryway in one word was: Dark! 

I’m so in love with the after. The bench was an antique store find, and I love the half shiplap, half painted walls Becca helped us with. I love all the flowers in this space and it’s so functional for our needs.

Here’s the before of the living room. Can you tell that we bought this house from some elder sims? But now I love how light and bright it is. The fireplace is my favorite and I love how now the center of our home feels so peaceful and inviting. We have also finished the laundry room and downstairs bathroom, so all that’s left is the kitchen/dinning area. But I think the next space I’ll be sharing is my office make over. (Or cute pictures of our animal friends! Speaking of Bella is being her normal self making a mess and photobombing these living room photos!)

Puppy Love: Meet Bella

Sending a little update on things here on Adoption Ranch. Today I want to you meet Bella, our cute little golden retriever puppy! Here’s how she was described to us when we went to adopted her (the EA story)  “This little puppy is a terrible terror! The constant yapping, digging, and slobbering EVERYWHERE is enough to drive anyone up a wall! Luckily he found a home with the Masons, a couple with more than enough love to lavish on this needy pup.” We’re hoping to teach her some good behavior and eventually maybe breed her once she’s grown so we can have MORE cute puppies! So enjoy the pictures of Isaac and I going goo goo over this sweet girl. 

Stargazing

“Grace, what are you doing out here?” Matt came and stood beside her on the deck railing, as he closed the door the happy chatter of Bible Study grew dim again and the summertime crickets returned.

Gracie let Matt lean next to her and she pointed to the stars. “It’s a meteor show tonight. It doesn’t start ‘til later but I thought I’d see if I could find any shooting stars. Plus it was getting a little stuffy in there. I mean its great that it’s so full,” Gracie began to stammer, not wanting him to get the wrong idea. “I love seeing so many people at our home group, all hungry to learn about Jesus, don’t get me wrong…”

“It’s just a lot of new faces at once right?” He asked gently. Gracie relaxed and nodded “I hear you. Plus it’s so nice out here! Want to sit?” Matt motioned to the ground and Gracie joined him, a respectable space away. They started pointing out constellations and easily chatting as the night grew darker, and slowly the bible study inside emptied of people. “Hey Grace?” “Yeah?”

“Do you know that I like you?” His voice was timid, which was different from his usual cocky confidence.

But Gracie was to focused on the sky to notice. “Yeah, of course. I mean I like being friends too.” “No, I mean I like you silly girl,” Matt said again, realizing she had no clue. He looked deeply at her as her head whipped around to look at him.

“Me?” She squeaked, and then began coughing. Matt laughed and patted her back until she stopped. “I’m flattered, I mean, I guess I hoped, but I just didn’t think I was your type I guess. I thought photographers only dated models? I just…” She stopped as Matt laughed again, and she felt her nervous heart beating fast.

“Well then you be my new model. Grace, you’re beautiful, you’re smart and kind, why wouldn’t you be my type?” “Ha, me a model, yeah right. You need someone fancier, whose idea of  a good Saturday is a day at the spa and a photo shoot on the beach, not a girl like me who spends her day knee deep in dirt in the garden, grading children’s papers and watching movies with her cat.”

“But I love cats!”

Gracie laughed, “Well we’ll have to see if my cat likes you.” “Deal, so if your cat likes me will you go out with me?” Gracie decided to tease, “I mean, I guess, but that’s pretty risky she doesn’t  like a lot of people.” “I’ll take my chances”

Loved playing this family. Really did. Love the backstories of some of the EA townies. 

Appaloosa Plains Townie Make Overs

As part of my last post you ‘met’ Kelsey, so here’s a bit more about her and her husband Isaac, who both started as townies.

I was looking for a new family and fell in love with this sweet couple’s story in Appaloosa Plains. Decided to give them a makeover and play through some of their story.

Here was their original story: The Marshalls are madly in love, have a beautiful home, and successful careers. What could go wrong? A glossy exterior hides their secret pain - try as they might they’ve been unable to have a child. Crib, toy box, and highchair sit unused, and so the Marshall’s bide their time and mask their emotions by adopting all the pets they can handle. Puppies, kittens, foals - anything they can nurse and cherish, they welcome into their home. Will they one day be able to have the final addition that would make their family complete?

Kim and Felipe Marshall are now Kelsey and Isaac Mason!

Their new story: Meet the Masons! Hi there! We’re the Masons! Isaac and I met in college where I was a business major and he was a Criminal Justice major but we bonded over our love of animals. We dream of one day running a rescue ranch, taking in animals, training them, and then helping them find new homes to love them as their own. I (Kelsey) also have a huge love of all things baby so expect to see lots of pictures of foals, kittens and puppies here (and also possibly some guinea pigs, turtles, snakes or lizards)!

Currently I work as social media and graphic design manager with a local pet store and Isaac is on the police force living his dream. I’d love to be able to be able to eventually be a full time blogger for our ranch to be able to run our animal rescue as a business but for now I juggle both! We’re excited to have you along for the ride.

Hey friends! Gracie here! I’m excited to be packing up to head to a blogging conference. Since blogging is so new for me I thought it’d be great to get some tips and it just so happens a few of my best friends are attending as well. Can’t wait to see them all!

Becca has been showing us darling pictures of her little boy and hubby and she’s here to get her home decorating blog bringing in more business. Her husband’s a contractor and she’s the designer and they do such great work together. Kelsey and her husband Isaac are running a ranch where they help rehabilitate and train animals as a way to save up for an adoption of their own sweet baby. And Jenna and her mom just opened a new Day Care called Haven Childcare and she’s working to learn to promote her business too.

I’m so grateful to be reunited for a weekend and that they all live closer now so hopefully you’ll see them again soon.

Simblr Simply for Fun Mini Challenge 4

Loved this mini challenge from Frankie! Both these sims started so beautifully it was hard to change them!

Meet Ezekiel and Kira. I loved the freckles on Zephyr so I didn’t want to change his skin, but I did do some tweaking to his nose and mouth as well as new hair and clothes. In Winchester now he’s a firefighter who wants to promote and start a family with his fiancé Kira.

For Lina, I mostly just changed her eye shape and brow shape, but I love how the bangs soften up her face. In my mind she loves children, and she works at the Winchester Library, and she loves to get to know the kids and recommend books for them, as well as her weekly story time is legendary among the little tikes.

~S P R I N G  ~

Hi Friends, I’ve been busy lately mostly working on the garden and happy to add some new friends to the farm. This spring I’ve decided to add Ducks and Chickens here! I can’t wait for delicious eggs to bake with and share with friends, but every spare moment I’ve had lately has been tending new plants, watching the ducklings learn how to swim, or watching the new chicks follow their Mama’s around. I can’t help falling in love with all the spring babies around here!

Haven’t had much drive to go in game lately. Thinking about starting something new, to see if that keeps me motivated. Kinda like a town news paper with multiple characters and stories that all intertwine….we’ll see.

In the meantime here’s an old winter mood board I made for Gracie. More to come.

~F A L L ~  So beyond thrilled at how the office remodel came out! I love this space!  The white shiplap in this room is such a dream come true for me. I love having such a lot of storage so that I have such a clean slate to grade papers and write books on.
