Hi, guys.

I know I’ve been sort of off the platform for a while but I’m here to tell everyone that this blog isn’t dead. I’ve been gone for three reasons:

Tumblr’s environment when it comes to its user base and platform has changed dramatically. What started as a fun little blogging site turned into a war zone full of political stuff popping up on my dash with the ongoing conflicts of the world (along with a good heap of antisemitism). I’ve only been catching up to mutual blogs every once in a while but it hasn’t been the same since a couple months ago.

I haven’t got a lot to post about lately and a lot happened over my winter break. Sure I posted a recent artwork of mine a bit of a while ago but then again it wasn’t consistent afterwards.

I’ve been cooking up a personal project of mine, well actually two in particular but I haven’t fully decided on what to start on first. But whatever it would be I do hope to post more of that consistently whenever it’s close to being fully done. I’ve been plotting it and connecting major events together and so far it’s been a puzzle. Overall I can’t wait to start updates if I manage to come around to it.

Anyway, just a blog update. I really do hope it gets better on here though but we’ll have to see when the tide gets steady again. In the meantime, I’ll just be preparing before I go back to school again.

I hate it here now Tumblr isn’t fun anymore.

I came here to express my art and creativity while also maybe gaining a bigger following but I’m not so sure anymore.

For one I haven’t gotten anywhere during the past year. I’ve been posting more OG stuff yet no traction at all.

Tumblr used to be a silly old site where I could not only scream into the void but also allowing anything of niche interest. But now it’s just a sad, empty place…dead even.

I had my very first blog during 2019 in which doesn’t exist anymore and I can say for sure that it has not been the same since the period of 2019-2021. I really miss that era when it was actually fun and experimental.

The recent additions to the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been steadily falling off anyhow thanks to Disney, so I wasn’t too surprised at this news.

However I’d like to also point out the absolute hypocrisy of this decision:

Sabra was an early character during the beginning eras of marvel, which unlike how black panther was made for the sole purpose of fighting back in a cause, Sabra was and additional character to diversify the many heroes from all over the globe. This component is the key part of Sabra. Taking that away on the mcu’s part not only opposes their modernized “representation motive” while also being antisemetic without making it seem as antisemitism.

As a film major I’m already super disappointed to the direction of modern releases and especially pissed off that Hollywood continues their double standards when it comes to Jewish representation within characters and the stories they inhabit. It’s everything inclusive except for Jews; they are simply not allowed to be in character spaces.

Stories are a part of what makes us human; removing one of many varieties of such defeats this purpose.

My point is, stories are for everyone, including for Jewish people!

So is making her RUSSIAN somehow less controversial than making her Israeli?? Really??

It is absolutely disgusting to erase a character's identity like this. I'm not a marvel fan, but as an Israel-born Jew I was looking forward to on-screen representation and would've loved to see Sabra on screen.

Definitely won't be watching now, what's even the point?
