i was thinking about it lately. I'm writing my own story and it doesn't have gore, as it has more of a psychological turn, so i got interested in fandom's thoughts on this topic. What does a non-gorey creepypasta need to have to scare it's reader?

the only pasta that wasn't particularly gorey that i've stumbled upon was ben drowned, if we're talking about the arg version. maybe i didn't search hard enough...

if you're still here - i would've loved if you recommend me good non-gorey reads, i will be very grateful to have some examples of how i can make my own story scary enough! <3

I grew up with

horror movies, shooter games, creepypasta, fnaf, weird youtubers, and unrestricted internet access

I'm not mad about it tho, at least now I can handle stuff like horror or just in general nasty stuff really well

also happy that I didn't grow up with the gen alpha brainrot
