World Building Tip: Research every culture you wish to "emulate"

Example: I wanted some form traditional tattooing for one of my cultures.

So I researched traditional Polynesian tattooing practices not only for 'inspiration' but so I know the cultural significance of the practices I wish to emulate in a fictional setting.

You cannot forget that the practices, places and objects you become inspired by to add to your world have real world ties and roots that you're inadvertently adding to your worldbuilding.

You don't want someone to find something in common with your world building and find it construed in a horrible way--ultimately and sometimes accidently being racist or insensitive to someone elses culture.

cranboo headcannons but they are made up on the spot

1.he wore gloves during nlm and that's why they didn't know they had silk touch hands.

2.piggy backing off of that, ze also used glove etiquette and had a wide collection of gloves lost during doomsday.

3.she uses all pronouns after revival and he/they before then, after learning about pronouns. limbo made cranboo use neopronouns amen

6.ranboo has a bunch of charms tied to vear tools and weapons (some made by friends!)

8.cir has like two suits and one is falling apart and one is slightly newer and both dont really fit but she refuses to wear anything else. they smell like lavender thou!

9.they collect sticks from trees along with different kinds of grass blocks

10.ranboo has a lot of verbal stims that he tries to repress around most people out of embarrassment. the more noises you hear her make the more comfortable they are around you!

11.kay talks soooo much in hys sleep. like for real. also lots of noises like chirps and stuff. just talking to him or poking him will cause many noises.

12.vee will carry around micheal sometimes just out of a need to protect him. but they still go on walks together and micheal is still allowed to do things. just sometimes ranboo is feeling extra paranoid and protective.

13.technoblade and ranboo have weekly tea meetings where they both have/try a different flavor of tea. neither of them like tea that much (techno prefers coffee, ranboo is not a fan of drinks) but they do it anyway

14.ranboo will give out gifts all the time, even if they dont look like gifts! like grass and dirt everywhere in phil's house. it makes since to ranboo and no one else.

15.ranboo once got slapped by another enderman and didnt show his face for a week. shame..

16.ranboo is fluffy all over and one time had a makeover with niki and she tried (and sort of failed) to put tiny clips and bows on some of his face fluff.

17.ranboo is fuzzy all over, less than fluffy. like just a little bit of fluff ya know? it grows faster on her head so theres very very soft hair there.

18.ranboo has accedentally gotten hys horn stuck in a tree before. (i hc that they have one small and one big horn)

19.very cuddly and loves to cuddle with zir pets. ranboo will lay across tubbo when its most inconvenient (think cat)

20.ranboo has saved every drawing micheal has made and carefully curated it into folders

things I’ve experienced working at the smp museum

Tommy innit (the kid who was exiled) put himself through recreations of traumatic experiences in some twisted version of exposure therapy

someone asked what the camarvan was and i had to explain that it was the catalyst for the creation of l’manburg and also a drug van

some kids tried to recreate the final control room betrayal for a school project but the kid playing eret (the traitor in the lmanburg war for independence and also my boss) stood on top of the chest for the infamous line and fucking fell off and broke their nose

someone tried to steal the camarvan

some kid doing a project on heredity said they had to pick one famous figure and for some goddamn reason they picked Wilbur soot so i had to explain the bastards fucked up family tree and i have never seen someone so confused (kid if you’re out there good luck on your project)

someone who knew Far too much about soot came and demanded we add an exhibit dedicated to his sand-eating habits

someone tried to defend dream and i just left bc what the Fuck

one day my boss said they were going to some cult banquet (i don’t handle the egg shit that’s my coworkers domain) and i got to spin in their office chair

heard later the cult banquet ended with multiple murders. not surprised.

got an assignment to hang up a “historically significant painting” but it was just a picture of first gentleman ranboo my beloved in a locket with his name??? but yknow his husband has nukes so I’m not gonna protest

some kid called the front desk at like midnight and asked if being straight was ok. first of all why the fuck are you calling a history museum second of all i was really confused and panicked and said “what’s a straight” and hung up so uh sorry kid
