ABOUT tw parental death, injury mention
cary was born the youngest of three (and only boy) to nigerian immigrants in atlanta, georgia
their family was very tight knit and wealthy thanks to a tech company their mom started and the kids were given everything they could ever want
cary was spoiled as the youngest and the only boy and never wanted for anything — this created a monster <33
he was good in school and was especially into sports, he was tiny but fast and very athletic, was always picked first for teams at recess and in gym class
cary and his dad were very into baseball and he was cary's coach for YEARS in elementary and middle school
as high school approached, he started to look into private schools with the best baseball programs and got into one easily
he got a scholarship to play at UCLA and shipped off to play there
first semester his freshman year, his dad suddenly passed and this absolutely rocked his world, he considered dropping out, quitting baseball, moving back home to be with his family, but his mom and sisters did everything in their power to convince him to stay and to focus on being the best he could be and so he did!
he was forced to quit baseball his sophomore year after a torn achilles made it impossible to continue, this absolutely wrecked him, he never thought he'd be happy again, so naturally, he dropped out of school /:
that same year (perhaps bc his life was falling apart, who's to say) he moved to miami
in miami, he started going to races and hanging out with the rodani crowd, and he quickly got into the scene and bought himself a sick car; his dad was always into cars so it felt like kind of a cool New way to still feel connected to him outside of baseball

big ego, knows how talented he is but truly has the skill to back it up
does not open up emotionally, will not talk about his father's death or any of his feelings
