When Doing My Alchemy Theories, I Questioned What 7 Would Represent In Terms Of Rain World, As There

When doing my alchemy theories, I questioned what 7 would represent in terms of Rain World, as there aren't really 7 of anything- aside from Red Suns. There's no hard proof or anything. And I even wondered why there wheresn't 7 urges

But I remembered, like in the image I posted yesterday, the urges are moreso like elements. The ability to destroy, reproduce, connect, and process, all coming together to be aspects of the 5th karma, Self Preservation

And like the elements, everything in the ripplespace abides by these rules. The strands, on an outside view, almost act like animals trying to keep themselves alive and going through a material body. I suppose its less that the strand is you, and moreso you are the strand(s)

.yeeah? EG the slugcat is just a vessel. you are in that vessel. you're claustrophobic. why are you in there? you want out! to me the 5th urge isnt self preservation it is more broadly just *self*. existence. ego. and self preservation just happens to fall in there too hard to put into words

I think on the broader scale of things, Spinning Top represents everything that the ancients left behind. The echoes we meet that didn't have a particular attachment to the area we find them in usually talk about selfish things like their status, the things they owned, or how much they mattered - or in the case of Two Sprouts, Twelve Brackets, how little everything else mattered in comparison. There was some grandiose idea of legacy, as evident by the iterators being a "great gift" to the lesser lifeforms, or the fact that they left behind their literal memories in the form of data pearls. Who were the pearls for? They were for the people who left them behind, who wished, even if subconsciously, for their lives to have had meaning. Spinning Top wasn't just left behind, but they were tormented by the idea that their life, or even their death, didn't have any meaning.
