Oh my god, food extract is not the same as an essential oil.
Food extract is the flavoring of something cooked down into a carrier oil or alcohol that is safe for human ingestion.
Essential oil is the pure extract of the plant refined down and distilled for concentrated medicinal purposes to a significantly higher strength than simply adding ground up mint leaves to your water. The two are not comparable in any way.
Cinnamon extract and cinnamon essential oil are not the same thing.
One is about 100 times the strength of the other and can also cause acute organ failure. I’ll give you a hint, it’s not the food extract.
Sweet gods I’m not trying to be mean, I want you to be aware and safe and stop putting yourselves and others at risk. Please.

Please pause for 2 minutes and read this:
1. Let’s say it’s 7.25pm and you’re going home (alone of course) after an unusually hard day on the job.
2. You’re really tired, upset and frustrated.
3 Suddenly you start experiencing severe pain in your chest that starts to drag out into your arm and up in to your jaw. You are only about five km from the hospital nearest your home.
4. Unfortunately you don’t know if you’ll be able to make it that far.
5. You have been trained in CPR, but the guy who taught the course did not tell you how to perform it on yourself.
6. HOW TO SURVIVE A HEART ATTACK WHEN ALONE? Since many people are alone when they suffer a heart attack without help, the person whose heart is beating improperly and who begins to feel faint, has only about 10 seconds left before losing consciousness.
7. However, these victims can help themselves by coughing repeatedly and very vigorously. A deep breath should be taken before each cough, and the cough must be deep and prolonged, as when producing sputum from deep inside the chest. A breath and a cough must be repeated about every two seconds without let-up until help arrives, or until the heart is felt to be beating normally again.
8. Deep breaths get oxygen into the lungs and coughing movements squeeze the heart and keep the blood circulating. The squeezing pressure on the heart also helps it regain normal rhythm. In this way, heart attack victims can get to a hospital.
9. Tell as many other people as possible about this. It could save their lives!!
10. A cardiologist says If everyone who gets this mail kindly sends it to 10 people, you can bet that we’ll save at least one life.
11. Rather than sending jokes, please... contribute by forwarding this mail which can save a person’s life.
12. If this message comes around you... more than once… please don’t get irritated... You should instead, be happy that you have many friends who care about you & keeps reminding you how to deal with a Heart attack.

Unpopular but true: a large reason why grocery store are empty now isn’t just because there’s a bunch of greedy, awful people panic everything in sight to spite others. Sure, there’s some hoarding assholes, but a lot of it is people realizing they will now need over a month’s worth of groceries in one go when they might usually only buy enough to last them a week, maybe two, and people who can no longer supplement with going out, people who are now eating three meals at home when usually their kids eat lunch at school and they have lunch at the office... that’s a hell of a lot more food than most families need to have on hand, including people who normally never cook and just grubhub everything. The food supply chains will hopefully stabilize a bit in the coming weeks - just wanted to point out it’s not all malicious and people aren’t as awful as is being said. I’m under self imposed quarantine, social distancing, working from home and staying away from others. Hoping all of you guys are safe and feeling ok.

Everything is terrifying, but humans are so strong.
Societies at my university are doing food bank drives. Italians are singing on their balconies and cheering health workers that go by. My university originally wasn’t going to close so lecturers took matters into their own hands and cancelled their classes, and now the university IS closing. When the government response isn’t strong enough, people are cancelling mass gatherings themselves and isolating to limit the spread. One of my friends is streaming to her self-isolating friends. My mum is going back to work tomorrow in an NHS reception. The Australian Grand Prix got cancelled and now 10,000+ people are watching an esports game version of the race on Twitch and making memes about it. All over the world, people are trying to cheer each other up.
My biggest problem with apocalypse movies, with zombie tv shows, has always been the way it portrays a world post-disaster. When humans were living in caves and hunting for survival, they drew art on the walls and told stories that were passed down in oral tradition. When London closed for the plagues, theater troupes would go around the country performing for the smaller villages instead. The human drive to create, to entertain, to adventure, to see and do new things, has always been and will always be unmoved by a crisis.
So yes people are panic buying, yes employers and governments are being selfish and cruel. But more than ever this has highlighted that, that is not what humans are. It’s something we’re pushed to be by this society, actual cruelty is an outlier.
I’ve been clinically depressed for a long time, so it feels bizarre to say: I love humans. I am overflowing with how much I really, truly, love us. Humans are silly, tender, hopeful, and social creatures. Even something as small as a long train journey, delayed and late at night, is enough for humans to take up solidarity. No matter what happens, what state the world is in, what alterations we have to make to our lives, we will never escape being recognizably, inherently human. Thank god.

We’re indoctrinated from childhood with the idea that staying home sick is somehow suspect or lazy, and that morally superior people never have their productivity schedule compromised lol, when the reality is that going out in public when you’re sick is a terrible thing to do to immune-compromised and chronically ill people (and “healthy” people) and staying home is a good thing and a right we should all have, not only for our own sakes but for others’

I finally read the The Target. For anyone not familiar with this title, it heralds back to the Officer Grayson days. Dick is setup to take the fall for some dirty cops of the Blüdhaven PD and adopts the identity The Target to clear his name name for Reasons.
I came across this gem:
That’s right. They practiced throwing guns. As confirmed by Nightwing (1996) #33:
It called to mind another gun-throwing identity of Dick Grayson’s.
Flash forward to the New 52.
That’s right, Agent 37. Was is pure coincidence Agent 8 mentioned guns and targets? Or was it an Easter Egg?
Who could forget his iconic theme song?
His fellow agents may have given him grief over his choice of gun handling, but apparently Dick had lots of practice hurling those bad boys.
Finding these references is like undercovering buried treasure to me. I get way to much pleasure from it. Has anyone else found any good links from the old to the new like this?

Batfamily Headcanon
Dick Grayson hangs up every phone call with “I love you.” At this point, it doesn’t really matter who the calls are too.
There were some awkward times when he had to call the league that he ended up saying “I love you” to people like Clark or Diana, but eventually everyone who knows him really got used to it.
For the most part, everyone says “I love you, too!” (But he’s a real easy guy to love.) Honestly it melts his heart every time.
He’s called a few pizza places or a customer service hotlines and still ended the phone call the same way (to his embarrassment.)
Now I keep thinking about him as the Batman hanging up on the League after saying “I love you” and then getting a call back after a minute only for everyone to say “I love you too”
The au you never knew you wanted:
Suburban Batfam
Batfam goes undercover to infiltrate the community of a suburban neighbourhood in hopes of discovering a secret society
Everyone (mainly Tim and Dami) argue over who gets the biggest room
Bruce gets it because it’s the master suite
When the fam moves in, their next-door neighbours give them cookies
The neighbours seem a little too nice, so nobody touches them at first
Except for Tim, who wasn’t there when it happened
He thought Damian was a little too eager when he offered some to him, but he ate them anyway
“Why are you eating the cookies? I thought you said they were too suspicious.”
“I offered them to Drake the other day and he hasn’t keeled over yet, so I deduced that they were safe for consumption.”
The neighbours across the street are very nosey and (in damian’s opinion) ask too many questions
He’s as suspicious of them as they are curious about the batfam
When asked about why their dad isn’t seen much, the boys shrug and say that he works the night shift and saves lives
Damian feeds all of the neighbourhood cats, strays or otherwise.
He slowly amasses an army of cats
Selina approves of it. Bruce? Not so much.
He still pays for the cat food though
Jason acquires a dog somehow
Dick feels like he takes better care of it and that it should be his
Tim disagrees
It’s still up for debate
Damian eventually convinces Bruce to let him bring Titus over as well
Duke and the girls come over every other weekend for family night
They receive noise complaints every time
Due to a fight between Dami and Tim, the tv is broken and mario kart is officially banned from the house
One of Damian’s cats has a litter of kittens and everyone secretly thinks they’re adorable (except Dick, who readily says it to anyone who will listen)
Jason sneaks off to play with them when nobody’s looking
Bruce is no better
Nobody really knows how to cook except for Dick
It’s more like he can boil things and use the oven without catching anything on fire, but still
Jay can too, but nobody needs to know that
And maybe Bruce, but he’s too busy to cook
Dami can only cook eggs
He tries
Alfred visits every now and then to make sure nobody’s burnt down the house and drops off various sweets
His consideration is greatly appreciated
Tim isn’t allowed anywhere near the oven since the 2nd time he caught it on fire
Tim befriends a group of moms and speed walks with them every morning to hear about the latest gossip
Sometimes it helps with the investigation
Sometimes there are rumours about Bruce
Sometimes they’re true
Tim laughs them off while internally freaking out
“Did you hear?” -Kelly
“Hear what?” -Janet
“There’s a rumour going around that *Bruce Wayne* is living in our neighbourhood.” -Kelly
“No way!” -Janet
“Yes way!“ -Kelly
"Heheheh, what a crazy rumour, right? There’s *no way* somebody like Bruce would move to our modest neighbourhood.” -Tim, sweating nervously
They were invited to a cook-out pool party once.
Somehow, Jason caught the pool on fire
Never again were they invited to such an occasion.
Everybody keeps forgetting that Alfred isn’t around and consequently, forget to do chores
One time the dishes piled up so high, they collapsed on poor Damian
Bruce had to devise a chore chart to make sure everybody did their part in keeping the house relatively nice looking
Dick dog sat for one of their neighbours once and their daughter watched him through their security cameras.
She has a crush on him now & is a little stalker-y.
