a/n: this is genuinely one of my favorite oneshots I’ve ever done. I know a lot of A/B/O fics focus on the smut, so I wanted one that focused more on the fluff. Enjoy.

“Jesus Christ, Steve!”

The sound of glass shattering rang through the compound, the piercing noise cutting through the monotonous silence and causing Tony to jump up in his seat. It’d been the third time that week that Steve had broken something as a result of his brute strength mixed with his blinding anger, costing Tony and the team fortunes in bandages and repairs.

“Sorry.”

Steve’s apology was muttered quietly, with no remorse behind his words, just an automatic reflex that made it clear that he didn’t mean it. Bruce gave Tony a nervous side-eye from behind his book, not wanting to get involved. Tony and Sam were the only ones on the team who had been brave enough to talk back to and challenge Steve the past few months, when Steve’s anger issues were flaring up more than ever.

“I really don’t feel like buying another 3 inch rimmed glass table, Capsicle.” the billionaire muttered, causing Steve to look up with a murderous glare.

“I said sorry, Tony.” he spat out Tony’s name like a swear, his fists clenching by his sides. Tony sighed, withholding the urge to roll his eyes and returned his gaze onto his phone. Everyone remembered what had happened the last time Tony had kept on mouthing off to Steve- the broken million dollar vase and the splintered wooden column in the meeting room was a reminder of the violence that had occurred as a result.

No one commented on the broken glass laying on the floor as the rest of the team trickled in, each of them carefully side stepping from the glass shards as Natasha quietly cleaned up the mess with a broom. They were unanimously worried about Steve, as the “tiny anger problem” he had was becoming persistent and all consuming the past few months. When Steve first went overboard with his anger - killing a target that they were supposed to subdue and take back to New York - Bucky had reassured them all that Steve was probably just near his rut and a little more stressed than usual. The team bought the excuse, with most of them being alphas and understanding the pure rage and hunger that could wash over alphas near their rut.

But no rut made an alpha act this way.

PILE 1

Generally: The Fool Rx, 4 of Pentacles, King of Cups, 8 of Wands, Page of Pentacles.

They will behave more conservatively around you. Regardless of what kind of personality they have, they could have a bolder or extroverted personality, or they could have a more playful and happy-go-lucky personality, whatever it is, they will be lowkey when you are near. They will want to come across calm, mature, and exclusive. I do feel like they will want to show you that they are open to you exclusively. How to explain this. They will intentionally play it cool and look closed-off, but when you approach them they will respond more positively than you expect, that’s the vibe, like they are warmer than they look.

They will also be interested in getting to know you and learning more about what you do. If you told them about your hobby, or your job, or activities you partake in, they would ask more about it and act like they wanted to learn the technical details. I mean, they could actually be interested in those things, but it’s also possible that they will use it as an excuse to get closer to you but without making the conversation turn flirtatious or emotional.

This one is full of masculine and forward energy, despite the Pentacles here. For many of you, your person could have Leo placements. I just got that feeling. They will like to show off how capable they are. There isn’t ‘playing hard to get’ here, they will make it obvious. They will want you to know that they know how to do something, or that they think about this and that, or that they want to do this and that in their life. So they may be the type of person who talks about their dreams or visions and things they want to achieve, to show you that they have the ability and the ambition to do those things. They probably see these as attractive, or these traits are the traits that best represent who they are as a person. Hence why they will want to show you these.

They will also share their thoughts and skills with you, help you do things, help make things happen for you. Ace of Swords and Temperance actually came up not quite fully reversed, like, they are undecided. Back and forth, hot and cold. I think your person will like to get into arguments with you, or just get into verbal sparrings. You may feel unsure whether this person likes you or not. The thing about the arguments is that they won’t do it in a fiery “oh I want to debate (and flirt) with you” kind of way, it will sound more like they don’t care about you, like they are annoyed, or they are criticising what you say.

They may also look like that, acting like they are unfeeling today, starting an argument or making sharp comments that rile you up, but then the next day they do something small but impactful, like picking up the file that you dropped without saying anything, or brushing off the lint on your coat offhandedly — like it’s something just absolutely anyone would do when the act itself is a bit intimate coming from someone who regularly seeks to piss you off with their words lol. So it will just make you confused. Like, is there something else going on? Or am I misreading the situation? 6 of Cups with the other cards remind me of the 6th house in Astrology, Virgo Venus, and Venus in 6th house. There’s that ‘being of service’ or ‘I do these little things because I like you’. But they probably have other placements that make them come across unfeeling and blunt at times. Hence the back and forth between two personality types.

They will pay enough attention to you to make you wonder, but then they do or say something that makes you backtrack and doubt if there’s anything romantic going on at all. They will make your heart skip a beat one day, but make you go like “you know what, forget it, fuck that person” the next day. While it may be frustrating, it will still keep your attention on them. I’m not sure if this person legit thinks this will attract you, maybe it’s unintentional, maybe they try to play it cool but it will just come across as mean, maybe they are uncomfortable with their own feelings and they don’t quite know how to show that they care. They will absolutely do things for you though, at least the desire will be there. Some of them may act like they don’t want to at first. It’s like those people who sigh and huff when they need to do something with/for you, but they end up doing it properly and they end up doing those little things that make you wonder if they care about you more than they let on.

This is someone who remembers your favourite drinks and food and orders them for you. This pile is like a mix of the other piles, kinda, so you might see some similarities. Your person will make themselves look wise in front of you. They will try showing that they have both the intelligence and emotional capacity to care/love, that they can balance their rational and logical side with their emotional side. They may show their logical side more when dealing with problems and practical matters (in front of you, so you see how level-headed and pragmatic they are), and their emotional side more when they are dealing with you (so you see their emotional depth and ability to care for you). They will also sometimes engage in conversations about complex, philosophical or spiritual topics with you, especially if you are interested in these. Whether they intend to do it or not, you may find it attractive that they are able to carry this kind of conversation, that they aren’t rigidly scientific or logical.
