Saw this on Facebook and if I see one more post like this that weaponizes the Paralympics I am going to punch my own face :)
The Paralympic athletes are INCREDIBLE, there is absolutely no doubt about that.
AND- do you know how many disabled people grieve and cry over all of the things that are no longer possible because of their disability? It’s not a matter of positive thinking or making excuses. Leave disabled people alone and stop pretending anything is possible if you just have ✨the indomitable human spirit✨
And PLEASE for the love of gods, stop putting pressure on disabled people to be your inspiration porn. ESPECIALLY when the pressure is in order to make our suffering more palatable for you.
I promise if I could positive think my legs into working I would not be struggling so much :)

Surgical masks are ineffective at protecting you and others from respiratory illnesses. That said, any mask is better than no mask and some people just don't have easy access to KN95 or better. Here's how you can improve the efficacy of the protection a surgical mask offers you and others in four simple steps.
fold mask in half (hot dog style)
Tie a knot close to the mask's edge with the ear loop.
Expand the nose and chin area (it should be concave, coming to a point where you tied the knot)
push the outer surface of the mask inward under the knot (to form a better seal)
Hey i’m a fashion design student so i have tons and tons of pdfs and docs with basic sewing techniques, pattern how-tos, and resources for fabric and trims. I’ve compiled it all into a shareable folder for anyone who wants to look into sewing and making their own clothing. I’ll be adding to this folder whenever i come across new resources

This explains a lot about my lack of asking for help when I clearly need it

When people make it clear they consider nonbinary to be synonymous for "no transitioning", or "nondysphoric", or, if you're extra lucky, "basically cis".
this is exorsexism.
bonus points if they have limited definitions of transition and dysphoria. i have transitioned and i have dysphoria, but just for people like me they'll love the goalposts.
