vicky to cope
charmac boybestfriends hanging out in abandoned skateparks and after hours bike rides, idiot4idiot. macden is what if we played a really intense game of gay chicken but like with feelings puppy boy in love with cat boy. charden is looking at a distorted reflection of yourself so you decide to be kind for once like they should’ve been to you. It’s knowing how touch is the most powerful weapon. It’s librarians and uncles and no that didn’t happen, it didn’t, you don’t know what you’re talking about. It’s feeling too much so you explode or dull it down with crack and glue. It’s two cats trying to escape a storm by holding each other, claws buried in each others backs. it’s letting go and leaving the wounds behind and they scar but never really heal. time passes and the pain is so routine you forget about it then you see each other and now your back is wet and you’re standing in blood.
HELP ME I HYPERFIXATED ON THE OLD ASSHOLES 😭 Imagine liking Rand Ridley ahahahahahahahahahahaha TT
Okay here's my silly Inside Job art dump
Sometimes, your favorite character is someone who gives you joy by daydreaming of yourself running him over
(oh yeh the dipshit drawing is inspired by that one good omens scene)
"Yeh man...wtv u say...dude"
"Yeh man, if u- if u say so"
He's soooo Kendall Roy
Nicola Coughlan is the it girl of 2024 but ruining relationships and characters in Bridgerton in order to make her character the sole focus was not the fan service move to make.
1) There's plenty of amazing posts about the absolute horrible writing of Cressida this season. It's so confusing to tell us to root for her in part 1 only to expect us to be happy at her horrible downfall in part 2 with a shitty voice over of Penelope apologizing.
2) I love the writing of Polin's relationship but the final love confession of Colin stands out from all the rest and makes no sense to me. Why would Colin tell Penelope that if he has no dreams, he will be content and happy to be her husband and to love her. What was the point?? The only reason he said that is to flip the gender roles of Portia's sentence when she was telling Penelope that men have dreams. women have husband's. Is Colin's dream being loving his wife supposed to make him a feminist icon? Pen's only wish was partnership, established by her defying Colin's "I'll show you everything" and instead asking him to "teach her". She just wants respect. She kept telling him that his writing is good, why doesn't he genuinely follow that as a passion. It's not a competition, they can both be good? Now it feels like he said "I'll publish my manuscript, and if I succeed I succeed, if I don't it's okay I have my wife." Okay, but you're allowed to keep working on it? You don't have to like, give up? Aim high, aim succeeding. Writing can still be his dream, and he can still love his wife. They can co-exist. Benedict kept saying that love is not finite. Colin can love writing and love his wife. He can work hard on his dream and still support his wife's success with no jealousy.
3) Why did Portia only focus on getting closer to Penelope and not the other sisters. It was literally up to Pen to fund their ball to finally put a smile on Prudence's face. Singling out Penelope like that to shower her with love still outcasts her from the rest of her sisters instead of forging a family bond with all of them.
Cressida losing is not a win, Colin not having dreams is not a win, her sisters not getting motherly affection is not a win. What the fuck.
Usually sitcoms I see barely provide any character growth because that consistent routine is what provides comfort.
But Community... this show did smth else. Every single episode provided growth for the characters, tiny little bits that add up and create such realistic growth. It takes time, it takes multiple tries, but they all do it. And that's how the show provides comfort. Not through routine, through change. And that's SUCH a major theme in this show.
Change is scary, often unpredictable, but we need to let go to be able to grasp new experiences. We need to learn to trust ourselves and trust people and take comfort in how, deep down, all humans are scared of being alone. So even if friends hang out less or move abroad or get married, we'll always have each other.
This show heals.
Anytime I watch one of these incel coded movies that only portray male mental health with anger issues, I get reminded of Dennis Reynolds and the fascinating decision to give him BPD, the disorder of feeling too much. It's such a fkn fantastic idea that completely strays away from the usual apathy as a solution to anger. And with this new knowledge, the narrative around his character is shifted. Dennis is still an angry misogynistic character but it's explicitly a coping mechanism and an exaggerated facade to try and fit in within this culture.
What is glamorized in bro culture, here it's carefully developed against it. Bro culture strives to have control, to have no-strings attached sex, to be angry and strong and the leader of the house. When it comes to Dennis, he would need the total opposite to truly strive. No control, a meaningful relationship where he feels seen, to feel the totality of his emotions, to not have responsibilities.

This is not a war; what Israel is doing to Palestine is genocide. Do not sit idly by and do not stay quiet. Now more than ever is the most important time to not look away.
For every man in your camp, there are thousands somewhere in the West Indies living under the same yoke, chained in fields, pressed on ships, sold into indenture. When they see a sitting governor protected by His Majesty’s Navy, deposed by an alliance of pirates and slaves, how many consider joining that fight? How many thousands of men will flock to Nassau, join your ranks, and help you defend it?
