KINHEARTED / KINKITH

A term for those who identify with being both ‘kin and ‘hearted/‘kith in a related manner - this can be interpreted however the user sees fit.

Examples could be fluctuating between “identifying as” and “identifying with” the same ‘type, or being otherhearted as a result of a kintype’s relation to the hearttype, among other interpretations.

If already coined, consider this an alt flag/label.

Hello. Dragon with a quick question. Can someone explain the difference between otherkin and otherhearted? Also, are there any sources that define different terms for alterhumanity? Because I feel like I've come across a few that I might be forgetting.

Hallo! My identity as a cat is based off of the fact that they have comforted me throughout my childhood. I also find the idea of having giant wings that I can fold around myself when I’m feeling anxious very comforting.

Can anyone help me find a nice winged identity? I think having one would make the wings feel more present and therefore more comforting.

My preferences for the identity:

(Keep in mind not all of these are necessary!)

• The creature has some sort of taboo tied to them.

• They have giant wings.

• Aren’t exactly known for flying, as in a creature that can’t actually fly or are bound to a realm they don’t want to be in

• They’re hard to come across casually.

I’m perfectly fine with Real, mythical, fictional, or religious creatures. I am not comfortable with a single identity, as in a singular being with a name, life, and personality of their own.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

something that kind of "fills in" my identity for me is collecting and considering myself a combination of various similar looking things. i might not identify as from each media, but i look like stuff from them!

so maybe it could help if you pictured yourself as a trico that might look more like a snow leopard or fox! just try to see how much you can make the guy look like you!

also for the redwood forest, there is always the possibility of a hearthome if you don't feel like any particular thing from it

I have a Question for those of you with multiple confirmed Kintypes. Do you ever feel like your identity is full? Like you've figured out who you are? Or does something just permanently feel like it's missing?

I know without any doubt that I am a snow leopard, and I'm 90% certain on me being a Trico (the only doubts I have come from my disconnect to the game). But, I still feel like something about me is missing, but I have NO idea what it could possibly be. Everything I've looked into so far has only lead to dead ends. At most I'll look at a creature/concept, and go "oh, that might be me" only to go back an hour later and feel no connection at all.

I don't get very many shifts, and when I do they don't last very long. So, I don't have much I can really point to that would tell me what I am, or if I'm even missing anything at all. I thought I might be a Highland cow, but, after some thought, I just really like cows. Maybe cowhearted at the very most. I also have been contemplating Black Holekin but, something about it feels... Off. Idk what it is, but, there's just something preventing me from saying "this is 100% me"

More Ramblings And Possible Kintype Leads I Have Below!!!!

I have a strong calling for the Redwood Forests in California. I've been there twice between the ages of 7-10, and it always felt like home. I often yearn to return to those gentle giant trees... I'm unsure if my love for the redwoods means that perhaps I too, am a tree, or simply a being who thrives off of them like an animal or a river or a plant. Nothing is really out of question.

I want to look more into Grey Foxes. I can't help but see myself as a grey fox, and I do share a good amount of traits with them. It would definitely explain my tail wagging shifts, my vocal stims, my Desire to live in burrows, etc. so far though,they don't really scream "ME" like my other kintypes do. Though, in fairness I didn't immediately click with my kintypes until I had fursonas of them and realized I related to them way more than I ever did with my other characters.

I may also perhaps be a raccoon? Or at the very least racoonhearted. I'm not sure what it is exactly, but, I see myself a LOT in raccoons, and I know for a fact that I am meant to have their coloration or similar. I can very much see myself as having limited bipedalism, I'm a sensory seeker that primarily explores sensation via touch, and again it would explain my desire to burrow and wag my tail.

But, even still, I have no idea if any of these are me sometimes they feel like they are, sometimes they don't. I'm not even entirely sure if I have some secret 3rd kintype or not. So, don't take this as a "kinsidering" post. I'm mainly just writing this so I can come back to it and see how I feel later after I've done more research!

Btw if you are a winged being and you REALLY want to fly, you should look into paramotoring!

Paramotoring is one of the cheapest, easiest, and most accessible forms of aviation!

It is where you take a paraglider, and attach it to a propeller you wear on your back. This allows you to take off right from the ground!

There are two ways to do it:

By foot, where you wear the motor like a backpack and run, then slide into your seat (which is attached to the motor) once you're up in the air!

And by a Trike, a 3 wheeled frame that attaches to your motor/paraglider, allowing you to sit as you take off!

This is one of the most accessible sports, as you don't need all too much strength or mobility to do it! It is pretty expensive to get into, but once you have your whole set together, and some training, its pretty easy to maintain!

I get a lot of behavioral shifts/urges, and very strong wing shifts as a Trico, and it makes me feel really dysphoric knowing I can't fly. I'm really hoping one day I'll be able to afford a trike set, and training. I cannot wait to be in the sky one day!

I can't wait to feel the wind on my feathers, being face to face with the sun as it sets. I can't wait to feel weightless for a while, like I have no troubles. I can't wait to feel free!

Yes absolutely!! Because there’s a word for that: otherhearted! Basically, it’s where you connect with an animal, a fictional character/species, whatever. An otherhearted person doesn’t believe they are the animal or fictional being like a therian does, just that they relate to them or connect with them in some way. If that sounds right for you, then hell yeah <3

I'm making my own Watcher biography! Since I can't find any accurate information on my source other than the same unhelpful "Just watch the EVO series and the Life series to get lore", I decided to take the advice I got on The Centaurus Festival and just... write my own canon from my own observations, memories, feelings, etc.

Then I'll try to either print it and bind it or just save it for future reference. I just want to have a place with all of my identities written down, with all of the history and "lore" of my source. Which, for me is not lore... It's my life, my memories, and my world

I mean, I'm not really a god per se, but I'm still a deity in some sense? We (Watchers) don't really have individual domains, but we still cover eyes/observation/games/chaos and things like that. We're very well-rounded beings, of course

I don't exactly want a full following/worshippers, but the sense of "leaving something out for (insert thing here) just to cover all bases), y'know? I'm not that big in terms of... godhood, idk. i recently had my strongest shift in a while (although thats not saying much, mine are weak as hell) while in my friend's car. a song started, and when i realised it was a song i didn't like that much, i felt and saw two antennae flatten against my head in upset.

i see you have found a post abt envisage shifts! i'll still explain a little about my personal experience tho!

when theres an experience that causes me to shift, the first thing i feel is whatever the movement is. my phantom limbs are not super "strong" or "there", so it's a faint feeling. when i have the limb, thats when i usually have an envisage shift, where i'll see the tail, etc. moving, kind of in 3rd person for a second. sometimes its more like an outline, like silver/white in your vision when you're lightheaded.

also i totally relate to ur parts of the post abt "aura where the shift is" and a ghost finding nerves, its kinda what i was trying to say here but i couldn't find the wording.

Question to the community: what do phantom shifts feel like for you all? What even if the determining factor, for you, that you are non-alterhuman/otherkin/therian??
